FYI, those with ipones, you can download a free TKTS app. It's current as to what's at the "booth". ;):)

I have that app for my DROID too. :)

Has anyone seen NEWSIES with Jeremy Jordan and also seen it with the new lead? We loved it with Jeremy and am wondering how Corey Cott compares.

My husband and I see every show on Broadway (we are on the press list). There are MANY, MANY better ways to spend an evening.

What is your experience? I have seen many Bway shows, and I think this show is very enjoyable, especially for kids. The 2nd act is like nothing on Bway. What did you not like? Story? Music? Set design? I think the media really did this show a disservice. The 2.0 show is highly entertaining.

There is no story, the music is crappy, the lyrics are worse, and you can go down the street and see shows with real substance. LOL

I think 2.0 does have a story and I'm a U2 fan. :). I love "Freaks Like Me". And certainly there are other shows to see that have more substance, but I still maintain that as far as thrills go, this show is a must. But the again, I'm the person that would never waste money on Mary Poppins again. LOL.

I saw 2.0 and I agree with those that say to avoid it. It was more like a bad thrill ride than a Broadway musical (musical? There was no real dance numbers and the musical score was awful). There was one song the Goblin sang that really hurt my ears.. And to top it off, the show stopped twice for a total of an hour due to technical issues. This was just this past spring.

Like I said, it has outlived Anything Goes, How to Succeed, Memphis, and Catch Me If You Can - all Tony winners that went I stage around the same time. I will say, if you dislike U2, then you might not enjoy the show.

I do like U2!

Oooh I might have to get that even tho I'm nowhere close!

Yeah, Spiderman is a huge mess. Avoid, avoid.

Lol and that's what I've heard before.

LUCKY!!!!!!!! I want your job!!

You hated Mary Poppins? How come? We looooooved it and are spending more money to see it again (4th row center!)

I am a huge U2 fan. After I saw Spiderman on Broadway, I wanted to punch Bono in the face.

The show is awful. I saw it before the revamp, but short of closing it down and forgetting it ever happened, nothing was going to fix that show.

The music doesn't work, the sets are overdone, and as a fan of Spiderman...that was just embarrassing.

It doesn't matter how many shows it's "outlived", the show is so expensive that it will have to run for years at capacity to even turn a profit. It plays heavily discounted and save for holidays, it's on TKTS nearly every night.

It may run for awhile, because the tourists love it, but it's really, really awful.

When I saw it, the audience was so quiet after one of the songs in Act 2 that an usher had to start applauding to get the rest of the audience clapping.

I thought the show was very boring and the seats at the New Amsterdam Theatre were horribly uncomfortable.

You know, that is really sad.

With a story like Spiderman, and a the pedigree of the people associated with it (Bono, Julie Taymor), it had all the makings of a great show - too bad it got screwed up so badly. :sad2:

Exactly. I went with a friend who actually didn't know much about Spiderman (never saw the movies or read the comics) and she said it was actually hard to follow. You know they've screwed up when they can't even tell the story right.

Before it opened, Bono and The Edge were doing interviews going on about how much they hated musicals and bragged about how theirs was going to be so much better. The music they wrote didn't work for the stage at all. It didn't tell a story, it didn't have a narrative. It was just rock music...which I love, but it didn't work for the show.

And I love U2, and I thought Julie Taymor's work on The Lion King was brilliant. But she didn't have a clue on this one, at least not about the story. I even read somewhere that she decided on what villians to use based on a Spiderman merchandise catalog instead of finding out who they actually were.

Aw boring? I love the set design and the songs (and dancing)!

Stinks about uncomfortable seats :(

Anyone heard what will be coming new to Broadway in 2013? I'm already planning next year's trip. :thumbsup2
