Did anyone see this Hotel on the Travel Channel yesterday. WoW!!! I have not looked for my guide book yet, (cause it is packed up.) Can we use points at this hotel?

If you mean The Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado - yes it is beautiful and yes it is in the Concierge Collection. I love it there - the whole area is wonderful.:D If you decide to check it out, I don't think you will be disappointed! It is especially lovely at Christmas time.

You will absolutely love The Broadmoor!!! The Travel Channel didn't do it justice. We go every August for a week. There is so much to do in the area. Be sure to go to Garden of the Gods (neat rock formations), Old Colorado City (old historic shopping district), Manitou Springs (old historic shopping district and castle), Zoo and Will Rogers Shrine. There's white-water rafting in the area. You can drive or take a tram to the top of Pike's Peak. I think they will allow you to tour NORAD (the area inside Cheyenne Mountain that was built in case of an attack).

The summer in Colorado is wonderful. The air is so crisp and clean. You can see the Will Rogers Shrine lit up at night from some of the rooms at the Broadmoor or from an outside patio. The Broadmoor has a wonderful spa that you should try. The food is wonderful. Gotta have a steak at The Tavern. Then go across the street to The Bee and have a yard (or half a yard) of beer. The Bee is a bar that serves beer is glasses that are 18" or 36" tall (in addition to regular size). Then you can sing along to your favorite song played on an old time piano. The entire room gets into the act and it's alot of fun.

I look forward to our trip to The Broadmoor as much as I do our trips to WDW.

We were just at the Broadmoar in June and it is amazing! The resort is beautiful and the service is absolutely perfect! Walt would be very impressed! I think it's a rule that all employees must acknowledge guests, housekeeping, bellmen, lawn keepers, everyone said hello or good afternoon! The horseback ride is 2 hours, so pad well if you do that! :teeth:

What's also remarkable about the Broadmoor is that the prices of some of the services seem very low priced for a 5 star resort (at least compared to New York area standards).

Example: a beautiful Sunday brunch buffet (one of the best I've ever seen)is only $24.95 per person or there about....same thing in NY-NJ would easily be double that!

What do you know about the golf there? I was flipping thru TV Channels last night and happened to see the Golf Channel just as they were recommending the Broadmoor. So I assume it has noteworthy golf. And DH won't stay anywhere, it seems, unless he can golf!

Thanks for the reply's I will be planning a trip soon. As far as golf, the show on tv said that course is at the resort. The views looked great and the deer did not run away from the tv crew. (wildlife abound is what they said)

They have 3 or 4 courses. Two of them (the East and West courses) are championship courses that have had major tournaments played there. My DH is an avid golfer and it's one of his favorite places to golf. So your DH should have nothing to worry about. And while he's golfing, you can go to the spa and sit on the deck and look out over the golf course. It's a beautiful scene, and very tranquil. There is also a new golf course they've built about half an hour north of Colorado Springs that is supposed to be great. Another 15 minutes north (at Castle Rock) is another 2 or 3 courses that are top-notch and home to an annual PGA tournament. Castle Rock also has a really nice outlet mall.

Yes, the deer will get fairly close to you. Also ducks, squirrels, etc.

This is all good information to know as i just booked the broadmoor for a 4 night stay over labor day weekend for next year. I got the classic room, which is their lowest category but looks absolutely beautiful! I don't think you can go wrong with any room at this hotel. It's not cheap at 44 pts a night, high season. My son is entering the Air Force Academy and that is parents weekend, so point cost is not a factor here! After looking over the website, it will be well worth it. Our cable doesn't get the Travel Channel yet, unfortunately.
