i thought the groups of 15 year old brazilians only show up in July, but they're already here

a bunch of screaming girls racing by my door last night at the pop century woke me up at 3 am...

and i'm now permanently blinded by all the forbidden flash photography that's going on (like last night in the haunted mansion, as we went around the crystal ball, so the flashes were right into our eyes!! )

i was chatting with another woman in line this morning at epcot and she said there are also groups where she's staying - the All Star Music..

so maybe they're at all the values....

if you're at the values during the next 5 to 6 weeks, i suggest you request an upper floor....and maybe there's a quiet section available? away from these large groups of very young and seriously unsupervised non-english speaking children!

other than that, i'm really really enjoying myself!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

We went in June before they were every where I remember watching Illuminations one night and one stood on me to try and push her whole group in front of me!

It was also the world cup when I was there in June and Brazil knocked out England and also won you thought they were bad now you can't imagine what it is like then

They seem to be there everytime we go, the place was swarming with them in Jan, It' when they bunk the queue I get cross

Maybe they should be forced to apply for a WDW Visa before they can go .... an application with a painfully looooong, slooooow process. ;)

Yes I was just going to say that there were load in January too, we were getting fed up of their intimidating behaviour chanting at the tops of their lungs - our DD was quite scared some times. I wish that Disney would do something about making them behave, we don't all want to listen to them .

We only came across one group of girls in December - and they were argentinian (I know they had football shirts on)

We saw them a few times but the only time they irritated me was when they took over backlot express and then got up leaving all their trays and mess - I guess they have maids in their school cafeteria?!

We had ALOT of school groups last month while we were there but had no troubles with them whatsoever. I actually thought they were pretty well behaved, it was only at Busch Gardens they were rather annoying. Saying that though most of the school groups then were American!

The American school groups are very different though. We have had cheerleading groups and TBH, there have never been problems. You notice them more because they are in large groups, but there is a difference between just being rowdy and having fun and being intimidating. There are a lot of complaints every year about the behaviour of the Brazilian tour groups though and some of the stories have been quite :scared1:

We have found worst time of year is Xmas thru New Year, If I remember righty they were from Peru who we had most hassle with.

We have been lucky enough (touch wood) to avoid them so far. I have seen videos though and the chanting and running riot, let alone line cutting and rudeness would literally do my head in. I think we will stick to late August and October as there don't seem to be many around.

Hope it doesn't completely ruin your trip Beth.

We overheard a CM last time telling someone that the Brazilian tour groups take from Disney approx 7000 hotel nights in July. At that rate of business me thinks they will continue to be welcomed (and tolerated) with open arms.

Staying off site sounds like it shielded us a lot of the drama. That said TBH we saw plenty of behaviour from fellow Brits that would have offended plenty when we last went in 08.

Beth - hope the mob calms down and wish you a great time. . I found a couple of wide elbows worked wonders in the queues....

we were there in feb and although we stayed offsite we found lots of svhool groups i think brazilian and argentinian, they were very noisy and tried to barge past me on the test track queue , a few elbows later they soon learned, epcot was the worst park for it it was like a massive swarm of kids with a leader waving a silly flag in a useless attempt to keep them all together, there wer quite a few american cheerleeding groups but they were very well behaved no rudeness at all, very polite

We had great fun watching two opposing groups trying to out sing each other while waiting for Fantasmic. Very colourful ;)

They always look so surprised when I stop talking to DW in English and talk to them in Portuguese that they usually shut up, for a few minutes at least ;)

:goodvibes

i ve pulled that trick a few times mate;):rotfl:
i think as an mfl teacher, you should tell all your kids the best part about being bi-lingual is the look on idiots faces when you tell them where to go in their own language:rotfl2:
ps will you teach me portugese pls??

on the behind the scenes tour i was on yesterday, we met a brazilian who's on the college program...
he was so funny when someone asked him about the brazilian tour groups..

his name is Arthur and he works in Epcot guest relations and is a really really nice guy - if you see him have a chat - such an interesting person....and then mention the brazilian groups to him to see his response - so funny, but i can't do it justice...

Off topic, but Tracy, I see you've been tagged!

We had the same experience at Busch Gardens. Very annoying and loud - but looks like it's nothing compared to the other groups mentioned!

Although like another poster, we too have seen behaviour from Brits that made us cringe. To the extent once that I actually intervened and apologised on behalf of the UK for the awful behaviour of some of our fellow citizens to an American family in Epcot a few years ago, in the hope they would realise we weren't all like that!

Yes, it happens with every nation and if you are not party to the behaviour in question you instinctively want to disassociate yourself from it by whatever means necessary. I recall shoving some candy or something into DD's mouth when a women let loose on her child at Premium Mall with a stream of profanity, followed by a threat to put the child on the next plane back to Scotland. DD's eyes widened and she said "Sco...." and I filled her mouth with something, lol. I get away with it because I lived abroad for 10 years and don't really have a Scottish accent, but nonetheless .....
