~The BOT Battalion~ BOTS On The Run

:cutie:OK, there we go. I'm thinking she'll have a bright & "sunny" outlook about NYC in March when you get home.;)

Good morning BOT-Folk! :grouphug:

Lou~ Great race, great results, great report... I'm with everyone else. I do love the feeling accomplishments like yours (although not sub-4) bring me. What a great day for you and your family! Thanks for mentioning me in your report. It was great to see you last year during the race, I wish I had the energy to catch up to you. PF was an issue during the later stages of the race which slowed me down considerably. I also recall running a little bit with Dave during the race, that was fun too.

I went to the YMCA last night to get a quick work-out in. 3.1 miles on the LifeFitness Cross Trainer/Elliptical in 22:47, I cranked on it. It felt good to stretch the calf out in a non-impact situation. It is still tight, but not sore. I also lifted weights a bit, which I enjoy. I'll never be a body builder though.

I'm interested in adding a BOT Race into my mix for 2010! Mathy needs to get on the stick and make a suggestion. Delaware is now only 2 loops by the way (in mid-May), and has a half marathon and relay as part of it. I am already signed up for the half (deferred from last year) but may upgrade to the marathon. Charlie (Judy's DH) is probably running the marathon. Keener Family hospitality is included in the race packets for this one. No pressure, just wanted to make everyone aware.

Cam and I leave for WDW and the Disney Magic on Friday, I've already started packing. :dance3::yay::banana::cool1::woohoo: I plan on running the Castaway Cay 5K and running on Deck 4 daily(?) during the Western cruise.

Hi to Jen, Chester, Sara, Judy, Cindy, Matt, Lou, Jodi, Colleen, Dave, Kathy and Mike.

Have a great day!!!!

I acutally have some training to report:cool1: (For the first time since Nov. 7. Seriously. I have run a half marathon since then, but this is my first training run since Nov. 7). 4 big miles. That's sure to get me ready for the Goofy:rolleyes1

Actually, that sounds about right.
Hmmmm, your Goofy training doesn't sound that different than mine. Well, except for the full marathons and half marathons in there.

Hello Bots. Some training to report for me also. It's only week 2 of my 50 miler training plan, but I'm already switching stuff up. Maybe I'll just do a "run as many miles as I can every day" type plan instead.

Friday: 4 miles

Saturday: 8 miles

Sunday: 10 miles (was supposed to be 15 but I got too cold)

Monday: 8 miles (treadmill miles because it was raining outside. I was tempted to try to get my 15 mile run in, but only Kathy can put in double digit treadmill miles so I didn't make it)

Tuesday: 15 miles! I finally finished my 15 mile run from the weekend. Now I'm officially ready to eat lots of turkey and stuffing.

I also recall briefly running with Dave on Delaware Ave. He came flying up behind me. Kind of regretted not hanging out with Dave longer but I was too focused on a sub 4-hr goal that was not to be that day. Later that day I put a banana in his tail pipe, causing him to have to get his car serviced at Pep Boys. :lmao: Just busting on you Dave.

Delaware is a possibility. I have to run a DE marathon some day. If I few BOTs jump in it may be enticing. How are you going to run that and the Broad St Run (first weekend of May)? If I decide to run Broad St then the goal for the spring will be to run a sub 70-minute 10 miler. I'll need to drop at least 10 lbs to make that happen.

Colleen - yes, how about Adam Lambert? And to think they had to film Elvis from the waist up 50 years ago.

Matt - So you really are running a 50-miler? Good for you. Someday I might bike 50 miles but I don't see myself running it. What will your longest LR be?

No running on tap for me until Turkey Day. May just go for a mini-LR that morning but will need to remember to dress brightly to avoid the turkey hunters.

Lou~ Right now my schedule shows the Broad Street Run, then the Delaware Half. I think I could make the Broad Street Run a training run for the Delaware Marathon without much a-do.

Good Morning Everyone: Short, 3 mile run for me yesterday on the treadmill. My legs are feeling OK. No running on tap for me today as we're driving down to Delaware to see my Dad. I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.

Oooohhh!!! Thank you so much for posting this, Howie!! And thanks to  Cam, :hug:too. Us little-ear-hole-peeps have to show solidarity!! :grouphug:. I'll check this out over the weekend. I was on the subway a few weeks ago standing next to a girl who had regular i-pod headphones in her...her....they weren't really ears....they were GAPING HOLES IN THE SIDE OF HER HEAD!!!. Seriously, I don't know how those things fit in "ears". :scared1:

Jodi -- I used them this morning and the sound quality was wonderful. They came with 3 sizes of ear buds, with the middle size already put on. Those were so much smaller than normal earphones and they fit wonderfully. But there is another, smaller set in the package that might work even better for you with your tiny little delicate ears. I am so excited to finally have earphones that stay in and don't leave my ears sore at all.

Oh, and since this is a training thread, I'll mention that I did a mile on the treadmill before my personal training/strength training session this morning. It was ugly. Oh, and I'm allergic to the silicone or whatever is in the knee sleeve. I have what looks like chemical burns on the back of my left knee and figured out this morning that it is from the knee sleeve. Huh! Nothing is easy. :confused3 LOL!

Lou - Great race report. Very impressive staying so strong all the way through the late miles.

Those brownies were good but I just didn't have enough saliva at that point. I guess I needed a milk stop half a mile down the road.

Matt - 4,8,10,8,15! 5 days in a row? Easy there big fella. BRR is in late April, not in January.

Are you and Cindy staying local this weekend?

Howard and Cam - Have a great cruise!

Dave and anyone else travelling - Safe trip.

Jodi, Jodi, Jodi... - Where do I start? How 'bout with the fact that you're giving a lot of crap for someone that's pulled the old plan and bail so much lately: CMM, Baltimore, Bull Run Run (that one lasted just long enough to get Matt all fired up), Biergarten with Colleen and me in August, am I forgetting any?

And don't make me join Facebook so I can come over there and smack you down some more!;)

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone (yes, including Jodi:hug:)!

ETA: Cam - I hear a lot of women are allergic to silicone. Seems it makes their breasts swell to unnatural proportions.:rolleyes1

Oh, Cam, that's terrible, you certainly don't need this too. Hugs, dear friend!

Just a quick post.

Lou: GREAT job on the Philly marathon. I'm very happy for you. You were motoring thru the first 18, and not too shabby on the next 8 either. Relax and enjoy a bit of a break now.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone. Off to do all my chores now.

Cindy

A week off to rest my knee paid off. So what if I missed my 2nd 20 miler. This morning I ran my fastest mile to date. Mile 5 of a 5 miler was completed in 7:47. A year ago my best mile was 7:59. The Jodi method works!:lmao:

Tomorrow I'm working race crew for a local 5 mile Turkey Trot. I get to call out times at the 2-3 mile mark (the course is out and back). Then it will be off to a small Thanksgiving dinner at my Sister's house. We get to bring the trukey since she's a vegetarian.

Best Thanksgiving WISHes to all the BOTs and their families. Have A nice holiday everyone.

Chester
