The boring FW pool...

stillh2o, that was just about the fasted lock I've seen in a long time! I warned you not to post over there!! :flower:

I think a lot of people think that pool hoppers cause all the problems at the resort pools, but I'm sure they don't.

In any case, no matter what they tell you on the resorts board, if you want to use another pool, ask the front desk or the lifeguards. It's up to them to decide, not disers.

I will try to update everyone on a other thread people started make fun of because are dog has a stroller,Are dog has a stroller becouse he can not walk. He was hit by a car before we got him. We take him in the stroller so he is not just locked inside. His days are # and we are just tring to make the best for him.

We stay at FW a couple times a year and also PO Riverside. I wonder if perhaps they do not add slides to pool or make it more fun b/c it is open 24 hours. I am not sure if pool at PO stays open 24 hours, but know once the lifeguards leave kids really get out of hand. DH and I left PO pool B/C we watched kids doing backflips off the island in the middle and jumping off lifeguard tower. To me that is just an accident waiting to happen. When at FW pool we have watched the kids do the same and alos jump off of Lifeguard stand.

I really cannot see how they could close FW pool at Midnight like some W/O fencing the whole thing in. I am not sure if this is why the pool is so boring, but it would make sense to me why they do not upgrade.

As for pool hopping, I love PO pool and WL pool, but we use them when staying at resort. We will be staying at VWL in Jan and I cannot wait to hit the pool. I do agree though rules are there for a reason. I have to say though we have never had to sign any paper in all the years we have been staying there. :confused3

WOW, about the FW pool. When we were there in July, the LG's never stopped walking the pool and checking on everything going on. There were 3 at times but always 2 and I thought they were awesome. Several times I saw them stop and correct behavior of kids doing something inappropriate but I wanted to smack the parents for not reinforcing it. @@ Not once did these parents get on to their children for what they were doing, but, they talked amongst themselves about how hard the LG's were being on their kids. Go figure!

And, we've never had to sign anything either about pool-hopping. Maybe they know who the hoppers are and only make *them sign the papers! :rotfl:

Y'all may want to take a trip over to the resorts board - this poster is trying their best to convince everyone over there that pool hopping is a great idea, too. Fascinating...

KC :sunny:

KC Stop following stillh2o around or I will have to point you out to my children and tell them "this is not how behave."
The last thread (pool hopping)was closed because of your name calling.
It does not give you the right to thread hop and continue the name calling.
Stop and THINK before you post.
stillh2o please do not let this rude person get to you.
I stayed at FW a long time ago and I remember their pools are not themed.
I also wish they could reopen just the pool area at River Country for their FW guests.
If you wish to petion Disney for a better pool I am sure a lot of Disboards members would sign it.
Good Luck and have a great time on your New Years vacation to WDW.

Trlboy,I guess you missed my point. A dog walking from loop to loop with his owner, not making any noise, or someone Pool Hoping What does it Hurt. When we go to the other Pool we just use the pools no chairs and the Bar then we leave. So are you one of those people that have a copy of the rules you know everyone of them and you just sit and wait for someone to break one. Then you will call Frontdesk tell. Boy get a life.
It does hurt.
When people do not follow the rules it does hurt others.
Rules are there for a reason and you should follow them.
If you pool hop and are caught you could be thrown out of FW and the parks.
It is like speeding. A lot of others may be speeding also but if you are the one caught you are the one who is fined.
It's better to follow the rules and let Disney know via petion, letters, ect. that they really need a better pool for FW .
While you are doing that you could also tell we could use a slide at the All Stars pool too.
Thanks.

Hmmm... didn't realize I would stir things up with my initial post. Having been a resort guest twice this year already I didn't know that resort guests frowned upon pool-hopping or took it so seriously. I certainly didn't give it a second thought when I was there. Also, there were times when I took the kids down to the pool while dh stayed in the room. I did not take a room key with me because I didn't think I would need it. After all, dh was in the room and I wasn't planning on buying anything at the bar. I guess it's a good thing I wasn't asked for id -- I wouldn't have had it even though I was a guest there:)

Try posting this topic on the DVC boards LOL they will tear you apart they take it personal when others pool hop that aren't DVC members LOL. Don't feel bad OLD Key West only just got a pool slide this year and you should have heard the complaining about it from the DVC members that felt it was a waste of money and time for the resort to have it.

I hope you did not think I was making fun of the dog in the stroller. Just the other day I saw this border collie driving a truck and watched it pull into a 7/11 and fill up with gas. As incredible as this may sound, my sister has a cat that can juggle golf balls. I'm thinking that this dog of yours is a slacker and is just looking for a rest or an easy way to get around.

Rude is a person who signs a piece of paper agreeing not to use another resorts pool and then proceeds to trespass. I have no sympathy for the OP if he doesn't like the posts from people who don't agree with his behavior.

People who don't like the pool at can stay somewhere else, complain to Disney (don't be surprised if a new pool comes with limited hours and a price increase) or just use the water parks.

You might suggest Disney come up with some type of LOS water park pass for guests at the campgrounds or just use River Country to open some type of upgraded pool.

Rude is a person how starts name calling, When that disagree with someone. All we are doing is just killing time and having a discussion. Know need for name calling.

I've been following this thread, and the one on the resorts board, trying to stay out of it by chuckling to myself. There is post after post telling this person they are wrong but it just doesn't seem to matter to them.

However, reading the post about signing a statement and then ignoring it is over the top to me. I sign a lot of documents in my life, but that doesn't mean I just ignore my mortgage, my car payment note, or especially the marriage certificate I signed 16 years ago. I think my wife would be disappointed if I told her I signed it, but wasn't going to pay attention to it. Yes, these are all more important than pool hopping, but the principal behind a signature is the same.

OK, now I've also been sucked into a senseless thread as this person just isn't going to change their mind, no matter how wrong everyone else says they are. I'll read it for the humor value as long as it lasts.

I'll put the ball in your court, you sign an agreement acknowledging that you're not allowed to use another resorts pool and that you agree not to engage in that behavior.

What word other than rude, or worse, would you use to describe your behavior?

You want to have a little discussion, don't be upset when people don't agree with your behavior.

No one here ever speeds, not to work, not even to WDW. Well speeding is breaking the Rules and you can kill others. I don’t think Stillwater has ever killed any one by Pool Hoping. So all you Rules are Rules people look at your self before passing judgment on others.

To my knowledge, I have never signed a piece of paper stating that I would not speed, so the comparison is mute. I have signed the paper at FW and since my signature acknowledges that I will abide by these rules even if I should disagree with them, I will follow them.

As far as my reporting to the office when I see an obvious infraction taking place, it does not upset my vacation making that report. If someone chooses to not follow the rules at FW, then why should they be allowed to stay?

John

This thread has gone way beyond being useful. I was really hoping that I would never have to lock a thread on the Camping Board - but here goes!
