I'm likely not the only one who sees the Disboards become a ghost town over the weekend, it's already started today. I understand that people get busy over the weekends and maybe even like to take a break from being on-line, but it wasn't always this way.

Anybody else recall the days when Friday night would roll around and there was kind of an informal understanding that we'd check in on Friday night with what was going on? Good times! Everyone have a great weekend:)

The Willy J/King Shultz & Low Key threads were usually hilarious on weekends. This board isn't the same without them.
They are missed for sure! There were a number of regulars who made this a fun place to be--and there are still lots of fun folks here, but the numbers certainly have dwindled. You and I got here before Facebook was a thing, I think we lost traffic due to that phenomenon and the proliferation of other Disney sites.

Yep, and the younger demographic isn't overly interested in message boards that aren't easily navigatable on a phone. Not sure what I'm getting wrong, but I *hate* using Disboards on my phone--it's awful. Am I missing out on an app? I use my laptop less and less and visit sites on Reddit/Facebook, etc often and tons of people are there on those Disney sites.

I think you're right about FB. The heavy moderation also appears to have slowed down traffic compared to the early days. I do understand it though. There was a time, when the political posts would get downright nasty. I remember one member in particular being vile at times. The political threads now don't even compare to the early days, but are still closed or deleted completely.

I'm here! I'm here! I'm always here LOL.

DH works 12s on Sat-Mon so I'm always on. I noticed that Sunday nights seem to pick back up a bit.

The FB groups make me nuts. Way more than the DIS :D I feel like you are able to make much more personal friends on here, if that is what interests you. I recently had a great shared (non paid) fireworks cruise lately with some members of a private chat group from the DIS. It was fun to have a meet up!

Yeah, there's really no connection on the Facebook or Reddit groups.

My old group (Dis Divas) used to be so active on the boards but switched over to facebook and I hated it. I prefer the boards over FB because FB doesn't keep things chronological.

I'm here mostly on the week days b/c it's one of the few sites not blocked on my work computer. My work comes in waves so have downtime sporadically through the day.

I recently referred a "newbie" over to the Disboards for trip planning purposes because I find it to be a better format for taking your time and persuing a lot of information. Someone in the group chimed in (I think it was a Reddit forum) and said that the people on the Disboards were "crazy" and "nuts" and it's tough reading on that site, lol!!

I prefer my laptop for most things, I make too many errors on the phone keyboard. Navigating the the boards is much easier on a computer. And you're right about younger demos not being interested in message boards, the format is becoming obsolete.

What's wrong with a little crazy and nuts??? ;) Actually my ignore list has sorted that issue out:)

Sometimes during a boring meeting at work (a Zoom type meeting), I'd like to read the Disboards. It is blocked on my work computer so I'm stuck with the phone but I hate it.

I also HATE using Disboards on my phone. I only look at it when I am on my desktop which isn't very much on the weekends.

t seems counter intuitive to me that people would have less time to be online on the weekends vs during the work week. I have way more time on the weekends than I do during the work week.
Is that because your work ethic is such that you wouldn't be on the Dis during office hours??? :earboy2:
I just think people get busy with stuff over the weekends, perhaps interacting with real life friends and families.

I'm literally on my feet all weekend running around doing errands and that sort of thing.

As for work, I only want to look at social media when I get roped in to some god awful boring Zoom/TEAMS meeting where I'm not engaging but have to be there and listen.

As for today, taking the day off from work and it's too hot to run around so it's a rare day that I'm spending a lot of time online.

I also remember the chats and how much fun they used to be. I would look forward to those nights and we spent so much time laughing.
Yup. The Friday Night chats. But all the traffic here is down from 15 years ago, no matter the day of the week.
