Wow, this is a big step for me. I have lost and gained weight a kazillion times. I have tried to analyze my behavior...I feel I need exercise most importantly in my life. I truly lack the motivation to get moving though. Just two years ago I had my weight down and felt on top of the world. I have been slowly creeping my way back up into the territory that repulses me. I do not like the example I am setting for my daughter. On the bright side, I made a conscious effort to go walking two miles at a brisk pace today. It hurt. I will go out again tomorrow and give it another go. I guess I can only take this one day at a time. I am also working to drink more water and be aware of what I am eating. It's funny, when I write my aspirations down they seems so simple. Yet, each and everyday I try to motivate myself to make a change-- the day slips away and I make new promise for the next. A vicious cycle. I am hoping that this board will allow me the opportunity to inspire and aspire to better health. I will make a promise to come to this board each day after my walk and jot down my journey.

 Hello and welcome to Wish.

Congrats on taking the decision to lose weight. As a life long yo-yo dieter I have to say that by factoring exercise into my life on a daily basis, this has allowed me to take stock of my eating habits. I now exercise every day, Monday to Friday I go to the gym before I go to work. This motivates me for the day and I find that I am less likely to stuff my face after working my butt off in the am.

Best of luck ;)

Welcome Blue Fairy!!! Hi!

You're doing great. Might I suggest adding an eating plan? That's where my problem lays: eating. Ugh.

Make SURE to drink your water, too, okay?

:cheer2: Hey Blue Fairy!
:cheer2: That's right
:cheer2: A blue loss delight!
:cheer2: Is comin' your "weigh"
:cheer2: And here to stay!

Good lcuk!

Hi! Got your PM and it brightened my day!!

Thanks and have a great weekend!

HI!!! Welcome to WISH!!

You have taken this step and I am proud of you! Just remember that if you fall off one day, you can pick yourself up and start over tomorrow.

Take it one day at time....you will and can do this!

Welcome to WISH! You are going to love it here. The only problem may be in "group flight" :) There are so many angels here, that flying is practically effortless. The support you will find will make you know you can accomplish anything. Enjoy the journey -- it is even more important than the destination! :grouphug:

I am disappointed that I didn't walk as far as I did the day before. I was, however, very active yesterday. I drank more water than usual. Jotting down my experiences does helps. It means that my intentions are not floating in and out of my head and being casually dismissed. This is good. The next big thing I need to address is working up the courage to step onto the scale. Boy, this one I don't want to do. But, if I am going to fight this fight I need to step on. Calling it a day...wish me luck.

Well done on your accomplishments so far. You are doing so well. Remember it takes a little while to build your fitness up, so don't fell bad if you don't reach the targets you have set for yourself. The pounds will come off and your fitness will improve ;)

I walked again today. It has been very hot and it really made me feel tired out. I have yet to adapt my diet. I have been uping my water intake...which is good. Today is not a easy day. I am not going to give up. If I come here each day I know that I will begin to see patterns that will help me along the way.

Welcome to Wish and best wishes for your weight loss/fitness journey. I too find it is so hot it is hard to get motivated to get out and exercise. Just drink your water and realize you are sweating it off! Keep moving! I find I enjoy posting on the daily exercise thread - it keeps me motivated and focused.

BF -- you HAVE to step on the scale! You will probably lose a pound or 2 in the first few days or week, and if you don't have a starting number, how will we get to celebrate your losses!?!?!? You don't have to tell anyone what that number is -- you just deserve to know it so that you will be able to acknowledge when the number gets smaller and smaller.

Good job on walking, even if it is not as far as you want yet. You will build up your stamina in time, especially when it starts to cool off a bit.

Good luck and have a great day!

Hi!!!

Thanks for the PM...that was very nice~

I agree, you need to get on the scale...that way when you lose we can all celebrate. And if you gain...well it is not the end of the world! Tomorrow is a new day!

Great job on getting the walking in even though you didn't go as long as you would like. At least you got it in!

Hope you are having a great day.

Keep it up!

Jamie

Welcome - this is a great place to be especially as you are hitting those areas that you don't want to hit - like stepping on the scale. One day at a time is a good thing - we are all here to help you get through those rough times and help you step on the scale!!!!!!

Keep up the work - it will be hard as you know but you CAN do it, you WILL do it!!!!!! AND, you WILL keep it off!!!!!!

Keep on

Ehhhhhhhhhgad!!!! I just got off the scale!!!! Okay, okay --deep breath...in through the nose out through the mouth...better...better... :crazy2: that's it...now that the mystery is over I can face the facts and get down to business. :faint: I would say that I need to lose at least forty pounds. That is outrageous. I have to go into this commitment knowing that I will never yo-yo diet again. It is sad to think that 2 short years ago I was at my goal. I had arrived and was in a sweet spot. Dang! WHY did I sabotage myself? What makes me do this? If I can find out the answer to this question I will have a fighting chance to live a long life of good health. --Okay, enough said--I've got to go jump on the treadmill. Today begins the true first step. :thewave:

Here I am again...I did not walk today. I got things ready for my classroom. I worked on welcome letters for my students and parents. School opens in a couple of weeks and I am starting to get in my back to school drone-mode. I tend to get in my zone and not notice that an entire day has escaped. I ordered a new dress for back to school today. It made me sad to have to order a large size. I was hoping that I would be down a couple of sizes by the end of the summer. Oh well. Tomorrow I will start my day with a walk instead of letting the day slip away. I am thinking about looking into curves. I am worried about the finace part of it.

Ok a coupel things...school is about to start and that means less time and energy in your life. Why not try walking before school in order to get charged for the day. If not don't allow yourself to say I am tired and worked hard at work so therefore I deserve to sit on the couch. No you deserve to get up off your behind get out there, work, and have the body you want!

Also use clothes as motivation. You'll get to fit into those smaller cuter outfits once you stick to your plan!

Youre doing great!!! Just keep reminding yourself, I DESERVE TO BE HEALTHY!!

HI!!! Don't get too down on your self. You got on the scale...good job, and now you know what you need to do. It will happen, just stick to it. Some days it may be hard and others it may be easy. Some days you will feel like giving up and when you feel that way, that is why we are here. Come and chat. I promise you will feel better!!!!!

Keep up the good work. I agree, you clothes as a modivator. I went and bought some shorts and I was expecting to buy the same size, but to my surprise I was a size smaller. That is the best feeling in the world.

You CAN do this!!!

Keep it up

Today I took a long walk with my daughter. The heat kind of got to us. We walked about three miles. I wish I could say we were power walking, but alas it was at a normal pace. We got a couple of bottles of water at the market to drink on the way home. We tried the new flavored/spleda Dasani water. They were actually quite refreshing. Now...what to do about dinner....something healthy I'am sure about that. Off for now.

Good job at getting on the scale to get some motivation. Sometimes we need that jump start!!!! :)

One thing that I would do is set a timer for a couple of hours into my day and when it goes off then go out and go for a quick walk or get on the treadmill for 30 minutes. That might help some.

My dd starts school on Monday and I thought I was ready but now I'm not so sure.

Hang in there - took me a couple of weeks to really get rockin' too!!!!

Keep on
Chris
