Day 9 Saturday, July 13
The Big Family Trip to WDW Day 9
We sleep in this morning (well kinda, it's 9:00 before we make it to the bus stop). Instead of heading over to DD and DQ this morning, we decide to go back to MGM and do WWTBAM, TOT, and Rnr again. I've convinced my daughter and wife to ride TOT, so this should be interesting.
After making it through security we head over to TOT and get FP's and head over to WWTBAM and as luck would have it they just open the doors to start seating. I mess up on the fast finger question since I rushed it. Oh well. I do pretty well and answer the questions as soon as the lights light up. Still don't make it to the top 10 despite answering all the questions right????? Don't know how to answer any faster so a lot of people must be answering them right and just as fast.
We're within our FP return time and head on over to TOT. Before riding TOT we get our FP's for Rnr. I request a seat up front and to my surprise my wife and daughter actually love TOT. I requested the seat up front so that we could get our photo. Excellent photo and we buy it along with the frame. We also buy the Hollywood Tower Hotel DVD (which is actually pretty good).
It's lunch time so decide to grab lunch while we wait for our FP return time for RnR. After lunch we ride RnR and we buy matching T's for RnR for all. If you will remember I have two anytime FP's for RnR left over from our first day to MGM and my daughter and I will use them (since my son has ridden it 4 times). We ride RnR again and its just as good as the 1st time.
I count myself lucky to have been able to ride ToT 4 times, RnR 5 Times.
We do a little more shopping and I find a really good Citizen Mickey Watch and my son finds a kids Mickey Watch and buys it with his money.
Since tomorrow is our last day, we can't have the packages delivered so we take the bus back to AS Music to drop off the packages and then we catch the bus over to DD and DQ.
As soon as we get off of the bus it really starts to rain, and as luck would have it, we decided to leave the poncho's at the motel. We use the umbrealls and they do a pretty good job of keeping us dry up top, but our shorts and shoes are soaked by the time we make it to DQ.
Inside DQ it is pretty much packed. We are able to do the Raft adventure with no wait. But end up having to wait about 30 minutes for Pirates.
Pirates is really good and we end up scoring 2800 points and we almost make it to the end before the ghost pirate ship sinks us.
We wander around a little, but the place is just too packed and we really don't see anything worth standing in line for. Our shorts have dried out, but our shoes are still soaked. So we decide to head back to the All Star Music to dry out.
After several days of park food, it's time to go somewhere else for dinner. So everyone decides to go to Chili's for dinner. Good food, reasonable prices, and very satisfying. We make it back to the AS Music and hit the pool for some relaxation.
IMHO, we should have skipped Disney Quest and gone to Typhoon Lagoon instead. The rain while hard, was brief and our time would have been much better spent at TL. If I had it to do all over again I would only do DQ once we had done all of the other parks.
Tomorrow we have to check out
and it will be our last day at WDW
