We are on the countdown.
Only 136 days (I think).
My children are 4, 4, and 12. My 4 year olds don't really understand how long 4 months is (we are going for Free Dining in August/Sept) but at the same time, my daughter is soooo excited and can't stop talking about it (okay, me too)...so we decided to do some fun things to help us get "geared up" for the big trip and to help my youngest two understand "how much longer".
We made a paper chain tonight...and gosh it is long!
It is all one color except that for our WDW trip, our upcoming beach trip, and our family camping trip we used different colored paper. This makes it easy for my youngest two children to easily see the exciting upcoming events.
We also made a chart of daily goals/chores for the kiddos. Each night, they get a sticker for completing that chore or meeting their goal. Each sticker is worth a quarter. On Sundays, we plan to have Disney Family Fun Nights and on those nights, we will pay the children for all the stickers that they earned and that money will go in the Disney Spending Money Fund. (Our deal with the kids was that we'd buy the park tickets, meals and hotel...but all trinkets and extras were their responsibility so they are working hard to earn trading pin and ice cream money...in less than a month they have already earned over 100.00!) We plan to also watch a Disney movie or play a Disney game that evening as a family. (I may steal some of the other posters' ideas for Disney theme nights/
