The Big Cook

Has any one here heard of it or tried it? Dh and I do our own version of it using the cookbook. We have a few favorite recipies already sloppy joes being one. I know its a canadian thing I was just curious how many americans have heard of it?

It looks like this is a take on once a month cooking or freezer cooking. I've done this kind of thing before. you just double or triple the recipe, freeze it in portions, and viola....dinner's ready. It's a time saver. I started doing it when i realized how much money we were spending eating out. It seemed we were always running around in the evenings, practices, school events, what have you, and dinner was on the run.

Cooking this way takes a little planning and some prep work initially, but once it's all in the freezer, the time savings (and $$ savings) is worth it. A caution though, a lot of the recipes out there aren't that healthy. I found I had to do some modifying, and creative planning to make it work for us.

WOW! I had never heard of this, thanks so much for sharing. I have never heard of the book but always talk about getting together with friends and doing something like this, now we have a guide!

DH is so picky though, I wonder how many recipes he would eat.
