Okay all of you Atkins groupies.........

After our marvelous anniversary trip to NYC for our anniversary, DH has decided that he wants to go back again!!!

We've taken the Atkins pledge, so I was wondering how we go about doing Atkins at restaurants. Just tell the server "No bread, no potatoes, no sauces" ?

Give me some ideas........ please!! :confused: :confused: :confused:
 
Whenever I go to a restaurant now, I always order extra veggies in place of the potatoes. I just say No Thank you, can I please have more veggies or something like that. It works out great because I love any seafood or steak, so that and veggies work well! :)

Yep, that's pretty much it. Just try to order things that you know don't have high carb items (like pasta, potatoes, etc.) and if it comes with potatoes- ask for whatever veggie they might have instead. Most places have a veggie mix they can replace it with- usually broccoli with something like squash/etc. Avoid carrots if they are with it though... just pick those out if you don't want to ask them to not have carrots with it.

I really don't like cooked veggies, other than green beans- but I love fresh!
So if I have to make due with a salad and meat/chicken/fish.... well- I can do it!!! I'll just have to say "no sauce/gravy either please".
