The Best & Worst Concert You've Been To

Oh my god - I was at the Blonde Ambition Tour too! I won my tickets off Capital Radio!

:thumbsup2 how cool to have won tickets! I remember they were like gold dust at the time. We were walking down 'Wembley Way' and touts kept asking if we wanted to sell our tickets, I wouldn't have parted with mine for any amount of money :goodvibes

By far the worst one for me was Whitney Houston years ago - it was so bad she ended up being booed :sad2:

The best for me was Lifehouse :thumbsup2 and I am hoping they will be as good again when I see them again next month - I can't wait

Best ever - 1983 Journey Escape Tour (JOhn Cougar opened)

WORST - 1998 Willie Nelson. No one should ever give that man a drink, or a mic...

Best: I  The Killers and have seen them at least once every year since 2005. All of their gigs have been awesome.

Worst: I saw Britney Spears in 2009 and she was just awful! While she used to be an amazing performer, she's definitely past her prime now. :sad2:

I can't say I've really been to a 'bad' concert.

The worst was probably Britney Spears 'Onyx Hotel Tour'.

Wasnt that she was bad, but we had a couple in front of us, wearing business clothes, in their 30s who kissed the whole time, so we couldnt see and the girls behind us were only 14 or so and really upset about it.

I asked the guy if they could stop please and he called me the C word! A guy in suit?!? I was only like 18.

So we then grouped up with the girls behind us and screamed our lungs out for the whole next 45 minutes, I hope he had a headache afterwards.....I may have also kicked over his box of mintrels when we he wasn't looking....

Best would be any of the Take That come back ones, probably the last one (Circus) at Wembley Stadium being the best.

I have tickets for this time round but as Robbie's going to be there it's not as exciting a prospect for me......

Best one was Bruce Springstein in Paris. It was an outdoor concert back in the 80's and everyone was sitting around in shorts and t shirts with a few drinks. He was on for 4 hours and when he needed a break, he'd sit on stage and tell stories about growing up. Absolutely brilliant :goodvibes

Was that 85 at the Courneuve or 88 at Hippodrome de Vincences ?

88 was one of the best concerts I've been to. We were in the first rows and we sang and danced for hours. Bruce talked to the crowd, told stories and just went on and on.
We had had a huge suprise that night before as well as he'd played totally unannonced at the Sos Racisme concert

:goodvibes

Hi,
We did both... Born in the USA Tour June 1985 but I always remember The Tunnel of Love Tour June 1988. Still have the sweatshirt at the back of the wardrobe :rotfl2:

We were living in Jersey CI and we had a convoy of coaches leading the way to Paris. On our return , we had a Bruce Springsteen reunion in Jersey and won tickets for a day to St Malo. Best concert ever :cool1:

We also saw Queen - June 14, 1986, with Belouis Some, Level 42 and Marillion.

It was cheaper to go to Paris by coach for 3 days and 2 nights than a flight to London for a concert.

Those were the days with no kids

I noticed that he was playing again at smaller venues, I dont think he could capture the magic, or maybe I am older now but didn't fancy seeing him again. But I hope you enjoy. Would you let us know how it went tho'.

Cheryl, the concert was really good, much better than we had anticipated TBH!! Adam came on to the stage looking like Jack Sparrow's older brother ;)

It was a really punky / rock concert and there were people of all age groups who sang along to almost every song. It was a great atmosphere and Adam himself was on top form, his anecdotes in between songs were interesting and he was funny telling them - something I didn't expect him to be like, I don't know why!

He played for one of the longest encores ever and it seemed like he didn't want to leave the stage. We all enjoyed ourselves and if he toured again next year we agreed we would want to go again :goodvibes

Thats really good, I am glad you enjoyed it. I have to say that I really loved him when I was 14 years old. Might give it a shot next year then.
Did he do stand and deliver? or Ant music , these were my favourites along with Prince Charming!

What a good thread!

My best concert was green day at Maddison square gardens- totally amazing

Been lucky to see Bon Jovi (5 times), madonna, def leopard , guns and roses, faith no more. We also saw poison ,motley crew and skid row at house of blues Orlando .

Not worst but I went with dh to see Joe satrinani at hob - I spent the whole night waiting for the one song I thought I knew- however the song was from Santana and Joe was a guitar soloist:wizard::rolleyes1

Yes he sang all of those, Antmusic was my favourite too :) He even sang the B - side of it (fall in) which I had probably not listened to since about 1981!!

As well as his own stuff he also did covers of Honky Tonk Woman and Get it On as well as a version of Y.M.C.A. renamed A.N.T.S.

Thats good , I am glad you had a great time , something to think about next year maybe.:thumbsup2

My best concert was Tim Minchin last December at the O2... He's a musician/ comedian and he had a full orchestra with him - it was amazing!
xxx

Agree 100%! Tim Minchin is amazing, and one of the best rock gigs/ comedy tours I have ever seen! The Orchestra was fab too! I saw him in Nottingham, I would be interested to hear if the O2 was any different.

Worst would be the Guide concert we went to when I was 12ish, all the acts were naff (even for pre-teen standards). I just remember being so bored the whole time!

I haven't been to a bad concert, the best concert I've been to is Take That - The Circus closely followed by their Progress tour I went to last week :)

Best concert Paul McCartney @ hammersmith Apollo dec 2010. No words for it expect for amazing! Worst was Bon jovi in Hyde park :-( terrible sound quality and jbj sounded awful as well!

Again, never really been to a bad concert, but we went to see REM a few years ago and i ended up with sun stroke (not really their fault :rotfl2:)

The best concert is probably Red Hot Chili Peppers at Manchester, but i am going to see Take That on Wednesday so i may being saying different after that :)

The best concert I've ever been to was in Berlin, seeing Metallica perform with the Berlin Symphony Orchestra. I spent 48 hours travelling from Sheffield to Berlin by coach and it was worth every minute! :goodvibes

Never had any real awful 'musical' concert experiences, but I did see Rage against the Machine in Manchester in 96 and truly felt that I might die due to being crushed in the centre of the crowd. I nearly passed out and only really saved myself by hugging my arms around my chest and pushing out as hard as I could until I found a way out. Still an awesome gig once I recovered at the side!

Hmmmm, a toughy but i'd say my best and worst were probably the same one!

My mum bought us tickets to see Bon Jovi last year at the O2 on the last day they were supported by Kid Rock.

Kid Rock was awesome, BJ not so much.
