The best ride at california adventures

For me, California Screamin is the best ride. I am not a big fan of wild roller coasters, but Screamin' is just right! I do it as often as possible.

My ranking would go like this: (I like all of these)

Tower of Terror
Soaring over Cali
Cali Screamin'
Mulholland Madness
Maliboomer
Monsters Inc.
Sunwheel
Orange Peel

Check out the Whoopi show about Cali and The Bugs Life show too. Aladdin and Muppets 3-D are good as well. Definitely grab your tortilla and sourdough also, freebies are fun!

Orange Peel? it does look like that, doesn't it!~

I think the Whoopi show is great (so is Bugs) but am sad Whoopi is going away (though glad there will be another (hopefully) E-ticket ride in DCA. I hope they don't take the film away completely.

Another reason to enjoy The Whoopi show as it will be gone completely as that spot is where the $100 million dollar Ariel adventure dark ride is going to be.

I forgot to mention Grizzly River Run, that ride is great!

I love the shrimp louie in the sour dough breadbowl at the Pacific Wharf. Yum! And the free tortilla samples at the factory! I just wish they'd give it to you warm with some nice melted butter on it, oh man!

As far as rides, I seem to agree with a lot of people here; Soarin' is number 1! How many rides can you go on and actually have people applaud at the end? If you've never been on it, I will not spoil it. But I'll just say it's a really nice trip they take you on. :thumbsup2

#2 for me is Screamin', excellant ride! Just remember to keep your head back firmly against your headrest when you start!

#3 Tower of Terror. Whoo Hoo! Fun...lots of fun! You will scream, but have a smile on your face, too! :scared1:

OK, somebody help me out here. When is Golden Dreams closing, and when is this new ride going in? My trip is at the end of June and I'd love to see the show a couple of more times before it's gone!

What in the world is the Whoopi Show? :rotfl:

My favorite is Soarin'! Even my mom, who hasnt gone on a theme park ride in at least ten years, loved that ride once I convinced her that it wasn't scary. She said it was the best ride she's ever been on!

I also really liked the Grizzly rapids, but I have trouble convincing everyone to go on it with me since you get wet. I have to bribe my husband with nachos.

The only time we ate at DCA we got Pizza Oom..it was ok but nothing that made me want to walk over there again. This time we are going to try Trattoria, I'm very excited about it since looking at all the pictures in the dining thread

1. Screamin, 2. Grizzly, 3. Soarin'

Had a pretty good panini sandwich and some fruit at Bakersfield bakery, but next time I'm trying the bread bowls and the corn(y) dogs. :thumbsup2

I think you might just make it as I know it will be gone in the next year, I don't think they have anounced a date to close it exactly.

Hopefully when they do tear that theatre down they will immediately start construction on the new dark ride.

the Whoopi show is the Golden Dream theater movie about the history of Califonia--it's very good. It is never well attended that I've seen and it's really inspiring. I think every school age kid in California should see it--although the ending is a bit sappy.

Ohh that's right! Thanks much :) I actually haven't seen that either, I should make a point to before it's no longer there (if it itsn't already closed when I go).

..and the Corn Dog place is closed when we are there (May 14-17) but don't know if they will be closed when the OP is there. Darn :(

There's always the Corn Dog cart on Main Street in DL--I know some people prefer one over the other (but honestly, I can't tell a difference). So you can still get your corn dog fix!

I was there last week. My favorite - California Screamin'. I've been on alot of roller coasters and this one is the best!

My favorite rides are GRR and Soarin. If forced, I would probably say Soarin edges out GRR by a hair.

Food is harder! I love the hot link corn dogs at Corn Dog Castle and HusbandMan cannot resist the ribs at Taste Pilot's. We love the bread bowls over at Boudin and for a fancier treat the Vineyard Room simply cannot be beat.

Does the cart have the hotlink corn dogs? Those are my Not So Secret passion. :rotfl:

Here was our strategy for the 3 rides we loved most:

We got simultaneous fast passes for Soarin' and Grizzly (the rapids' fast pass system isn't connected to the rest of the fast pass system, so you can get it even while you hold another!)

We'd then go ride Mulholland Madness over and over again (short lines, fun ride!) until it was time to redeem our passes!

And a tip for you--they've been handing out Dream Fast Passes at California Adventures between 10:30-11am in various points of the park (across bridges, by the main street area). Be on the lookout!

My favorite attraction is Mulholland Madness and my favorite eatery is Boudin Bakery. I order the Clam Chowder in Bread Bowl.
