We are doing Universal Studios ALL DAY , followed by Halloween Horror Nights.

We are staying in LBV area and are renting a car.

SHOULD WE EAT BY UNIVERSAL?

ARE THERE RESTAURANTS THAT WE CAN WALK TO??

HOW DO U WALK THERE? (sorry but all i remember is a HUGE parking lot
off the main universal studio entrance).......

any help appreciated

That depends what you mean by close to Universal. You mean at Citywalk or off their property?

To get to Citywalk, all you do is exit Universal Studios. The first restaurant you pass is a Hard Rock Cafe. Depending on if you go to the right or left, you will pass a variety of restaurants. These are all within a close proximity. :) There is a Nascar Cafe, NBA City, Margarittaville, Motown Cafe, Pat O'Briens, 2 Pastamore's (1 is afternoon sit-down, the other is all day counter service, the counter-service is very reasonable) Latin Quarter, (expensive), Emeril's (very expensive), & Bob Marley's, (I don't recommend this one). I think that's it. If I think of any more I'll post them, but I'm sure someone else will help you out. By the way, I would recommend any of these except BM's. It just depends on what type of atmosphere you are looking, and how much you want to spend. If you have more specific questions about any of the above restaurants, I'd be happy to try to answer them. :)

Just to clarify, it sounds like it may have been a while since you have been to Universal (if I'm misreading your post, I apologize in advance). Universal no longer has "a HUGE parking lot". They now have two big multi-level parking garages that lead to a common "hub" via moving sidewalks. There are some more moving walkways that take you into Citywalk, where all the restaurants, shops, and night clubs are. From there, you go left to Islands of Adventure (IOA), or right to Universal Studios Florida (USF). Besides all the restaurants mentioned in the post above, there are very good restaurants in both parks (Mythos, and Confisco Grill in IOA, and Lombard's Seafood Grille, and Finnegan's Bar and Grill in USF). There would be no reason, with the huge selection of restaurants in the parks and Citywalk, for you to leave Universal Orlando for dinner.
Hope you have a great time!

We tried the following restaurants after the parks closed:
NASCAR--the food was okay
Motown Cafe--food was very good (had the salmon)
Pastamore--very good (had the pasta primavera)

Try my new site, I made it for people like you.

Visit the park early in the morning, and go back to your hotel in the afternoon for a nap. Then come back by 4pm and head to the Stay and Scream area so you are in the park when HHN starts. Those people get a head start on the crowd.

If you stay in the park from morning thru the entire event, your feet will be tired.

Wow! Great directions and other info! I bookmarked your page for the next person that asks how to drive from WDW to Universal.

Another question that is asked quite often is the price for a taxi/Lynx bus/Mears/towncar between WDW and Universal. I would love to see some info on transportation between WDW and Universal. Most of the sites I found just had the prices from the airport to Universal or the airport to WDW.

wow! thank to "nogodforme" site that is amazing! you really can understand the roads and everything....

can you take photos/do you have photos of the palm parkway area????
