yeah, i always presumed it was his mother, but then i was like, ah! but Jesus' mother is also referred to as Mother Mary

I think he used a metaphor, like, the Virgin Mary to mean his mother, since she's watching over him. Yeah, kind of far-fetched, but that's the idea I get from it.
