I hope we don't lose power. It's looking really bad right now.

Religious Education.

Still waiting for a response from Kingston University... And UCAS hasn't updated yet -_-

I gotta go for awhile. I'll be back on later probably.

I should revise for Psychology, but I really can't be bothered... I know i'm not going to better then I already have...

Let's see if I can remember the strengths & weaknesses of individual differences...

I guess they're high in ecological validity, as Rosenhan's study into sane people being mistaken for insane (Type two mistake... Type one mistake is an insane person being mistaken for sane) took place with pseudo (fake) patients getting into a hospital for the insane. I guess Griffith's study could be considered ecologically valid, because it took place within an arcade in a coastal town, but the participants had their roles controlled.

If they're high in ecological validity, then it means they're low in control, which is a weakness. Can't be bothered to explain...

I need one more for each. Let's look at Holah.

I'm home for the day, I had to call out of school. My mom's back is terrible and has been really bad since the accident. I am staying home to take care of her. She is going to the back specialist, but she may go the hospital depending on what the specialist does.

What happened?

Aww im sorry.
I'll be praying for her.

OK, another strength is the use of psychometric tests such as IQ tests. They provide reliable and quantitative data (which is easier to draw conclusions from). Example would be the ones used for Thigpen & Cleckley's study into Eve's multiple personality disorder which found each of her personalities (Eve White, Eve Black, and Jane) got different results in the psychometric tests, and even had different brainwaves when using the electroencaphalogram.

One last weakness would be the ethical issues involved in labelling someone as 'different', as shown in the Rosenhan study where the pseudo patients were labelled as schizophrenic after saying they could hear a voice that said words like "thump", all except one person who was labelled with bi-polar disorder. The mental disorder labels stuck to the patients long after leaving the hospitals (reformed schizophrenic) and made it hard to get jobs and stuff...

Are you okay? lol

I need to revise for Psychology, so i'm just going over the strengths & weaknesses of one of the assumptions we learnt about. We were suggested to learn the individual differences because it hasn't come up in an exam yet.

The main assumption of individual differences is to explore the actions and thought processes that different people from each other.

From Holah - The main assumption of the individual differences perspective is that to understand the complexity of human behaviour and experiences it necessary to study the differences between people rather than those things that we all have in common. For example the individual differences approach largely focuses on things such as personality differences, and abnormality.

Im getting off for now.
I think im getting a headache from being on the laptop for so long. lol
I'll be back later.
Bye guys(:

She was in a car accident about a week ago, and her back has been giving her a lot of problems. She's only 37 and she is walking like she is 100. :sad2:
I really just hope the doctors can help fix it, I don't like seeing her in pain.

I hope everything works out ok.
