taking 8 year old and 5 year old in may, what is the best food outlet with entertainment for them???????:mickeyjum Shaka

I can't imagine a trip without Chef Mickey's. We do it twice every trip, one breakfast and one dinner (we prefer the breakfast.) It is the only place we have done on every single trip. Yummy and FUN!!! Plus, no waiting in line to meet the Fab 5!

We loved mickeys backyard bbq you get buffet food and drinks but also theres a party and you can dance with all the characters

DS(7) loved Ohanas. He was shy and timid at first but after a while, he warmed up and enjoyed the coconut races, dancing, and limbo games.

Definately do the Crystal Palace if they like the Winnie the Pooh characters...we did this twice now and our DD four year old and DS one year old loved it this year (went when DD was three as well and loved it). GREAT FOOD! I heard that Chef Mickeys was really great. We are planning on that character meal on next trip. Hoopty Doo was really really fun as well. Make your ADRs as soon as possible aLL three of these are VERY popular and fill up fast :) But if you dont get in remember....your trip is NOT RUINED :)

Have fun!!!

We haven't been to any dinner shows like Hoop De Do, but we also love Chef Mickey's and we also had a great time at Whispering Canyon (especially when you ask for ketchup) and the Wilderness Lodge.

We've done Whispering Canyon and Crystal Palace- WC is much wilder and CP is busy but can also be more relaxing.

We've done Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, and Play and Dine at Hollywood and Vine. CM and CP are really great. The food is great, the characters are amazing at both. Play and Dine didn't impress us. In fact, if your child isn't a huge fan of Jojo or the Einsteins, I'd say don't go.

If I had to pick one out of the other ones, I would say CP. the Pooh parade they do once an hour is a lot of fun and it's an excuse for kids to get up and walk around the restaurant. Also, everyone there was bend over backwards nice to my son. He asked to talk to one of the handlers and asked her how it felt to be Winnie the Pooh's best friend. I thought she was just going to melt. Then, when he asked Winnie the Pooh to look at his butt :scared1: to make sure that it had healed after being in Rabbit's hole, the bear was nice enough to even give it a little shake.:rolleyes1

As far as food, I would say that maybe CP is a little better than CM. They have more interesting choices and this purple cheese that I really enjoy.

we did the garden grill at epcot- it was wonderful!!! The food was great for adults and kids, we didn't have to get up for more but it was still all-you-can-eat, and we (particularly my son) got lots fo time with each of the character coming to our table. We will DEFINITELY be doing this one again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I second this one for lots of character-time!! (Our best Mickey photo was from there.) Plus, at least last time we went, the kids decorate their own cupcake for dessert, which DS loved!

Be forwarned, though, that the restaurant spins slowly around. - DH did not have quite as great a time the day he'd just gotten off Mission Space.

We did CM, CP, 1900 Park Fare, Cinderella's Castle, Ohana's, and Hoop Dee Do Musical when we went in Sept. My DD 7, Loved all of those. She really loved HDDMR. We both had a great time. Anyone is great.

We did the HDDMR in November. I was not happy about the food - fried chicken, ribs, beans, bread and strawberry shortcake. No veggie. I left hungry. The show was cute though.

You did not say weather they where boys or girls But if they are little princess then the princess breakfast at Norway in Epcot or 1900 Parkfare at the GF for supper with Cinderella both have excellent meals and great charter interaction

We did CRT, CP and CM on our trip and I thought that for food quality and interaction, we enjoyed CRT the most. But that is a difficult and pricey option. Between CP and CM we enjoyed CP the most. The pace was a little more relaxed between characters. There just wasn't enough time between the characters visiting for us to get food for the kids and ourselves. And the bathrooms were, like, two resorts over from the restaurant! So taking a little guy to the bathroom from our table was a squeeze to do between characters.

Our pictures at CM turned out much much better, though. And the picture they took in front of the plate was our Christmas card pic! Everyone looked the same direction and had a happy expression! A rare feat!
