Today we would be arriving at Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay (pronounced ‘key’, not ‘kay’). We slept in a little this morning, so Kevin went to grab breakfast from Parrot Cay (again, ‘key’, not ‘kay’) and coffee while I got ready. We had a wonderful breakfast on the verandah as we pulled up to the island. I was kinda bummed because Kevin told me that Cove Café (fake Starbucks) was closed this morning. On our way to see the Golden Mickey’s we decided to swing by and see if they had opened yet. So here is something I will never let Kevin forget. Cove Café wasn’t closed, he just didn’t walk up close enough for the AUTOMATIC doors to open! DOH!! So I got my coffee fix and we headed downstairs.

The show was awesome, and you guessed it, I cried through the whole thing!! Once it had finished we were ready to disembark. The weather had really cleared up, and although breezy, it was great. We had a quick picture taken at the pier and were off to collect our snorkeling equipment. We threw our stuff down and put our flippers on and were off. The water was a little cold, but we adjust quickly. We had gotten out about 20 feet when I freaked out. I don’t know what it was, I am sure it wasn’t the sign that warned you of SHARKS, STINGRAYS, JELLYFISH AND BARRACUDAS! Kevin assured me nothing was out there and let’s keep swimming (‘Just keep swimming’ as Dory would say). Well I was fine until we saw fish. Apparently I am afraid of them, even though they all swam away from me. Kevin turns and says, what did you think we were supposed to see? We will just say snorkeling is not my thing and I went back to the beach to relax in a hammock. Kevin ventured back out into the water to try and find the sunken Mickey statue. He was disappointed to find it had been removed due to damage by the hurricane.

We gathered up our things and were in search of food. I had to purchase a new pair of sunglasses, as mine just broke. We also bought a few postcards, for the scrap book, and then were off to lunch.

Lunch was great!! Another banana smoothie (don’t forget the rum!) fruit salad, burgers, lobster burgers, ribs, pasta salad and frozen yogurt!! Everything was great and Kevin went back for seconds on the lobster burgers!!

We decided to head over to Serenity Bay, the adults-only beach. Let’s just say we were not impressed and immediately turned back. After attempting to get in the water at the family beach, we decided it was too cold and wanted to return to the boat.

The boat was nice and quiet although there were quite a few people at the adult pool. Kevin ordered me a drink (chocolate shake with Baileys and Kahula). Very expensive, but very good!! We swam a little, relaxed and then returned to our stateroom. We took our time showering and getting ready, even sneaking in a little nap J Our luggage had to be outside before 11 p.m. so we packed it all up so it was ready.

Tonight was our last night on the boat and also the Disney Dreams show. We were early for the show, so Kevin and I decided to have some professional pictures taken. After being seated, Kevin went to grab some Kahula and Creams (I got him hooked!) Unfortunately the bar he went to, didn’t stock half and half so the bartender ran to the other end of the ship. When he finally got back, there wasn’t enough half and half for whole drink, let alone two, so it was on the house!

Disney Dreams was nice, I liked the Golden Mickey’s better (Kevin preferred Disney Dreams). After the show we went back to the promenade lounge to get some real Kahula and Creams. Before dinner, we stopped by Shutters to check on our pictures. The professional pictures weren’t supposed to be done until after 10 p.m. but they were there early and they looked so nice!! Kevin and I agreed that after dinner we would come back and decide which ones to buy, as we had around 15 pictures from the whole trip.

Dinner tonight was at Animator’s Palate and we had been looking forward to going here more than anywhere else. We were seated with our tablemates and decided to try a glass of wine that we had sampled at the wine tasting. The restaurant was beautiful, but none of us were impressed with the food. It’s funny because I didn’t even want to go to Tritons, because I don’t like seafood, but I think that was my favorite.

Dinner was over and we still had to run upstairs and put our luggage out, and since Shutters was only open until 11 p.m. we wanted to make sure we got those pictures. Well we ended up buying 5 pictures and received a free folder-frame with a beautiful picture of the boat. After our purchase was complete we ran downstairs to Wavebands. There was a last minute addition to the entertainment. It was a comedy show, I wish I could remember his name because it was hysterical!! Oh and one more Kahula and Cream for us J We had missed most of the show, so once it was over we went upstairs. Since the weather was so bad the night before, they had rescheduled the fireworks for tonight. They were amazing. They shot three sets of fireworks off into the ocean! We had front-row seats at the railing on deck 10.

We headed back to the room to find the cutest sunglasses-wearing puppy on the bed (see pictures). We slept with the doors to the verandah open tonight and got a great nights sleep.
