So, I wanted to put something special together for my bride-to-be, so I could give her something that people would be talking about for years to come. I had no idea what I was going to do.

Then I came across a post on this board that talked about how you can get autographed pictures from Mickey and Minnie if you write to them.

I thought, "you know, if Mickey and Minnie will write you congrats letters and pictures, I wonder who else will". So I started writing celebs who I could find contact info on.

So far, I've gotten really nice autographed pictures and/or letters with congrats notes to me and my fiancee from:

Phil Gordon (Celeb. Poker Showdown)
Bob Barker (The Price Is Right)
Regis Philbin (you know Regis!)
Bobby Flay (Iron Chef America)
Larry King (CNN, Larry King Live)
Brad Henry (Governor of Oklahoma)
Criag Groeschel (lifechurch.tv)
Gary England (local celeb.)

These letters are awesome, and I'm scrapbooking them to give to my bride at the rehearsal dinner!

www.fanmail.biz is where I'm getting the addresses to send the letters to. Check the boards they have there to see if anyone is getting feedback from the celeb you are trying to write.

Epcotking- what a great idea! Thanks for including the link. DF is obsessed w/ Lance Armstrong so I am going to give it a try :)

Thats a wonderful idea! We got ours from The President and First Lady... and I'm going to try for a few more!!

I wonder if Stan Lee would respond... :thumbsup2

I wrote a letter just generally stating what I was trying to do, requesting a letter of congrats or a personalized picture signed for myself and my bride to be.

The first one I got back was our Governer, which took about 5 days. Bob Barker took about 8 days. I'm recieving them on a daily basis now.

You can also send just your wedding invitation to the pope, president, and mickey addresses and they will reply. I think that is very cool.

You know, the Prez only writes back to selected letters. I sent one off anyway. Thanks for the tip though.

I got a cool one today....Governor Arnold Schwartzeneger!

Got 2 more in my office mail -

Mario Batali (Iron Chef America)
Daniel Negraneau (Poker Player)

So it's been about 2 months since my last post and here's who i've recieved since then:

Bob Saget
Betty White (we love the match game reruns)
John Travolta
Dustin Hoffman
Sarah Jessica Parker
Jay Leno
Martina McBride
George Stienbrenner
Leah Remini
Gene Wilder
Neil Diamond
Matthew McCougnehey
plus some other local celebs

I'm really getting excited about the wedding! 59 days to go!
