I just have a plain denim messenger bag from Target that I use. It's got enough pockets in front for my stuff, and a big pocket in the back for the baby stuff. I also use ziplocs for the diaper change stuff.

I have to say that we also use the two-bag approach. We have a LE diaper bag that goes under the stoller and I wear the fanny pack. With the humidity in Florida, my hair frizzes like crazy so it's not like I'm ever going to look good while we're there. I might as well go for the convenience of the fanny pack!

I love my LE diaper bag. It is over 6 years old and on it's third baby, but it still looks like new. I'm not much for backpacks because it always seems like they are on my back and I'm holding a sleeping baby when I need something out of them. With the diaper bag, I can just reach down to get what I need.

Just one more thought.....we also pack a small insulated bag, almost like a lunch bag, with an ice pack to carry drinks in for the little one. It will fit right down inside the diaper bag.
