Upcoming August Trip - (Preview)
"As we awaken you from your restful dreams,
We hope your stay with us continues to be a truly magical one."
The last day in the parks. They always try to make it a good one. Because my family has their car, they can park hop which is is not as easy when taking Disney transportation. Also, a real timesaver is the AAA parking pass which lets you park up front in each parking lot (usually in the first or 2nd row).
Park #1 -My Dad woke up early and walked from the Dolphin to MGM (early admission park). He had not done the Tower of Terror yet, and it was one of his favorites. He did the one ride and took the boat back, while my Mom and the teenager got up.
Park #2 - They drove to Epcot and parked in AAA parking. They ran to Test Track and was on fairly quickly. Then went over to Living Seas. Now they have an announcer which states, "The movie is more educational than entertaining." It's like giving you a ticket to pass on the movie. At The Living Seas they saw the new Crush show. Very cute! He is an animation, who answers peoples' questions - Dude! Amazing how they do it. Another favorite exhibit is the manatees. Everybody loves them.
More video postcards were sent from Innoventions - which are free - and are fun to look at when everybody gets home.
Park #3 - Animal Kingdom - AAA parking. Got fast pass for Safari ride. Rode Dinosaur with only a 10 minute wait. Next time my Mom's going to wear earplugs. She might be able to keep her eyes open then. Mom and the teenager did Triceratops Spin while Dad took pictures. They rode the Safari ride with their fast passes. For some reason, it was not as rough a ride as on previous trips. Lots of animals were out including 2 baby elephants - too cute! Got fast passes for It's Tough To Be A Bug, then rode Primieval Whirl. It's not as scary as it looks. They ate lunch at a new place for them - Pizzafari. They were really looking forward to it because they had heard it was good. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a disappointment. There was nowhere to sit inside, and the outside had trash everywhere. They ended up getting - cheese pizza ($5.49), 2 pepperoni pizzas - ($5.79/each), order of breadsticks - ($3.99), and coke ($2.29). I wonder why coke is more here and only $1.99 everywhere else? Maybe it was the extra large size. Anyway, I'm afraid to say that they will probably be writing this place off their list. After lunch they saw the Bug Show with fast passes - although they probably didn't need them.
Park #4 - Drove to the Magic Kingdom and parked in AAA. There were 5 turkeys walking around in the parking lot. Got a fast pass for Buzz Lightyear, then rode Peoplemover, did the Timekeeper show, then did Buzz Lightyear using the fast passes. They looked at doing Mickey's Philharmagic but the time was a 45 minute wait so they did not go. They took the monorial to the TTC and drove back to the Dolphin Hotel.
Park #5 - My Mom really wanted to do the Epcot Candlelight Processional so they walked over there from the Dolphin for the 7:00 p.m. show. Rita Moreno was the host. The teenager said, "I saw her in West Side Story!" It had started sprinkling by this time which turned into a downpour. My family was loitering around by the stroller parking because there was a big line to get seated in the (outdoor) theatre by people who had ordered the dinner package. Finally, after all of those people got seated, everyone else could fill in. Umbrellas started going up and coats started going on. By the end of the show, nearly everyone had left because it was pouring. My Mom had already told my Dad and the teenager that she wasn't leaving until it was all over. Some people stayed dry who were under the overhang. They weren't one of those! The show was great with the choirs in a procession with candles, and the orchestra was good too. The entire show was very inspirational. After that was dinnertime at the Liberty Inn (American Pavilion). They ordered - Jr. jello ($.99), kids hot dog with fries and lemonade ($3.99), and vegetarian salad ($5.59).
The next day was the long car ride home and another Disney trip was almost over. Next report - Observations (Review) and Upcoming (Preview).
