The Beach Club is the MOST AMAZING resort ever!!!!

I have to say that I agree that this is a WONDERFUL resort!!!! I actually cried when we walked into the lobby! It was sooo beautiful!

My DH, DNephew and I stayed there Aug 8-16 and we had the best time at the resort. We had a nice view of SSE (Epcot Ball) at night. I was excited to discover this one night laying in bed, as during the day the view was, well, of a roof! Absolutely beautiful room and very spacious! Loved the bathroom and just the floor space was so nice, being that my nephew can be very messy. Wonderful mousekeeping and roomservice.

At first we were disappointed with the food selections at the Market Place, as we were "late" for breakfast one morning. And when I say late, I mean 8:30 and they completely ran out of breakfast foods other than a danish. Definitely not worth spending Dining credits here. But no biggie! We adapted and had some really nice table service meals at the YC/BC! I would return alone for the food!

The movies on the beach were heavenly! A great way to relax at night and spend time at the resort!

The resort staff was also very helpful during and after our stay. I had decided to go without using a wheelchair this trip and just use my rollator (walker). Well only one day into the trip, I was in a great deal of pain. Walking was not an option any more. The CM at the concierge desk graciously gave me a wheel chair to use for the week at no charge, nor a deposit needed. After we returned home, I discovered that I left all of my expensive make up at the hotel. I was worried that mousekeeping might just throw it out. But after a phone call to the hotel, the manager of guest relations overnighted the make up to me!

I just can't say enough about the BC. It is too my new favorite resort! :yay:

We just returned from our stay 8/26-9/5 and I do have to say this was not the perfect resort.
Negatives.
1. The marketplace staff was inattentive in the foodservice area. Hot choc machine was out most of the week. They actually argued in front of me who would look for the m.mouse ice cream bar in the freezer. I asked if I could replace it with another option (cheaper) and was told I couldn't as they argued for another two minutes.
2. The pool was great, until the villa room rates went down on Sept 1 and the villa "squatters" came in, spread their towels around to several chairs beside them so others would not sit next to them, and drank all day. They stayed at the pool for several hours at a pop. (They were easy to spot because they have their 1998 refillable mugs when not drinking pina coladas, and get annoyed at anyone using the dining plan.)
3. House keeping was not great either. Cob webs in our room for the whole trip, no dusting and wet sheets in our neighbors room on check in.
4. CS options at the market place stink.
Positives
1. Location
2. pool- best in disney
3. Art the greater. Nicest ever.
4. lilo and stitch hide and seek in the lobby
Overall
Very good stay but I will stick to the Polynesian next time

We are leaving in 16 hours. I can't wait. It sounds wonderful! This will be our 2nd trip as DVC members. We stayed at SSR the first trip. We use the dining plan and love to be near people at the pool. We are meeting my son and daughter in law. I already know its going to be a magicl trip. Afterall...IT IS THE HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH. God Bless!:yay:

Well, I sure hope it is as good as everyone says it is, or almost everyone. We couldn't get into the Poly this trip, still trying. The place is booked! Looking foward to trying out the famous SAB. :goodvibes

Glad you had a great stay! YC/BC is a very fine resort. One of our favorites for sure!

YC and BC are separate resorts. They are located right next to each other and share some amenities, but they are not "one" resort.

I'm so sorry your stay wasn't as nice as the one my family and I enjoyed, and we were there at the same time too :confused3 . I found the marketplace staff to be very attentive but we were only in there for food one time. There's no way I would depend on that small crowded space for one of our main sources for food!! I was unconcerned with the marketplace :snooty: because we love Beaches & Cream and we were right there at Epcot and the Boardwalk. So we had a host of food options right there at us. Personally, I think the location far out weighs to lack of CS options at the BC. As far as the "Villa squatters" are concerned, I really didn't take the time to try and notice something like that. I was having too much fun enjoying the resort and my family. I did see some old mugs being used but I've seen that when we stayed at the Polynesian and the Wilderness Lodge too. Unfortunately, I think you will find that at every resort. Our room was very clean. Our carpet was even damp from where they had just cleaned it. I do have to agree with you on your positives, but some how we missed ever getting to meet Art!:sad1: Oh well, I guess we'll have to wait till next time!

I am so happy you enjoyed your stay at the BC.
It sounds like you a good time.
I think the activites in the lobby, at the pool, and the movies and marshmellow at the beach are part of the new pilot program.

I am sorry to say the pilot program is ending the end of this month.:sad1: (September 2007)

----------------------------------------------------------------
There is a new pilot program at All Star Music and BC&YC:
This program is all about trying to get guests to return to WDW resorts.
ASMu has a new pilot program going on.
I was told several managers from some of Disney's deluxe resorts were transferred to ASMu to help get this program up and running.

I just read that some outstanding managers from the GF, (DJ and Ellen) have been spotted at ASMu.

From this thread:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Here is a little info about the new pilot program at All Star Music and BC&YC:

I called All Star Music a few days ago and asked about the pilot program and I was informed it will only last through September but if All Star Music and YC&BC (which also has a similar program ) get enough positive feedback they may expand this program to all of the resorts! Yeah. So anyone is going to All Star Music Or BC & YC (which has a similar prorgram please fill out the pilot survey which is at the front desk .Please be honest but please fill them out.

There will also be CM's in the parks which will ask guests to fill out surveys. They are usually in the parks from about 8-10 A.M. and try to interview about 30 guests a day who will take the time to answer the surveys.

The manager I talked to sent me a list of the activities they have planned for September.
For a full list of the activities please see post # 1 of this tread:

http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1565556

The pilot program is not just about the games and movies but it is really about better guest service.

Having more staff available at check in so guests can check in a more timely manner.
Having clean rooms ready at check in so guests do not have to wait until the late afternoon for a clean room.
Having more staff on hand so a guest can have any questions or concerns taken care of right away.

I was told they are getting the results from those surveys the next morning and actions are immediately being taken to correct problems or congratulate success.

I was told that this program is ending the end of September but if they get lots of good feedback they may extend this type of service to the other resorts as well.

I am really hoping they get lots positive response to this program.
I was told that so far there has been quite a bit of positive response from guests at All Star Music but the BC & YC has not been getting many responses.

My guess is not very many guests know this is a pilot program so they do not respond.

Here are a couple of posts I came across the last 2 days.

From this thread:

And from this thread:

I was told that there is hope that with enough interest that they may be able to keep a lot of the great things happening at AS Music and YC & BC and be able to expand to other properties. I was also told that this pilot is all about trying to improve intent to return.

The manager I spoke with me that the best thing that guests can do is when they check out of the resort, they should take the survey and give feedback (honest feedback about anything good or bad they experienced).

If you think you would like this pilot program to continue....
If you think you would like this pilot program to other resorts....
If you have been unhappy wit long lines at check in or
having to wait until the late afternoon to get your room assignment at any of Disney's resorts .
If you feel there should be more staff at all of Disney's so they can help guests with any questions or concerns then this is our chance to let the WDW execs know!

Now I will be first to admit that the "suits" at WDW should already know these things are a part of good customer service...
But we need to let WDW know that we appreciate these basic customer services. We do not want to give the WDW execs the excuse to drop the ball by saying "Based on our polling, the guests don't value these services.
We can continue our cost cutting measures ."

If you would like contact Disney about these services and this pilot program the addresses are:

Walt Disney World Guest Communications
PO Box 10040
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830-0040

wdw.guest.communications@disneyworld.com

Let's let Disney know we like this new program and we want it to continue and expand to the other resorts as well!

Thanks ........And......
Have fun at Disney!

This must have been implimented at POP also. We just had a split stay at POP/BWV and there was a manager moving the line at check in and someone bowling with children in the lobby. There was not a 5 minute wait. Good for Disney for trying this..Interestingly enough we were treated to a beach movie at Portofino Bay in Universal! They do it weekly. Competition is a good thing!
;)

Back to OP..I like BW better then BC though BC is beautiful too. I had major issues in the Villa's.

YC and BC are separate resorts. They are located right next to each other and share some amenities, but they are not "one" resort.

Why do you consider them seperate? They have seperate check in areas but they are connected under one continous building and one management team. They share all amenties.

Just curious?

Julie,

I have never actually stayed in a BC room. (It's one of the very few disadvantages of being a DVC member at Beach Club Villas!)

There are photos of the "couch" i.e. sofa i.e daybed in standard room at http://www.allearsnet.com/acc/g_bc.htm .
Both major guidebooks, the Unofficial Guide and the Passport, describe standard rooms at the Beach Club as having a ("double size") daybed.

Finally, Disney's own website shows a photo of a typical room with a clearly visible daybed. However they use the following language:
"Most rooms are available with two queen-size beds (available with daybed). Select rooms are available with two double beds or a single King bed."

Unlike the Yacht Club, where the room configurations are very consistent, there are some rooms at the Beach Club that are "different". I don't know details, but I suggest that if a daybed is crucial for you, that you say so by adding it as a request on your reservation.

Thanks for the advice. Will put it as a request as if DS and DD have to share I think I will get back on the next plane :rotfl2:
