The Beach, A Savanna, and The FLU - May June Trip Report

That is pretty neat that the other family you saw is going to the same place you guys are!! Gotta love how most everyone in the world has a love for disney!!!

Okay, that's too much of a coincidence that that family checked in at the same place as you, then stopped at the same gas station as you IN A DIFFERENT STATE, and then on top of all of that, had the same type of vehicle as you, too! I'm wondering if you will meet up with this family again sometime during the trip to Disney!

And yes, I LOVE THE DISNEY SIGN! Gives me goosepimples whenever I see it. :cloud9:

Hi! We live in New Albany, Indiana (just across the river from Louisville) and we returned on Saturday. It is a long drive. I told my dh that we are flying next year!

Look forward to your updates.

That's so cool that the other family was heading to Disney too!! YAY! for seeing the sign! There's nothing like it!!:cloud9: It always makes me smile to know that we have finally arrived!:thumbsup2

I thought it was cool too how you saw this family and your DH struck up a conversation with them. :thumbsup2 I wonder if you see them later on your trip? I guess I will just have to stay tuned to your TR to see if you do.

My father was just like you DH, he would start a conversation with anybody and everybody. As kids, my mother would often have us go up and pull him away from the nice people he had cornered. Most people loved to talk with him at first, but sometimes he would just keep talking and they were too polite to stop him. I, do miss him so, and now I find myself often starting conversations with people just as he did.

Hopefully, I do not keep them captive as he did though. I usually just make a quick comment or two and then leave.

Looking forward to reading more!:surfweb:

YAY you made it!! looking forward to another update :)

Update is coming up!!! :welcome:

Hi! I'm here!

Every time I see a pic of a countdown calendar, I really want to make one myself! Maybe when DBF and I get married, we'll make one! I'm REALLY excited to have our kiddies use it.

We love our countdown calendars!!! We make one everytime we go, I think the adults have more fun with it than the kids

Hey! I'm coming along for your trip, too!

Ugh, I don't like driving for a long time in the rain. It just makes the trip longer...

Hooray for the Disney World sign! :thumbsup2

I am glad to see you here B!

Isn't that neat/weird/cool that the other family was also going to Disney and that you saw them a couple of times?!?!

Disney signs always make me smile. Some even make me cry.

I am a happy cryer too!!!

That is pretty neat that the other family you saw is going to the same place you guys are!! Gotta love how most everyone in the world has a love for disney!!!

On the other couple, we looked all over Disney for them but we never seen them. We thought it would be awesome to run into them again but alas it was not meant to be :sad2:

Love the Disney Sign!!! It is the best feeling ever! Wish we would have seen that other couple again.

We are flying for our October trip because it is a short trip but we plan to drive for our next big trip. I get air sickness, so I would rather drive but the flight is so much shorter than the drive. :thumbsup2

Love arriving at Disney! Nothing like looking forward to the sign.

When I last left off we had finally arrived at Disney!!! Yay!!

Here is that sign pic one more time:

I could not resist!!!

We decided to stay one night at Disney's Coronado Springs on an Annual Passholders Discount instead of staying at a non-Disney hotel at Downtown Disney. It was a great deal and we got to see a resort that we had not stayed at before.

We had to look around Panchettos, we had not done Disney Shopping in a year!

That when we first spotted Vinylmation! More on this later. ;)

And the must do fountain pic with the kids.

We headed to check in and discovered we were in Room 6630 of the Ranchos Section 6B. It was an excellent location and absolutely beautiful. If you are looking for a moderate resort to stay at, definately stay at Coronodo Springs. We were so close to the Dig Site which is the name of the main pool here. The pool had a refill station and it accepted the dining plan. It had a limited menu but it would work for a quick dinner or lunch.

Here are a few pics of our room:

Which park do you think we visted first?

Update coming up soon........

I don't blame you for putting the picture of the WDW sign in again! I could look at that every day.:thumbsup2

Your pictures of the Coronado are beautiful. We thought about giving the resort a try but can't seem to book anything but the Caribbean Beach since we love it so.

It's the Castle!!! Friday, May 28, 2010 Part 3

MagicKingdomSign5-28-2010Friday.jpg

Yup!! Magic Kingdom was our first park! How could it not be? We had to pick up our annual passes and our MNSSHP tickets for our October trip first at the Transportation and Ticket Center. Once this was done we hopped on the monorail to MK.

We were so excited to be at MK! It was wonderful walking in after not being there for a whole year. It was magical and breathtaking!

Had to get our annual balloon pic:

We headed to BTMRR first and got fastpasses with a return time of 6:10 - 7:10pm, he is a pic of the castle as we passed it.

Then we decided to ride POTC, Here is a little video for you to enjoy (just click on the dark pic below):

Then we rode Haunted Mansion and collected on those fast passes for BTMRR! We had a blast!

We went to the Confectionary for a snack.

We had an ADR for Tony's Town Square at 7:40pm but we had not ate anything since lunch. We got no pics of our snack but we picked up 2 peanut butter cups, flower cookie, and chocolate cashew patty along with water and diet coke.

Then we decided to go SHOPPING!!! The kids wanted notebooks and pens and I wanted a 2010 lanyard.

We decided to check in for our ADR and got in 10 minutes early. We had never been to Tony's before so this was new for us. Our server Mark was busy with another table so Becky helped him out. She took our order and got our drinks.

We got an appetizer, the Cheese Bread:

and here is the free bread:

Shawn and Aaron Shared the Chicken Parmesan and the Caesar salad:

and I got the Spaghetti with Meatballs

We really enjoyed Tony's we were not on the dining plan yet, so we paid out of pocket for this meal. It was $68.77 with tip.

After dinner, we decided to stay for a special treat!!!!

Update coming up.......

Ooooh the castle! What a beautiful sight after an entire year.

Thanks for posting pics of your meal at Tony's. In all of our trips to Disney, we haven't tried it yet. But, your pictures sure do make it look appetizing.

We have never stayed at Coronado Springs....it looks beautiful! I love your room! :goodvibes

And oh, that Cheese Bread looks so yummy! I love bread!

Sounds like you had a fun MK day!

Wishes!! Part 4, Friday, May 28, 2010

It was around 8:30pm when were were finished with dinner. It had rained while we were eating and it was still sprinkling as we left Tony's. Wishes was at 9pm this night so we decided to stay. We also wanted to watch Wishes because we knew that Summer Nighttastic was going to start and we wanted to watch Wishes before they stopped showing it.

Waiting for the Fireworks:

We love Wishes!! It was a wonderful way to end a great evening at Magic Kingdom. It just sprinkled a bit and we eventually took off the ponchos. We parked at the TTC, so we decided to ride the monorail and the tram back to our van. It took at least 30-40 minutes to get to our van. It was worth it to see Wishes.

The next day we had plans! What was it you ask? You will have to find out in my next post.......

:goodvibes

We liked Tony's the best out of the three italian restaurants we tried while on property.

Thanks, Funny but Coronado had some of the most comfortable beds out of our whole stay. Mmmm....I love bread too! It was so good. I really enjoyed it.

Tony's is not my favorite, but right now, the food pics are looking very good! I think your Wishes pictures are just wonderful, especially the last one where the castle is dark and the fireworks have lit up the night sky. If it were me, I'd have that in a frame somewhere in my home.

I really like the new style of the rooms at CSR! I like the dark wood look. Looks like a nice afternoon/evening at MK. Your pictures of Wishes are amazing! I can't never get mine to come out that good. I think I need a tripod and a photography class. But anyways...looking forward to your next update.

Ooo, the entrance to the main building of Coronado really does NOT look like a hotel in Florida! I love how distinct it looks.

Haha, how cute are those little Donald pinatas!

Ooo, I like that last shot of the fireworks! I actually like the castle is dark so it's just the silhouette and that the fireworks have all the different colors!

Yay a TR! Great start. Sorry about the rain. CSR looks nice-we are staying there in Sep. I think I may add Tony's to my list-looks good. Great fireworks pics.
