The Baths at Tortola

Thanks SO much for these details. Could you tell me what time your excursion left the ship?
We had to meet in the Walt Disney theater at 815am and probably headed down 10 min later to get off the ship

And by the way this was the "tour to virgin Gorda" excursion without lunch.

Once again - just what needed I to know...THANKS!! we decided to do that excursion...it seems DCL offers choices in the time and I suspect you went in the morning...sounds like you provided the tips we need to enjoy the Baths completely!

On our cruise the 815am was the only time offered, there was no afternoon choice. I have heard of others having a 115pm option too

Glad I could help. It was a once in a lifetime experience! We really enjoyed it!

I'm looking at the reviews and info on the Baths and considering doing this on an upcoming cruise. How do you carry your phone, towel, currency during this excursion and how do you keep them from getting wet? Thanks.

We just got off the Fantasy yesterday. You definitely need water shoes or rugged terrain close-toed sandals. The guide will tell you before you go down the path that the rocks in the caves are slippery, and you cannot wear flip-flops or Crocs. The walk back to the parking lot is lined with cacti, so you definitely do not want to go barefoot! The family walking in front of us made that mistake and ended up with splinters in their feet!

The guide will tell you that the highest the water has ever come on him is knee-high, but I don't remember walking through anything higher than my ankles. I guess it depends on the tides.

I carried a backpack. Going through the caves water was shallow. I then put the pack pack on the beach while we swam.

We are debating on port adventures in Tortola and the baths port adventure in particular. A few of us do not like the idea of crawling in tight spaces and climbing up rocks to get to the baths. It is from my understanding that you can still go straight to the beach if you do not want to do this part.

Has anyone been on this excursion? If you were not going to do the caves/baths portion and only the beach is it still a good excursion...or would you pick another one?

Any port adventures tips for Tortola would be great!
I wouldn't do this excursion if your don't want to climb rocks or go through narrow spaces, that's kind of the whole reason o be there.....
