I see your point Deb, but I also think accusing those who are happy the snipers were caught and want to concentrate on that aspect right now as suffering from "ostrich syndrome" was unnecessary. .

I couldn't agree more Deb and have been saying all along that it is not mutually exclusive!
Obviously there will be an examination of this incident and hopefully law enforcement will learn some valuable lessons from it.

Is this an example of "critical thinking" or is it "being critical"? I believe there is a huge difference, Deb.

While I totally agree with the idea that history teaching us an important lesson AND the necessity to review, revise and constantly rethink the way we, the human race, do things, I would say that nonconstructive criticism accomplishes nothing more than hurt feelings and anger. Witness everything that transpired over the last 6 pages.

I suspect that Chief Moose, the FBI and every agency involved in this and every investigation strive to better their technique if for no other reason than avoiding public outcry and criticism. If I had to guess, however, their motivation, like others who take pride in their profession, is to be able to go to bed at night knowing that they've done the best they could under the circumstances, whatever that may be.


Oh, and EROS, unless extraordinary circumstances occurred, I doubt anyone would ban you because it would give you such enormous satisfaction.

Besides, you ain't all bad. Misguided sometimes, but not bad......

You know I do not despise you Eros, you add a flare of interest with your opinions around here. I have agreed with you on a few occasions. The problem I see is you "group" anyone who disagrees with you into one catagory. Look at people as individuals, not as indignant righteous posters, Webs and Mods. No one, including yourself, likes to be grouped or sterotyped, its insulting prior to the discussion even starting. Its a cheap way out of a debate/discussion.

Patrick, I hate to break this news to you, but there ARE groups, cliques, and the like on this board. I NEVER refer to individuals in such groupings, but they know who they are . If the shoe fits, wear it. I don't label anyone SPECIFICALLY as being a member of anything; they choose to label themselves.

Hey, I even standup for misunderstood and persecuted minorities like REDSOX and CUB fans. We take a lot of **** around here ........
