The BALD and the BEAUTIFUL go to DIZZY world! 4/2 epcot!

pixiedust:pixiedust: :grouphug: Hope everyone is better. Sori to hear about your Grandma's dog.

Great updates, beach pics are great. Your DS looks so cute :goodvibes

Monday March 8th

The morning didn't start out as smoothly as I would have liked. :sad2: Poor Marsha woke up with a bad cold and DD and I woke up with sores on our feet. :headache: So after we all got ourselves ready for the day and we filled our tummies with a yummy breakfast that DH fixed for us, we made a quick stop at Walmart for much needed Cold-Medicine and bandaids. :thumbsup2

We arrived at Animal Kingdom around 9:30 AM and the weather couldn’t have been any better. This was the first time I've ever been to AK where the weather wasn't miserable and 110 degrees. I was LOVING it! :lovestruc I was just sad that they closed so early and we needed to cram as much stuff as possible into 8 hours.

Florida003-1.jpg

It was decided right away that Everest was going to be our first stop so we headed in that direction after we had made it through the front gates.

On our walk over we saw Pooh, Eeyore, and Tigger down by the river so we decided to stop for a quick meet and greet!

:tigger:

All of a sudden Reya started pouting and acting like she was scared of the characters? :confused3 I couldn’t understand why she was doing this when she was doing so well with everyone she had come across thus far. Breanna had to hold her so she wouldn’t completely freak out. I wasn’t sure if she was just doing it for attention or if she really was scared. But that was a prelude to what it was going to be like for most of the day. Not only was she acting scared about all the characters, but she was being a wuss towards all the rides as well. She was cranky, demanding, and had wanted to be held all day. :sad2: But I wasn't about to let her ruin my day. I think we all tried and succedded in having a wonderful day even though she was in a foul mood.

;)

After meeting Pooh and his friends, we made it to Everest and noticed the wait was over 60 minutes, so we did what any sane person would do and got FP's instead.

Florida194.jpg

After picking up our FP's, I decided that it would be best if we headed over to the Dino Land area so Reya could ride Triceratop Spin. I KNEW it would be something she would enjoy and I was hoping that it would help get her out of her miserable funk. :rolleyes1

Florida039-1.jpg

Florida024-1.jpg

Once we got off we noticed Goofy and Pluto were taking pictures and signing autographs nearby. Since Jayden was actually awake we decided to go wait in line. :yay:

Florida044.jpg

Florida031-1.jpg

( Victor wearing Jayden’s hat while we were waiting in line)

Reya was still acting shy and a little scared, while Jayden was all smiles and loving it. :lovestruc It was fun to see his reaction. Unfortunately I gave DH the camera to take pictures and he took them from an angle where you can barely see Jayden’s face and you can’t see Breanna at all. The photo pass pictures for this particular character greeting were really great, but I didn’t want to spend all that money for just a “couple” of great pictures.

To be continued ………….

Thank goodness for kindness of strangers. I imagine most of us have been in a similar situation. Good to know about Casey's--I will have to mark it down as a possibility for a CS option in MK. Despite the cooler weather, it seems like overall it was a great day!

Great shots of your time at the beach--it looks like you all had a good time despite not being able to swim.

I hope Reya warms back up to the characters.

I went out of town for a few days and got waaaaaay behind here! Let's see if I can remember what all I wanted to comment on....

Reya looked beautiful in her princess dress! I'm so happy for her that she had a great day and that everyone gushed over her :goodvibes And, good for her riding Splash - what a big girl!

I agree with you that the DL Space Mtn is smoother, it seems faster too, but maybe that is just because it is so smooth - I don't know, it's just better! :thumbsup2

Your day at the beach looks nice - doesn't it just feel so good to stick your toes in the sand?! I'm sorry you got lost on the way back though, we never leave home without our GPS anymore!

Glad the temps were nice for your AK day. I hope Reya cheers up and enjoys the day. On the Photopass pics, you know you can just buy a couple of prints and forgo the whole CD if you want, right? I know the individual prints aren't cheap either, but it's much cheaper than the $150 they are charging for CD these day!

Great updates! Reya is just adorable in those beach pictures. :goodvibes

So sorry everyone has been feeling bad- sending prayers to all of you.

Sounds like a good trip so far except for being sick! I hope everyone's feeling better!! I love that you were able to do "live" reports! I hope I'll have the time on our trip. Your kids are adorable and seem to travel so very well! Can't wait to hear about the rest of the trip!!

One question if you don't mind....did you go to Toontown at all or notice any of the "refurb" construction? I guess that's what I'm most worried about on our trip - that stuff the kids will want to ride will be closed. :headache:

All caught up!

I can't believe you almost overslept. I know what kind of stress that adds;)

We got James that super-soft Mickey. I love it

I'm curious too if there are any differences/ interruptions with the TT area at MK

I cracked up when you said the guys fell asleep in VOLM. The same thing happened to my group- everyone of them was out! The girls loved it though

Love the cars pic! Its so neat that the girls get to be a little more childlike because of Reya and she gets to be a little bit more adventurous becuase of them.

Cayden and Maya loves Star Tours too. wonder what is is about that ride? :confused3

I wish i had thought to call Disney Dining when i was running late for the castle. they sure were cranky at me when i was late.

you are right about your Ariel. Maybe she was a sub or something?

After meeting Pluto and Goofy the OLDER girls wanted to ride Primeval Whirl.

Florida050-1.jpg

It was only a 25 minute wait so DH and DBIL took both girls. In the meantime Marsha and I stayed behind with Reya and Jayden. ((I can't ride this particular ride, it's rough on the tummy)) However, it was a perfect day for a Mickey Bar,:mickeybar so Reya and I shared one while Marsha got a frozen chocolate banana.

Florida046-2.jpg

Florida047-1.jpg

After the three of us were done with our yummy frozen treats, we headed over to Dinosaur to pick up FP’s while we were waiting for the other four to finish up with Primeval Whirl.

Florida180.jpg

Once they were finished with their ride, we all decided to go ahead and head back to Dinosaur to wait in the standby line since it was only a 10 minute wait. :woohoo: Reya was finally tall enough to ride this, but I wasn't eager to take her on. :sad2: I left the decision up to DH whether to take her or not. :confused3 I wasn't up for "Miss Drama Mama" if she didn't like it. He of course thought that she would be just fine and procedded to take her. :worried: Marsha and I stayed behind with a sleeping Jayden and found a bench in a nice shaded spot to people watch. Not 10 minutes later DH and DD walk up without the rest of our crew. Poor Reya freaked out and had a total melt-down right before boarding the vehicle. So of course my DH didn't force her to go on. After Victor and the girls were back, - Marsha, Will, and I used the child swap pass for our turn.

Florida176.jpg

After our exhilerating ride, I was REALLY Happy that Reya didn’t go on. :worship: I forgot how truly frightening that ride could be, especially for a four year old. My poor baby girl would have been messed up for the rest of the day. :rotfl:

It was then time to use our FP’s for EVEREST. So we sadly bid farewell to Dinoland! :wave2:

Florida182.jpg

On our way towards Everest DSIL had informed me that she and Victor didn’t want to go to Rainforest café for lunch any longer  they wanted to enjoy every second they could at AK before they closed and didn't want to waste any time at lunch. This sort of upset me at first, but at the same time I understood where they were coming from. It took me awhile but I too decided that was probably best and we could always find something to eat after 5:00pm when the park closed. Plus we could always go to RFC at DTD on another day. :confused3

When we arrived at Everest - Marsha, Victor, Breanna and valerie went to ride first. DH and I stayed behind with both our kids. Jayden was sleeping and Reya had occupied herself by climbing on some rocks and boulders nearby with some other kids.

Florida184.jpg

The FP line was fast and smooth and before I could blink an eye, it was our turn! :woohoo: I Love, Love, Love this ride!! And for a coaster I think it’s pretty smooth. Most Roller Coasters give me a headache, :headache:but I had NO problem with this one.

I think that Disney brings out some of the best in people. I couldn't imagine anybody being jerks and NOT giving me a diaper, but I was greatful to everyone who did. When we were boarding the boat ride in Norway I dropped 15.00 on the ground and a nice lady informed me of this instead of pocketing the money. There was also another guy at MK who had also dropped some money one day we were there and a sweet lady picked it up and ran after him to return his money. I like to think that Disney has that generous effect on people. I seem to find myself doing a lot more random acts of kindness as well whenever I'm there. ((more on this later)) But at the same time I noticed some REALLY rude people and claws came out full force on the day that the spring break crowds came in. ((also more on this later)) :rolleyes1

I do suggest Casseys corner for a yummy CS lunch or dinner. We went there twice. Mmmm, Mmmm, Mmmm

The beach was great despite the parking ticket and getting lost. ;)

Welcome back!

Thanks for the comment on Reya and her dress. She loved all the attention and loved being able to wear her dress all day long. We have glitter on just about everything from that dress however. It seems impossible to get rid of it all... She sat in Jaydens stroller for a little bit that day and now Jayden constantly has glitter on his butt. :rotfl:

I did not know that about the photopass thing. Guess I should look into it a little more. There are probably 4 or 5 photos that I would like to get, so that's great news.

Great updates! Reya is just adorable in those beach pictures. :goodvibes

So sorry everyone has been feeling bad- sending prayers to all of you.

Thank you! DH and I are feeling a little better. And Jayden is on some meds to help with his acid reflux. Hoping it does the trick. Hate that he's 3 months old and on a prescription medication. YUCK!

Sounds like a good trip so far except for being sick! I hope everyone's feeling better!! I love that you were able to do "live" reports! I hope I'll have the time on our trip. Your kids are adorable and seem to travel so very well! Can't wait to hear about the rest of the trip!!

Thanks for Reading.

There wasn't any kind of construction going on at Toon-town. I didn't know they were going to do any refurbishing. But truthfully I think it needs to be done. The toontown at WDW is SAD compared to the one at DLR.

We were really lucky.... barely anything was closed on our trip. The only thing I can think of was the Studio Tour at DHS.

I can't believe you almost overslept. I know what kind of stress that adds;)

We bought jayden the soft goofy and Mickey..... They are adorable. I handwashed the goofy since jayden peed on him and it definately took away the softness. :(

:rotfl: Funny about the difference in our Ariels. Yours was a little hottie, ours was a nottie.

Cayden is big enough to ride Star Tours? .... I'm so happy Reya loved it. I thought she would be scared, but she did really well.

I think reya would have missed out on a BUNCH of stuff if it weren't for her cousins. They really gave her the confidence to do most of the things that she did. And I'm glad that the other girls could be more child-like with the help of Reya.

Reya is just adorable--I just love her smiling all over the place (when she is not frightened). I do not think I will be letting my DD near Dinosaur either! I will let the others go on it who want to and her and I can play in the Boneyard. :goodvibes:

Looking forward to hearing about your RAK. I have read quite a few TR with incidents of rude people. It is true that it seems to be the busier times when these pop up.

Sorry to hear that everyone is sick. I hope you all get better quickly. Reya is so cute in her princess dress. I agree the price is a bit high in the ball park but I bet you got your money's worth seeing Reya's face the entire meal.:lovestruc
Boo, to the cold. Yikes about forgetting diapers! Disney really brings out the best in people. I have a few really RUDE people stories but I mostly meet nice people. What low wait times.
Ahh, the beach. That is why I live in Florida. I love that I can just get up and go to the beach any day I please. You can have a lot of fun with out going in the water. We usually don't go in if we're driving home and not staying at a hotel.

Love your report! Sounds like you're having a great time so far!!

Thanks for reading! :goodvibes

That's a good idea. :thumbsup2 Darn it I totally forgot about the boneyard. I could have taken her there while we were waiting for everyone to finish on primeval whirl. :headache:

I didn't have ANY problems with rude people until our last day there. The day when all the crowds came in. At least none that I can remember. The only thing I hated about the lower crowds was how everybody thought it was okay to stop in the middle of the theatre(s) instead of moving ALLLLL the way down, like they're supposed too. That got old and annyoying FAST!

It was worth every penny to see her face and excitment. :cutie:

I love Florida, but I don't think I could live there year round. I couldn't handle the summer heat. But I'm so jealous that you're so near Disney and the beach. It's like living in colorado I LOVE being near the mountains and being able to also visit whenever I can, but I hate the cold in the winter. I'm thinking I should move near my Dad and go to california. That way I could have the best of all worlds. Disneyland, Mountains, and the Ocean! :cloud9:

Sending well wishes your way...hoping you all feel better and your grandma's dog is okay!

Sounds like Reya had a tough day. I think all kids just get into moods like that sometimes. It's frustrating though!

I keep forgetting how tiny Jayden is! I'm glad Jayden loved the characters!

Mickey bars always make it all better, don't they?

DH wants to take DS on dinosaur if he's tall enough. I, like you, think that is a silly thing to do with a small child. We'll see how it goes for us!

I've never ridden EE, but I'm glad you got the chance too and that it was fun!

Sounds like you're having a great day at AK...I hope you got back to RFC at DTD though!

Thank you... On the plus side we're all feeling a "little" better.

Unfortunately my grandma had to put her dog down yesterday morning. They could do surgery on him, but his quality of life would have been severely diminished. He would be in pain all the time and on pain meds for his whole life. No jumping and romping around like he should. My grandma felt like it was the best decision but a REALLY hard decision. This morning my uncle brought her home a new puppy. Which she has mixed feelings about. She knows she can't replace Rocky, but she's happy to have a puppy to cuddle with and to help her heal.

Yeah, Dinosaour really isn't a kid ride. Maybe with him being a boy he'll handle it better then Reya. Or you'll just scar the kid for the rest of his life. :rotfl: j/k.

EE is one of my favorite rides. You need to experience it at least once.

After our thrilling ride on Everest we went to Kilimanjaro Safari. Unfortunately the wait time was 60 minutes, so we got ourselves some lovely FP’s instead.

To kill time until our Safari, we decided to catch the train over to Rafiki’s Planet watch. This was a first for all of us, so I was excited.:woohoo:

Florida063-3.jpg

Florida061-1.jpg

We all enjoyed the train ride over, especially Reya and Jayden and we were even lucky enough to catch a glimpse of an adorable baby elephant..
:dumbo:

I’m not exactly sure why we’ve never done this before, :confused3 It was a neat experience. We were even able to meet Jiminey Cricket. Jayden was awake for yet another character encounter :banana:and Reya was eager to meet Jiminey, this time she didn’t show any signs of being scared or shy. Truthfully it was a little shocking. Sure she was nervous and scared of meeting sweet, lovable Winnie the Pooh, pooh: but meeting a BIG bug didn't effect her at all! :rotfl: Reya is the biggest wuss when it comes to bugs of any kind. ((even lady bugs and flies)) Remember the Big fake motionless lady bug from our first day? :scared1: She has a serious phobia of any creepy crawly.:sad2: I’ve tried over the last year to help her get over her fear, and have slowly succedded, so it was fun to see her with Jiminy. ((guess I’ve done a good job)

Florida058-1.jpg

Florida205.jpg

Florida051-1.jpg

We even enjoyed ourselves for a little while in the petting zoo. Unfortunately I couldn’t stay long myself because the dust was just too much for myself and I really didn’t want to subject Jayden to it either. :sad2: Reya wanted to stay a little longer, so DH stayed and supervised her and the other girls for a little while longer.

Florida055-1.jpg

Florida210-1.jpg

Florida211.jpg

Once Reya was finished visiting with the animals we headed back to conservation station for our ride back, it was getting close to time to use our FP's.

Florida058-1.jpg

Once we arrived at the other station, we still had 20 minutes until we could take our Safari so we decided to take a walk through the Pangani Forest trail. This was actually another first for DH and I. I’m not sure why we’ve never experienced it before, I guess it was accidentally overlooked all the times we’ve been to animal Kingdom. :confused3

Florida077.jpg

We loved all the animals we came across, especially the Gorillas. This particular one cracked me up. The way he's laying there with his feet up reminds me of how I feel every night that I come back to the hotel from the parks.

To be continued......

So sorry to hear about your grandma's dog. I hope your grandma is coping alright.

It sounds like you had a lot of fun at Rafiki's planet watch! We went for the first time last trip but we weren't really crazy about it, we're actually thinking about skipping it this time. It is fun to meet Jimminy though...DS loved that as well. Was Rafiki not out? I think they normally have Jimminy Cricket, Rafiki, and Pochahontas.

I'm glad Reya enjoyed the "affection secion"!

I've never been on the Pangini Exploration Trail either, I'm definately planning on going this time! Great pictures!

Can't wait to hear more!

Sorry to hear about your grandma's dog hope her new puppy brings her lots of happiness :goodvibes

Pictures over at the conservation station look really good haven't ventured over for a while I'm sure our DD1 would love this.
