The "Bad" Guys

My 3yo DD loves the "bad guys", what I want to know is are the characters who represent the baddies very scarey? I know that they are in character but will they really try to scare a young child?

My two year old ds encountered the evil queen and just loved her! He ran up and gave her a big hug and she kept telling him needs to be a "bad boy" and that he wasn't mean enough. He just kept shaking his head grinning at her (too funny). This is the only villian we went up to but I don't think they will do anything to actually be mean or scare a small child. They will, however, have an attitude to match their character. Have a great vacation !

We saw Curela in January and she was way scary. My 9 year old thought it was great but there were little kids running away. She was really good about avoiding little ones and going after the older kids and adults.

jafar is another scary guy - he doesn't try to really scare the kids but skulks around enough to make you want to run away - we usually see him at mgm

The characters are trained to be sensitive to frightened little ones. We had the same experience with Cruella. She was the only character my then-6yo DD would NOT go up to. (I think most of the scarier characters are in heads, which makes them unrealistic. Cruella is a face character, which hit a little too close to reality.)

My then-23mo was frightened of ALL of the characters at the beginning of our last trip, and just started warming up at the end. The first ones she would go near at all were Cinderella's mice. They played Ring-A-Round-A-Rosie with her. They were smaller than the other characters, and very cute and unintimidating. (We found them with Cindy at the Meet and Greet near Mickey's tent in ToonTown.)
