The Bacon strikes again! Bouncin' back in Sept! UPDATE: We're back! What a trip! p43

This is a mini trip report of my weekend trip taken to Santa Rosa Beach to visit friends and have a crawfish boil. The cast includes, but not limited to: my dad, my mom, Mike, my sister Tracey, and bacon. Mom was already there, staying with her best friend Linda. Laurie is Linda's twin sister. They both live in SRB, FL, on the same street. This is how my Mom got there: L & L took a trip to visit their mom in New Orleans a couple weeks before we were to make our trip to their house, so my mom hitched a ride back with them to extend her stay up until we drove her back. Lucky duck!! (If I didn't work, I would've done the same thing)

I took a ton of pics during this trip, so most of this will be pictures, but I felt the large preface was necessary for y'all to know what was going on.

The trip begins! Dad and Tracey drove in (30 minutes away) to come pick us up and we loaded up our bags. We were still trying to last-minute pack after the dog fiasco. We left Thursday at 4:30 PM from my house, for about a 5 hour drive.
It's okay cuz we had snacks!

It was around 9:30...we made really good time considering we stopped a few times (restroom...milkshakes at Arbys---mmmm, I have found a new love for Arby's Chocolate milkshake!)

When we arrived at Laurie & Jerry's house the ladies were on their way back from dinner (Melting Pot) but we were greeted by Puff:

Without further adieu, I bring you...the beginning of the itinerary!

Day 1, Sept 13th – Arrival day!
Wake up at 4:30 - 5 am
Load up the car & out the door by 6 am (drive to get Dad so he can drive us to the airport)
Eat breakfast at the airport, or in the car on the way
Flight leaves at 8 am and is scheduled to arrive at MCO at 10:45 am (Orlando time)
Take the DME to Disney’s Pop Century Resort, arrive around 12:30 pm
Hopefully we can check in early, and we’ll request a room close to the front (preferred)
If we check in(I expect so), we’ll bring our carry-on bags and get settled in, take pics, decorate the window, etc. Then head on out to do something!
If we can’t check in then we’ll leave our carry-on bags with the front desk and head out to do something very Disney and very fun! It’s really up in the air. I think I’d like to hit Epcot, hit the new SE, grab a TT fast pass, and have a quick service at one of the countries in WS. Any suggestions? (besides Mexico) Then we can tour the WS a little bit. Sake, anyone?
I’m sure we’ll head to DTD eventually. (I would say we’d hit DQ but it will probably be packed on a Saturday afternoon)
ADR – Raglan Road at 7 PM for just Mike and I. I had this scheduled for just us originally because my cousin wasn’t going to arrive until Sunday (14th) so I left it alone since I don’t know what time the 4 others are going to arrive. (They are driving—I’ll explain in a later post)
We might take in a show at the Comedy Club and then head back to the resort early. I'm sure we'll be very tired and we have an early morning ahead!

anyways, again, i think you have your first day planed out well! I bet y'all will go back to your resort early and crash since you won't want to wear yourselves out on the first day. Especially with waking up so early. That's another reason Chris and I decided to drive down a day early. We have that Spirit of Aloha Dinner show on the 13th at 8pm...can you imagine how exhausted we'd be if we drove down that morning leaving at 2:30am? And then stayed out for that show?? But you all are flying so maybe you'll be too excited to sleep

Hopefully our luggage will be there before we are ready to go to sleep this time!

I wish I could sleep on the plane but I know I will be WAY too excited to sleep! Plus it's only an hour and 1/2 flight and I can't sleep on the ascent or descent because of my ears. I have to sit there and concentrate on chewing my gum. I don't want to be in pain when I get to the Happiest place on Earth!

Okay so I pretty much left y'all hanging on the SRB trip. Sorry [Rant] I can't understand why my pictures didn't upload in order on Photobucket! I used the bulk uploader. Now it's not making it easy for me to put these in order for y'all. UGH! [/rant]

So I left off where we'd just arrived at the "big house" and you'll see what I mean soon enough. Our room would be upstairs. There are 4 total. We were informed that the cook (for the crawfish boil) would be arriving the next day and would be staying in the Green room

It's on the back side of the house overlooking the bay. (was hoping to stay in that room but the cook is more important )

Linda's sister-in-law, Kay, was already in the Red room so I could only get one pic. (that room was also on the bayside --and please, no Saved by the Bell jokes )

Our choice were the Blue room or the Gold room

Blue room:

When Linda said the Gold room was better (better water pressure) we chose that one even though Blue is my favorite color.

I looked at the pictures you just posted of some of the rooms in that house. That stinks that you couldn't have your first choice room. Looks beautiful! But the room y'all chose looks great too. And is that a pool table right outside your door!? How cool!!! btw, what's up with the cribs around the house? Seems like t here's one in every room

They are all beautiful. The whole house just has so much detail....they have 8 foot doors all throughout the house. Did I mention there are 8 full bathrooms in that house? I'd hate to clean all of that!

It must be because they have a couple grandchildren. Those 2 rooms(green and red) are the only ones with cribs. They probably have had those in there ever since they moved in and furnished the house.

I agree...it's so beautiful there! I got a really good outdoor picture I will be posting in a bit.

Yeah it's really cool. We watched a movie last summer but this time we didn't have a chance. It was a busy weekend with setting up the crawfish boil Friday evening and the crawfish boil going on most of the day Saturday.
I wanted to watch the Disney video, but alas, we didn't get a chance. I will bring it with me next time we visit and hopefully we'll get a chance.
