This show just begs to have a drinking game. There are SO many overused words/phrases!!
incredible
amazing
great group of guys
grateful
journey
I want to buy this chick a thesaurus!
Have the running commentary/voice overs ALWAYS been this obnoxious? I just don't remember the first few seasons being this bad. Ever since it went to two hours there is just SO much filler. Ali walking here, there, and everywhere pontificating about her "journey" in this "amazing place" with this "great group of guys". Over and over and over.
Yes, they've always been this obnoxious. I think Ali has actually branched out...I remember a time when it seemed the only word they knew was "amazing". Oh...and "journey". I think they have a pre-show study guide, with all the necessary words, comments necessary to "play the game".
did anyone notice, or at least I think Frank is the only one that she says "I think I could end up with him at the end"
with her saying that makes me thing this entire thing is sooo pre-planned
I'm assuming she doesn't end up with him in the end, which is why they are playing that up. They probably spend a day of filming where she says that about each one, and as the season progresses, they use the clips that cause "the most dramatic rose ceremony (etc) ever."
I found that funny. My Mom rolled her eyes at LOTS of my Dad's interests, but it was all in jest. They were married and madly in love for 60 years.
I agree. I saw that eyerolling just this way.
Did anyone think that Roberto's family was a little weird? They named two kids after themselves! One named after the dad (Roberto) and one named after the mom (I can't remember her name). I think trendee names are strange but at least those people have some imagination!
I was going to respond what phorsenuf already did...
That's pretty common in many cultures.
I worked with someone who had 2 sisters, all with the same first name as her. They were Portuguese. They were all named Mary, but with different middle names...Rosary, Angel, and Joseph. The one I knew was Mary Angel, and called Mary. The other two were called Mary Rose and Mary Jo.

(What thread is this?? Oh yeah...

)
I liked Kirk the best. He's my type, looks-wise, and I just liked him. I hated to see him not "win" and yet, I was glad to see him not "win" Ali.
I think Frank is a quirky nerdy brainiac. I think he over-analyzes everything and will never be able to settle down and be happy.
I LOVED Chris's family, and he and Ali seemed A LITTLE more connected last night. Before that, I was wondering why he was still there.
Roberto...eh. My daughter loves him. He's cute and all, and seems like a nice guy.
But, like everyone is saying, there's not going to be an actual "love match" at the end of this. I think Ali saw an opportunity, and scrammed from the Jake season with getting her own season in mind, and then moving on to a "Melissa Rycroft" type of career.
It's so obnoxious. So go ahead...ask me if I'll be watching next season.

It reminds me of my mom watching her soaps for 50 years, always saying "This show is so stupid...I'm going to quit watching." Must be hereditary.
