I think he is literally acting out on his preference of females whether he wants to admit it or not. His Ex Fiance' moved to CA(yes, from IA)...he fell for Becca and Britt who are now California girls. The type he likes is NOT the kind who are all excited to be on the farm no matter how many times he say's it out loud for his family to hear ..and I think he himself, is entranced with the west coast now. I think the dude is trapped in the family business at 33 , unless he can find a way to make his "celebrity" last in CA. I'm sure he has vacation homes or the like to escape IA and I am sure he is thinking "strike while the iron is hot" on the CA opportunities, but you live in an imaginary world long enough, you can start to believe...

They probably get another bonus if they just make it till the next Bachelor(ette)'s season is over. So people can still believe in true love.

That ring was 100,000~ depending on what pawn shop she hocked it at, being an "authentic" bachelor winner ring she might get 1/3 of that. Plus the fun in the sun in Cali and all those FF miles? Oh geez, that whole audience thing is torture. (And of course I'll be watching, with one eye anyway..."multitasking".) We'll be getting an update from Sean and Catherine, no doubt...you know, how to have a great marriage like them.
And they'll be brought in to give advice during the season to the prospective couples.

But, I think it will be the lighter blonde who gets to stay. Just looking at her in the commercials, she gives off such a "ho" vibe and seems unpredictable. Like she will spread her gets for any guy she's interested in. The guys will jump on those qualities and want her stay.
Meanwhile, the brunette is more emotionally reserved. She even complained in the previews that she didn't like this process of elimination and doesn't seem that happy overall. I think she won't be staying. She kind of doesn't have the personality to make it through a whole season.
