So, while visiting the Magic Kingdom this weekend I utilized the Baby Center just behind the Crystal Palace. I was very happy to see this place since I have an 8 month old who is still breastfeeding. I saw this place on the map of the parks I have on my I-Pod touch, so I poked my head in there to see what it was all about. I later did use the nursing room as well as the changing table and high chairs.

I noticed they had a small kitchen area too. Tell me about your experiences using this facility and what supplies they have available, free or for a small fee?

Are there more of these in the other parks?

Also, just for fun, where have you nursed a child in the park? I nursed in the Carousel of Progress. It was very slow saturday night because of the rain, and there were only about 15 people in the theater with us. There was no one within 30 seat of us and we were in the back row. :scared1: :lmao:

My answer to where have you BFed? Would be easier to answer where I have not! :)

Honestly, I have been EBFing my children and it is no big deal. I am more than conservative, but, when a baby needs to eat... it is easy to nurse on many rides, in theaters, on a bench, and mostly as we walk and they are in the Beco/Ergo.

LOVE the Baby Centers, we went last September (it was HOT!!) and I was never so happy when my 2.5 mos. old needed to BF so I could take a break and feed him. They were air conditioned, I could change him and nurse him and put my feet up while DH kept the big boys happy...either coloring in the other room/giving them a snack or going on to the next attraction.

When that vacation was over.....I felt like I needed a pin that said "I nursed around the World"....I had never nursed my other boys in public and used the Baby Centers usually, but like you, nursed in COP, Country Bear Jamboree, a bench in the corner of Epcot where NO ONE was, when it was time, it was TIME!!;)

There is one baby care center in each of the parks. We used the one in Epcot in March just for a diaper change and it was very nice. There is a fee for the supplies they have there (diapers, food, medicine) but I don't know how much it is.
And I have nursed DD anywhere and everywhere. People are amazingly nice about it.

Each park has a BC center and we used them all during our trip with our DD last Fall. She was 8 months old at the time. We used them for some meals in the highchair, diaper changes when we happened to be nearby, just to get out of the heat and to let her crawl around on the playroom floors since she was in a stoller most of the day.

The kitchen area sells jarred baby food, formula, diapers, wipes - really anything you could possibly need for a baby or small child - all for a small fee of course ;) They also have a water cooler and a microwave in each center. The CM's who work them are wonderfully helpful and keep the centers very clean!

I LOVED using the baby centers. My favorite place to nurse was at AK- I think the rockers there were the most comfortable, and it was a private room. I also liked nursing him at Epcot; there was one time when there were about 5 other moms nursing and all our kids had J names! I like the big changing tables at all but AK where they are smaller...they also have nice cold water coolers too! And that's free!

The Baby Care Centers are the bomb! DH usually takes DS 4 yrs for ice cream or soemthing while I take care of the baby, the bathrooms are nice that they are wait free on the busy nights.

I agree with the PP and the nursing arrangement at AK is the best but I think Epcot has the quietest center all around. The DHS one is a little lacking and I never bothered nursing there but have all the others. I have nursing covers by Bebe Au Lait and I nursed everywhere. Every resturant in WDW, Rose & Crown bar area, on benches in parks, etc. No one ever asked or acted offended, but I'm not sure that generally people had any idea I was even BFing since I was always covered.

The baby care centers were great for diaper changes. I liked the nursing room in Magic Kingdom the best - it was the...friendliest, even if it wasn't private. Although my guy was more interested in playing with the fringe on the lights than nursing.

I BFd on the Haunted Mansion, the Nemo ride at Epcot, Muppetvision 3D and Turtle Talk with Crush. Those are just a few I remember. There's some really nice benches over by the Dinosaur ride in AK, too.

My DD started running a fever and got a very drippy nose our first night at WDW. I forgot to put tylenol or motrin in the bag the next morning. The baby care center at Epcot had it for sale, even the chewable bubblegum flavor she liked. It was $4, so they weren't really price-gouging either. It was nice and clean and quiet and cool in there. Definitely a sanctuary amid chaos.

The BC centers are awesome! Clean, cool and friendly. I wish there were more than one throughout the parks though. I would rather use these to change my baby than the crowded and noisy restrooms.

The baby care centers are the best! We used the ones at AK and MK so we'd have a quiet place to feed and change DS. He loved being able to get out of the stroller and crawl around for a bit.

I found the baby centers to be wonderfully helpful. I know that they have basic supplies for sale, diapers, wipes, infant tylenol, baby food, etc. You can heat up baby food or formula if you use it.

We needed the center one day at MK when my 3 y/o DD had some icky BM issues (probably related to the junk food she was eating that trip!) and we needed to find a pull-up to help us on the bus ride back to the resort. The nurse on duty there was super helpful and we were able to get all the supplies we needed to clean her up.

As for good Breast feeding spots... I say if the baby is hungry... it looks like a good spot! :thumbsup2

I also have enjoyed the baby centers over numerous trips with several babies...a little sanctuary for mom and baby.

WDW is a great place for nursing...so many corners tucked in places and so much overall activity that no one notices what mom and baby are up to. I was not a real public nurser at home (really less need for it), but over the years on WDW trips I have literally nursed around the world.

We went once when one of my dds was 5 mo old. I researched this ahead of time as I overplan everything. Most moms said they used the baby care centers or a quiet bench. :rotfl: I put the laughing smile b/c it was so crowded when we went (January) that I could seldom find an empty bench! I nursed in the baby care centers when I was by one. That was wonderful, but when I wasn't, I had to make due.

Once we were at Pecos Bills and the baby wanted to eat, and we were sitting on seats without backs and it was crowded. I prefer to nurse in private. I went outside and could not find an empty bench. I ended up nursing her on a seat in the outside dining area. Not too comfy.

She wanted to eat when we were at Sci-Fi and it was too crowded at the table to nurse her there. I went outside to look for a bench and there weren't any. There was some cement seating. It was pretty thin seating and there were lots of people around. The baby wasn't loving the blanket. I tried to hold the blanket and my squirming dd and was just hoping no one would get a peak!

She also started fussing as we went into a VERY crowded Finding Nemo show - I mean elbow to elbow. I threw a blanket over her and hoped no one could see on the side or behind me. And then the little stinker refused to eat! Gotta love 'em!

I know they sell pacifiers there too! DD#2 lost about 1 a day on her first trip!

We used the baby care centers for our last 2 trips when youngest dd was 3 1/2 mos and 17 mos. I loved them and they have everything you could need. I ended up having to buy a bottle at the one in Epcot when dd was 3 1/2 mos since she decided to go on a nursing strike. I used all the centers except for the DHS one. I dont even know where that center is.
I loved to be able to sit down and relax and nurse- when she was cooperative- and the changing tables are so nice complete with sanitary paper:thumbsup2
We also used the microwave and enjoyed the refreshing water cooler water they provided.
I didnt know about the centers when my 10 yr old was a baby. I wish I had because they are so nice...

We used the one in AK to get some tylenol...my son who was 17 months at the time didn't want to leave....i had to drag him out of there...

I used all the centers except for the DHS one. I dont even know where that center is.

It's located in the building to the left as soon as you walk through the turnstiles - there is a guest relations & first aid station there as well. It's the smallest of all of the baby care centers - only has 2 or 3 changing tables, but it's very quiet and relaxing. There were 2 families in there, including us and if a 3rd family had come in, it probably would have felt a little crowded.

I love the baby care centers. What a nice quiet place to change a diaper and let the kiddos relax. If only they could have one in the front and the back of the parks. ;)
