The Baby Care Centers ROCK!!

You can change them no matter the age. The beds/cribs are big enough to hold a 3yo without many problems. I think they might start outgrowing the one in AK but you can still use it if you want.

In addition all of them have childrens toilets if you are having a hard time using the regular ones.

are there one of these in each park? If so, it would make moot all the discussion about breastfeeding in public in the parks.

Not if people choose not to use the ONE location in each park to breastfeed each and every time. We were just there for a week and I only used a Baby Care Center one time. Since my son nurses a lot each day, that was a very small percentage of nursing sessions! If I'd gone to the Baby Center each and every time, I would've spent most of my days getting there and back. Totally not worth it unless you happen to be in the vicinity, IMO--or if you are truly very shy about nursing in public (which I am not)! Sorry, but I am one of "those people" who think others who have a problem with public breastfeeding just need to get over it. It's natural, it's normal, it's NECESSARY! That said, I don't flaunt anything. I didn't give any free shows and not one person even looked my way while I nursed him. They probably thought he was just sleeping, because I am reasonably discreet. The center I used (MK) was nice, though! :sunny:

I started this thread to let others know about the great Baby Care Centers in the parks.

They are so much better than trying to change your child in the crowded restrooms, and they offer other items such as medicines, and supplies people might need when they are in the parks. Whether you breastfeed or bottlefeed, the Baby Care Centers are a good option for the whole family since they offer a calm spot to take a break.

If it continues to go down the path it's headed, I will have it closed. I think that is pretty sad when they are a good resource to know about, and can help ALL parents.

I have an honest question...I didn't know OPs had the right to close threads???? Just because they don't like the responses???? Please let me know how this works. I thought only Moderators could do that. Thanks!!

I made that post not because I did not like any of the responses, I just didn't want it to go down the path where people on both sides would get their feelings hurt. The baby care centers are an awesome resource and I felt it would be a shame if the thread was closed due to hurt feelings, etc.

I've also used the baby care centers when my girls were little, and they are wonderful!!! And they do sell baby items, in case you run low (one time, I forgot to put the baby wipes back in the diaper bag and was able to buy a small pack there).

Also, my older DD was able to buy some solution for her contacts at the baby care/first aid center at Epcot.

Here's the info from AllEars about the locations of the centers:

Where are these Baby Stations?

Magic Kingdom -- at the end of Main Street, behind the Crystal Palace Restaurant on you way to Adventureland. It is tucked away in a small courtyard near the first aid station.
Epcot -- on the backside of the Odyssey Restaurant on the walkway from Test Track to Mexico. This is a very neat station as many times the workers from the Mexican Pavilion come over to relieve the cast members. It is great to talk to them about their travels and country while you are taking a break.

MGM-Studios -- just inside the entrance near guest services on the left as you enter.

Animal Kingdom -- near the Creature Comforts gift shop in the Safari Village on the left side of The Tree of Life.

In addition all of them have childrens toilets if you are having a hard time using the regular ones.[/QUOTE]

that is great to know! My 3 year old will be very happy!

The only thing that will ever make that discussion "moot" is people realizing that there is absolutely nothing objectionable about seeing a mother breastfeeding her child.

Who are you to make that decision for everyone????

Actually, the law says it. In most states, including Florida, it is actually illegal to ask a nursing mom to move or to cover up. Breastfeeding is not considered indecent in any way under law. So, it's not just me.

You're always free to turn your head or look the other way if it bothers you for some reason. :confused3 Can't imagine why it would, though, since you'll see more exposed skin at Typhoon Lagoon any day of the week.

I didnt realize that these even existed. I just thought they were bathrooms that had more changing tables. Plus I never rean across them but they seem like they are not that handy. I am not going to be at the end of MK and go all they way back to the front to change a diaper. If I was breastfeeding I certainly wouldnt do that. You would spend much of your day sunning back and forth. Now if these are so great (and they do sound awesome) perhaps Disney should put more than one in at a park considering how many babies and young children visit Disney. :flower:

GEM- The statement you made is that there is nothing objectionable about it, you said nothing about the legality of it, two completely different issues..

This is why these sorts of ridiculous arguments are still taking place. I guess I honestly don't care if anybody finds it objectionable to see a woman breastfeeding her child in public - just like I don't care if you object to women having the right to vote or to black people sitting in the front of the bus. Both of those were once very controversial topics that now most people don't give a second thought to. Why? Because public opinion on those topics gradually changed. As for now, the law is on the side of the mother and baby. So, go ahead and find it objectionable all you want, but the law, the medical community, and the majority of public opinion says otherwise. Hopefully, with the help of legislation, moms nursing in public will soon be a common enough site that people will let go of their crazy hang-ups when it comes to this subject.

I'm done with this thread now. I'm not going to irritate the OP (who had some great information to share!) or risk getting this thread closed by getting drawn into another totally pointless debate on this subject.

Now THIS is helpful to know! I have used the Baby Care Center by Crystal Palace before (for nursing DS) but had no idea they had the "little toilets", too. Do all of the Baby Care Centers have them or is it only the one at MK? DD is fine with using any toilet but we might be facing a trip with a potty-training toddler.

StoryLand, a Theme Park I go to on NH has "Quiet Rooms" for moms and baby at just about every rest room throughout the park. They are not very big, a few rockers and changing stations, but convenient. I think WDW should consider putting these throughout the parks. Sometimes, a small child/baby (and parents :teeth: ) having 1/2 hour of quiet time can make all the difference in the world

Totally agree. We have been there a few times and its so nice to have a quiet place to change the baby. And there are so many of them.

I have a 3 year old dd and the day we arrived I visited the baby care center. I felt like I had walked into another dimension. It's so clean and quiet!

My dd was feeling stressed because we were up since 5am to catch the plane and by the afternoon she had had a long day. She still uses her pacifier at night but I didn't have one with me (it was in our luggage). So we stopped at the baby care center and bought one. She used it for a few minutes to fall asleep. The $2 was well worth the nap!

They had everything in there for babies too!
