Thursday 25th & Friday 26th August

We were up really early today and finished packing.

We checked out and were at the Travel City LBV check-in by 8.30. We couldn’t get any seats upstairs but had row 25, 4 seats together in the middle. We didn’t even have a window seat which we would have liked, never mind there is always next year.
After check in we went to the Golden Corral on the 535 which we hadn’t eaten in on this trip.
The breakfast was really good and Theresa said her favourites were the iced doughnuts and the apple Danish pastries, not really British breakfast items (I wondered if Theresa is turning into an American). :wizard:
Breakfast was $26 and worth every penny.

After breakfast we had a round of crazy Golf (another tradition on our last day).

This time it was at the Hawaiian Rumble where Theresa kept score and took photos. Callum and I must hang our heads in shame as Maddie won and she is normally last by a long way (I blame the weather, as by the time we finished the fronds on the palm trees were blowing at right angles.)
Next we went to Wal-Mart ( just couldn’t resist one last visit) and yes more scrapbooking stuff but this time it had to go in the hand luggage as we had checked the cases.

We then had a last treat and went to Steak N Shake and all had a huge milkshake each.
This was a great way to end the holiday. YUMTASTIC

At the airport by 3.00 but the flight was delayed for 1 hour due to technical problems
so we were away by 6.00 pm.

The food was Ok - sausage and mash or chicken and veg, and the films were Valiant and Monster in Law which were both watchable.

We made good time and landed just after 7.00 am., met Peter and were home by 9.00.

We dropped the cases in and we had picked the pets up by 10.00 (We missed them so much, it was good to be home).

Maddie sorted through the pile of post and found her exam results.
She needed a little encouragement to open them, she even asked Theresa to do it for her but in the end she did it

She had 6 A*’s and 5 A’s so perhaps she is right and everything I say is stupid (and if that’s the case you must be even stupider for having read all of my rambling gibberish).

Summary and some scrapbooking pages to follow shortly.

Callum is know happy as he is back doing what he loves, driving us all mad with the noise (note the new red guitar all the way from the US of A)

Thank you for reading and I hope you have as much fun on your holidays as we did on ours.

Tony & Theresa Buckland

Thanks Tony, I have really enjoyed reading all your trip reports and looking at your photos. BTW I love the photo of your dogs, they're gorgeous :) and well done to your daughter for her exam results

Excellent trip reports.

Great exams results WELL DONE

looking forward to the scrapbooking pictures

Well Done Maddie :) , cute doggies and what a Rock Star!!!!

Looking forward to seeing some Scrapbooking pages :)

I wish I'd known that Theresa and Maddie were into scrapbooking when I met you as I could have asked for directions to the shops - we never did find Michael's and I didn't know where any other places were. I did spend a lot in DTD though.

Well done Maddie on your exam marks!!

Libby

Thanks Tony for a great report, have thoroughly enjoyed reading your adventures, you must be proud to have two such talented kids, (even if they do have 'Kevin' moments) :goodvibes

Lovely report again. With the kids thinking you are stupid (speaking about myself here) it doesn't help when they get better GCSE results than yourself does it?

I bet your dogs were pleased to see you. I look after my parents' boxer dog a lot and he fairly bounces around when he sees us after not seeing us for a day so you can imagine what he is like after a fortnight.

I am so pleased Maddie did so well, you must be very proud of her. What is she studying at college? Our oldest is desperately deciding on what University course he wants to do at the moment, current favourite is Forensic Investigation and Consumer Law.

Thankyou for your nice remarks
Wicket Maddie is studing Econmics, business studies, RE, Geography & Maths

Hope all goes well for your son.

Thanks. Wow that is a lot of AS levels, she will need a holiday after all that.

Thanks so much for the great trip report. Maddie, congratulations on a fantastic set of results, sounds like the holiday was well deserved. :cheer2: Doggies are gorgeous and I would love to see some of those scrapbook pages, just to know what its all about. I may develop a new hobby ;)

Thanks again on the great photos and detail, i will look forward to next years,

Claire xx

Aww gorgeous doggies :) I always mine my pets soooo much when we go away. Well done to Maddie on such excellent results :cool1: Thanks for sharing your reports and photos with us

Excellent job, Tony. Thoroughly enjoyed reading along, day by day. It was an ideal way to do the reports and really made them come alive with all the pics. Glad we were able to meet up at the RnC - let's hope a few more turn up (all in the same place!) next time :)
