Does anyone have any info on the Attic at the Boardwalk?

Are there guest and food/beverage requirements? Average costs?

We were thinking of doing the Escape Package with 18 guests and have a 10am ceremony then have the reception at the Attic from 11-2.

And could the cake cutting and toast take place there?

The food and beverage minimum for events ending before 5pm is $1,000. You can customize your menu to suit your taste and budget as long as you meet that minimum. There are no guest minimums, and you're well under the max. Thank you so much! I found PDF files of standard brunch menus like Briar Rose and Tinker Bell and said 25 person minimum..so that is a relief to hear! I liked what they had in those menu offerings, but could do without some of it also.

We aren't thinking about having the wedding in 2016, but I just wanted to have a general budget configuration to show our families because we would like to be around the $10,000 range for whats included in the Escape package, brunch reception, and any possible enhancements - especially photography/videography (which I am not sure about because I don't know to have Disney do it or an outside source).

Is there a rental fee for the Attic? I was told there is a fee to use your iPod for entertainment. I don't know if I cold pay the violinist that's included to stay longer?

There is no venue rental fee for the Attic, just the food and beverage minimum. You can pay to have an iPod-compatible sound system brought in—we did it for our wedding reception at the Attic. It seems likely that Disney would let you pay to extend the time that you have the musician so s/he could follow you to the Attic, especially if you're doing the cake and Champagne reception up there too.

I think you mentioned in another thread that you were interested in buying the most expensive photography and videography packages. You might want to look into using an outside photographer and/or videographer, since they often offer more for the same price or a lower price than Disney, plus you know exactly who is guaranteed to shoot your wedding. There is no credit for not using the photography included with Escape, but (right now, anyway) they will let you swap it for a honeymoon photo session or dessert party photography.

FYI- my coordinator would not allow us to have our cake cutting and champagne toast up in The Attic for our December 2013 Escape wedding. She said we had to do it at SBP, but we were able to move and then serve our cake after the brunch in The Attic.

Well I'm hoping my 2016 that I can have the cake cutting there since it seems to have been an issue for some.

I found an outside photographer (Randy Chapman) and videographer (STVS) that offer great deals and people seem to recommend them on here.

And I compared today's prices to PassPorters from 2011 and nothing has really increased, so as of right now it seems like I can do everything that I want when the time comes.

Lurkyloo...I was just wondering about the set-up for the Attic. Do I need to pay for any supplies such as the table linens and plateware or is that included? I assume if I wanted a centerpiece that I would need to pay for that. Is there a certain time frame I need to be looking into for reserving? Also, my fiance expressed interest in the fireworks cruise but reviews have been mixed, I just wanted to know your opinion with that versus a dessert party. Thanks!

When you do a catered event at Disney, the basic prices you pay include standard white table linens and basic dishware, flatware and glasses. Floral, decor and upgraded linens and tableware cost extra. When you can book depends on whether you're having a DFTW or booking through Disney Catered Events. For an Escape event you can book at 8 months.

Which kind of fireworks cruise were you considering? We really liked the IllumiNations cruise when our boat was allowed to pull up alongside the France Pavilion but didn't think it was that great when the boat was required to stay under the France-UK bridge. And that's determined on a night-by-night basis, unfortunately. People seem to have generally more positive reviews of Wishes fireworks cruises because you're out on the open water.

So if we're talking about IllumiNations, I'd say a dessert party is a much safer bet than a fireworks cruise because you're guaranteed a "front-row" spot. Plus, DESSERTS!!!

My fiance loves IllumiNations, so I thought that would be a nice way to end the wedding day.

What we are trying to decide is if having our guests under a quick and table service dining plan for two days is more affordable then paying out of pocket for each meal (Well I'm hoping his parents would contribute to this because it would be around $2,400 for 18 people, a majority of which is his family).

But if we were to do that, we would need to see if Friday's quick-service could roll over for Saturday for those with later flights because they would not need to use it because of the reception.

And if we did the dining plan, they would get a dessert, which would defeat the purpose of the dessert party in my mind. But I read smoke has been an issue during the IllumiNations cruise, so Wishes might be better, even though he didn't like how far away the boat seemed to be from pictures he found.

But, we need to see if investing in a dining plan for everyone is a good idea or not. I personally would love a dessert party at Epcot because I'm all about the sweets!
