Hi everyone! I am in the early stages of planning my DFTW, and I am looking at The Attic as our reception location. Now, the Passporter guide says combining indoor and outdoor seating the venue accommodates 50 people. Disney's "Special Venue Guidelines" states 30. I know this is something I will need to discuss with my coordinator, I was just looking to see what other people have experienced. Thanks in advance :goodvibes

Disney has started using 30 as the capacity for the Attic because that's how many can fit inside if weather prevents you from using the balcony (well, according to DFTW — the room's maximum-occupancy sign tells a different story). However, rarely is Florida's weather bad enough to drive you from a covered balcony. I would say that if your group is anywhere between 30 and 50, you should pursue it if you have your heart set on The Attic.

We viewed the attic back in 2009 and it was a gorgeous location - I gasped when I walked in the room because I wasn't expecting and it and the views were perfect. I think you could get 50 guests in there easily, there is lots of space. How many places have a balcony also? Seems strange that they have said 30 :confused3

Thanks for the feedback! I'm really in love with the look of the Attic so it's definitely something I hope to pursue.

If you are planning on a summer wedding, it might be too hot/humid to use the outdoor seating area even if it is covered. The 30 number is for seating at actual tables inside and out. Once you go over that number, guests are sitting on the sofas and chairs, using coffee tables and end tables for their plates.
