Hi,

Just returned from a recent trip "Home" ... I noticed a sign in the lobby that read " Family Breakfast in the Attic" so I ask the front desk and they said it was a private event.

Also, I noticed that the lights were on a couple of nights and activity in the Attic ... asked again and told private event.

Are members still paying for the up keep of this room? Who gets the revenue from renting? How is revenue split between resort/DVC?

Before I call MS, I figured someone here would be in the know...

Thanks in advance,

-Chuck

We recently spent a week in a room immediately outside The Attic. There always seemed to be corporate functions going on. I assumed it existed to accommodate groups, but wasn't interested enough to inquire. Even if it was open to the public, we'd have had no interest.

My assumption is that it's privately held and there is no DVC involvement. Maybe I'm wrong (and I'm curious to see if I am), but I assumed that ALL of the restaurants were run independent of DVC. Even someplace like Olivia's, at a 100% member-owned resort, I assumed was owned and operated by Disney not DVC / DVC members.

"The Attic" is privately managed and is not a component of BWV owner's maintenance fees ... BUT ... when BWV was originally announced "The Attic" was supposed to be a gathering place for BW owners and other DVC members where they could enjoy watching fireworks and otherwise socialize. Somewhere along the way that concept was scrapped and the facility has never been a public space.

It would appear that is does get good utilization for these private functions.
