Hey guys, I've only ever booked at least 7 months out for anywhere. Do you think a 2BR (any view) would be available in mid-May to book for August? Here's what I'm up to...

My parents (also members) and I are splitting the points for a week in a 2BR in August to bring my two teenaged nieces down. So 7 of us -- me, DH and DS in the studio and my parents in the master.

Right now we have a reservation for OKW.

My dad is such an OKW lover (and I am too :lovestruc) and insists we need the extra space, but for this trip I've been thinking we'd be better at AKV for the sleeper chair and extra bathroom for the girls. Size of the unit won't be as crucial since we won't be in the room a ton. We have a minivan rented so location not so big a deal either.

I am also going to AKV first week of May with my family and my parents (who have never stayed at AKV) so I am hoping while we're there I can sell him on the switch for the August trip.

What do you think?

I think that your nieces would really have a "WOW" factor at AKL more then they would at OKW. And, like you said, the extra bathroom and sleeper chair would be a nice bonus!

You will have the sleeper chair at OKW as well so you don't need to take that into consideration.

Why are you waiting until mid-May to book? The sooner you can book, the better your odds at getting anything.

See last part of my OP. I was saying that I am hoping the argument will be made for me when he sees what it's like to stay at AKV.

Why don't you talk to your parents now and set out your reasons for changing to the AKV? I would bring up the point about the extra bathroom being one of the perks especially with the teenagers.
If it were me, I would not wait until May, I broach the subject now.
