The Apprentice - Did you watch?

I'll be sure to watch the next rerun of the Apprentice, it's usually repeated on CNBC three or four times during the same week.

I can't believe how much those small houses are valued at. WOW!!!

Funhouse,

Do you or your neighbors know beforehand that was the filming of the Apprentice 2?

I saw on a interview that the filming of Apprentice 2 was a nightmare due to the celebritism of Carolyn and George, whenever those two would appear, everyone around would clamor about.

Give us details please !! I love the Apprentice.

Does anyone else thing Raj was right on with getting rid of the 4th bedroom to make 3 larger rooms?

Nope! With the limited time they had, they should have just renovated the house that could have been done. This would at least allow them time to complete the task. Unfortunately, the walk-through shown just that and Raj knows it was terrible. As good as he is, he made a bad decision and he suffered the consequences...

I didn't see your dog, but that is pretty exciting!! :) Did you know it was the Apprentice they were filming while they were in your neighborhood?? How cool!

I really wish Trump would fire Ivana, I can't stand her!

The price of those houses, wow. Homes in my area that look like that go for $80,000-$1200,000. How do you people pay your mortgages.

$280,000-$350,000 would buy you the biggest mansion in Wisconsin. Home might go for that in Milwaukee, but no where else in Wisconsin.

We reallly didn't know about it ahead of time. It wasn't on my block but a few blocks away. I did notice there were alot of helicopters flying about and someone at my sons LAX game said they were filming the Apprentice. I was glad it was that because it was also the weekend of the belmont stakes and thought something happened at the track.

The kids were all around the houses trying to get on TV and talk to carolyn but we stayed away. While watching TV we were looking for the neighbor kids and low & behold- My Dog!

Yes, our houses cost alot of money on Long Island and we are house poor. The taxes really kill us. Maybe when we retire we will move to Wisconsin, Gods knows we can't stay here. LOL Gina

Did anyone else think 20k was not enough to do much? Usually contractor and house prices geographically match.

Heck I'm pricing a kitchen and 20 doesn't seem enough.

I saw your dog and so the my dog! We have a little white Westie & he usually notices when there is an animal on the TV. I remember commenting when he barked at the shot of your dog that he probably thought is was his big brother. Very cute dog!

I went back and checked my videotape--he really is a cute dog, looks very friendly (I'll bet he's great with kids!). I just hope his 15 seconds of fame doesn't go to his furry head...

I only saw bits and pieces of the show, but I can't understand why a contractor would not come through when his work was being shown on national TV. Would anyone want to hire someone who couldn't get the job done when television cameras are watching?!? I sure wouldn't!

LOL, we had recorded Apprentice and watched it last night...I knew to look out for your dog, and there he was :) :) :)

I thought the exact same thing!::yes::

Hello Gina from one Franklin Square neighbor to another!I don't post much (too shy) but been around these boards for a long time. It figures the only episode I miss on this show and it is the one in my neck of the woods. I'll try to catch it again sometime.

A quick opinion on Raj changing the rooms. Many people that buy houses here usually convert them afterward. There are tons of dormers going up all over the place. If you change the layout of the rooms most likely people just do them over anyway.

(Going back to lurking now)

It also occured to me that Raj's idea on 3 vs. 4 bedrooms--he probably wasn't thinking about the right "target market". For a single or childless couple, 3 bedrooms would be plenty, and you might like a larger master BR. But the neighborhood they were working in was clearly a middle-class, parents raising your kids type of neighborhood. The fact that he worked in real estate and didn't notice such an important factor about the location of the house certainly didn't help him.

Hi Joanie, it's nice to meet you. If you can catch the show it was pretty funny to see our neighbor on TV. It looked pretty nice too, we are lucky to live here. Do you have any kids and where do they go to school. Maybe we know each other.:D Gina
