Yes, that's right, it's that time of year again.. time for the postcard exchange.

This exchange is open to young and old alike

Sign ups are open until Friday 16th June

Mail out by Friday 30th June

This year I am setting limits to make it easier for me and fairer on all you guys....

If you sign up, you must send a minimum of 2 envelopes (3 postcards to one envelope) and there is a maximum of 5 envelopes per person

If you are intersted in signing up.. please PM me with the follwing info...

Name
Address
e-mail
number of exchanges (envelopes) you are signing up for
International yes/no
If you would like your postcards to be written on or left blank
Childrens gender and age (if signing up children)

Also, if you are able to be an elf should we need some.

What do we write on the cards you ask? It can be just a simple greeting or you may like to talk about what is on the postcard (local info etc).

Ok... if you are interested then you send me a Pm with the required info... then once the signups close all names will go into a draw and you will receive a PM from me with the names of those who you are to send your postcards to... so it's a minimum of 2 envelopes (3 postcards to one envelope)..

So, if you signed up for the minimum of 2 then you woud receive 2 different people to send your cards to and would then receive 2 envelopes from 2 other people.

The more people that sign up, the less chance there is of sending to and receiving from the same person (s).

There will be a postcard exchange sent/received thread started as soon as the names are out. On that thread is where you would need to post that you have mailed your envelopes (not who to) and then post again when you receive and who you received from.

Postcards can from your local area or if you have some extras from somewhere you've visited they are fine as well.

Some people like their cards to be left blank and others like to have something written on them.. often an explanation about the postcard and maybe a bit of local info.

Hope that covers what you needed to know..

If you still aren't sure... feel free to ask more questions.

Hope you decide to join us for some fun.

Come on folks.. this exchange really is so inexpensive and so much fun.

All that is required of you is to purchase 6 postcards, pop them in an envelope, purchase a stamp and send them on their way. In return you get 6 postcards from 2 people and get a taste of where they live along with some local info if you wish your cards to be written on.

So, what are you waiting for??? Send along those names and have some fun..

Don't forget.... you can sign up your Children as well.. We have 4 children already signed up.... plenty of room for more.::yes::

Okay I'm not getting something....

The three postcards sent to one other person are to have three different hints/views of where we live. It's just simply for the receiver to receive three different postcards?

Not hints.. just maybe a little info about the postcard.. like how close to where you live it is.

Three postcards to one person in an envelope.. but 3 diff postcards of your area or a local tourist attraction, or even somewhere totally different that you've been and have a spare postcard of.

Colour me totally stupid :artist: I am a "newbie" to this board .... NOT to using 'puter, just to your lingo at time. Guess we all have different ones wherever we frequent eh? I made GOOD use of this board about 6 years ago whilst planning a trip for family. NOW i am just wishing. But uhm, can you tell me just how do I let you know?? What the heck is PM?? I can not figure that part out. :confused3

Ok, here goes again... if you are interested in this exchange then signups are open until Friday. After which all names will go into a draw and you will all receive a Pm from me with the names of the people who you are to send your postcards to as well as whether they would like to have their cards written on or left blank.

One the names (Pm's) are out I will start a postcard exchange sent/received thread where I would hope you would all post when you have your postcards in the mail (before 30th June) and again as you receive you cards and who you received them from.

Without those posts I have no way of knowing who has sent their cards and who still needs to receive, so it's very important that you all post as soon as you have your cards in the mail.

So, if you draw someone who would like their cards written on, you just write a bit about the postcard... like where it is, what it is.. anything interesting about it... just stuff that someone in a foreign land might be interested to know.

The idea of this exchange is to give you all in little taste of where someone else lives and of course to have fun.

It's great for school children too.... who knows when they may need to do a project and you may have sent or even received a postcard or two that is able to be used.

I've been collecting postcards for many years and my own children have used them for their school projects and believe me.... postcards are way better pics than what you find in travel brochures etc.

So, having said all that.. I hope you all now undertand what it's all about and will think about joining us for some fun.:wizard:

lisaviolet.. yes.. the idea is for the receiver to receive 3 different postcards.. different scenes, places or whatever...so long as they are different.:)
