The annual BTG Watch

Yes, I think I saw 3 or 4 last week carrying those stupid flags and they were all wearing the same color T's. I didn't notice them doing anyting stupid though, these were sorta keeping to themselves, unusual I know :confused3

I was trying to be nice by not writing the whole thing because I didn't want people to be mad at me!!

Sorry, I think any way you put it, you are going to have people mad at you.popcorn::

LOL!!! Funniest thing I've read on these boards in a while. We've learned to run ahead of them if they're headed where we are...

That's "for the record" in Portuguese.... ;)

Anyway, para o registro, we had a fun experience with a BTG on our last July trip. We were waiting (and waiting) for Fantasmic and way down front was an energetic BTG. Well after a while they started leading us in chants, songs and the wave. It was a lot of fun and it really made the time go faster.
That was my one & only experience with Brazilian teenagers, so I thought I'd float that out there to help offset all the line-skipping and otherwise unruly behavior that may be rehashed in this thread.

We really haven't encountered rude behavior by the BTGs. There are just so many of them and all together. They have a great time, but they do tend to be a bit loud and rowdy for us. We always say that there must not be ANY people but old ones left in Brazil during July. ;)

Just returned home from the World last night. We saw two female BTG's and they were their usual 'it's all about us and nobody else' attitude.

One of the Innovations through passageways is half closed and MAYBE can fit five people across total, going in either direction. They were walking four and five across taking up the whole area, expecting everyone to get out of THEIR way.

The other encounter was between the elevators outside the Contempo Cafe at CR. The leaders were yelling loudly 'Chicas, chicas'. They were also taking up the whole area so it was tough to get off the elevators or through the passage way to the monorail elevators.

I guess that's what bothers me most about tour groups and other visitors too. So many times the attitudes are 'it's all about us; what do you mean other people are on vacation here and paid just as much as we did??'

I was in MK yesterday(7/3). I saw at least 2 groups. One did the obnoxious singing in the Jungle Cruise queue. Thank God I was in the fast pass line and knew they wouldn't be on my boat! Also, after the fireworks when it was very hard to get out,I passed 2 different groups SITTING IN THE ROAD!!!! I passed a CM standing next to one of the tour guides and I said to her I hope you're telling them to get out of the road and she said yes they were. I then said loud enough that the guy would hear,"I don't know what idiot told them they could sit in the road!" The guy gave me a look but didn't say anything.

We were at POFQ June 20-27 and they were staying there. Lots of noise upstairs at night-singing, yelling and furniture moving! I wanted to chant outside their rooms at 5 AM when I got up!;) We lucked out in the parks-we seemed to be going in the opposite direction of the groups of hundreds. Of course, as we passed we had to brace ourselves not to be knocked down! I guess August is the only safe month.

Nope, Aug is NOT safe.. I sighed them in Aug, Sept, Oct, Dec, Jan, Feb, March and April... I think it has been a littler better in the last few years. Or I have devoloped a better 'tude to them, like running and screaming in the op. direction. And since I am a Pooh sized person, I can stand very, very solid! As can my 6'3" Big little bro. And it helps if you are a mom and have that whole narrow eye thing going.
Finally, I have found that if you can take the time to find one of them that understands english that they can be fun to talk to. Or if they are still rude most CMs are quite good at handeling any problems that arises from the line jumping - like removing them from the ride, or one time from the park! Doesn't pay to really get in a CMs face when you have offended the entire line behine you....:scared1:

BTW, DS 17, just found out they were at the parks. His eyes rolled but as I told him some of the girls are very pretty. He shrugged, but then I reminded him that they almost all have fab bodies, don't wear a lot, and if one bends over or takes a deep breath it is very entertaining for most males. That he did agree with! Add in wet clothing and YIKES!

My DS 19 LOVES the BTG girls, he thinks they are really hot. We've never, ever had any problems with the groups. And DS would be very disapointed if they weren't there when we visit.:goodvibes

I have to say, we've had some bad experiences in the past, but on our most recent trip I was going through a crowd with a suddenly sick little girl and a big tray of food, and a member of a BTG noticed, cleared a path for me, and held a door open. It helped me be a little more open-minded. :goodvibes

We saw a couple groups on our trip (june 23-30). The only thing that was slightly annoying was the leader leading everyone with a whistle at Epcot. Other than that, they were fine.
