We were supposed to meet our friends at MK at 9:00, but, didn't wake up until 7:45. We were so tired from our long day yesterday, we were slow moving. Somehow, we did get there by 9:15 which wasn't too bad. This family really needs 2 hours to get up, dressed, organized (water bottles, squeeze breeze filled, fanny packs packed). We get better as the week goes on. Mainly because we take less & less to the parks with us as the week progresses. We walk across the bridge to Old Port Royale & fill up our mugs. Very good purchase for this thirsty family. Hop on the bus & lines are minimal. We feel that going to any park at opening is counter-productive. If you go an hour later than opening, all the craziness is over at the gates. If you go at opening, huge amounts of itchy-pants people are there & the lines are extensive. Just our opinion.
I love Main Street. So much hustle & bustle. Our little one spots Alladin. What a nice character. He spends quite a bit of time with her. We get a few other autographs & then meet our friends at the Walt & Mickey statue. Since we know we will be at MK a few more times this week, we tell our friends to lead the way & go on whatever they are interested in. Keep in mind, these folks have no kids & have no idea what they are doing here! LOL! So we do stuff like HoP, HM, PotC, SM, Buzz, BTMR, ExtraTerrestrial Encounter. See the pattern; stay out of Adventureland & Fantasyland. We do stop & see Cinderella's Surprise Celebration, but can tell that this is not what they enjoy. It was HOT this particular day, so we decide to head out around 2:00 & go back to our hotels. They stayed at the Hilton in DD.
The kids swim & the husbands golf. My girlfriend, the 2 kids, & I decide to meet in DD at Virgin MegaStore (guess who wants to go there) at 6:00. Guess what....major league storm brews just as we are on the bus to DD. Those dollar ponchos come in handy again & we are drowned rats once more. At this point, I have ruined 2 pairs of shoes in 2 days. Red dye from last night & black dye from tonight. I have tie-dye feet! We decide to run across the street to Wolfgang Puck Express & eat. Good food. The best mashed potatoes I have ever eaten. We are stuck there for over an hour. Major Lightning! Finally, I say let's go & brave this weather. I am not kidding, water up to our ankles! I felt so bad dragging my kids around in this, but had no choice! We just had to laugh. Water was running down my nose like a waterfall! Got back to the hotel & had to wring our clothing out. Husband still got 14 holes in. "Tomorrow night" I declare "we are staying at the resort"!

I did dry two or three days in a row near the vent in the rooms....had to.....or slosh with the shoes.....thanks so much for reminding me to make sure I bring two or three pair and a pair of water shoes

That brought back memories. A few years ago, was there in August with the kids. Hit a major rain storm. Stayed under a bridge for awhile, it seemed to let up. We decided to brave it and and got caught in a huge down pour. By the time we got to the bus stop we were dripping. However, everyone else waiting for the resort bus was completely dry. They were looking at us like, what the heck happened to you. LOL oh well..so far it sounds like your having a great time. Thanks for the memories....
