Oh Nan, this has me in tears.....
They were crying too
Nancy
I would have stopped and the red and black beans
Maybe someone will pick up the spoon and start cooking also
Sheryl Yak and Yeti was awesome.
The girls said the same thing....You were only gong to add beans, Mom......
Somewhere along the line they got the impression that the kitchen was mine and I am territorial

Gosh, someone could get teh impression that I am some kind of control freak
I was wondering about Yak and Yeti. We did not plan AK into our week but since I generally plan my days around my meals....who knew I am fixated on dinner?.... I had actually tried to add that park in just for the meal. I had heard such good things.
Nanatized the chili did ya?

Nancy I think this is one of the things I like the most about you. You don't mind sharing both your successes and failures and don't mind laughing at yourself. At least you have another dinner to add to the arsenal for times they tick you off.
My hit list for those "special" occasions seems to be growing pretty quickly lately
She's doing much better and I am SO enjoying my alone time.
I am happy to hear that. Once you go through a scare like the last one everything gets to be frightening.
I like a free evening too. I get in my comfies and just hang around. I like fussing over my family and having a busy home but I still treasure a quiet night.
Buddy will look for one of those as well. I know when he needs to just be alone when he asks me if I am going out when the girls head out or if he asks if Kady is coming with us. He is her best Buddy and and will indulge her play time imagination

way more than anyone else so he never gets a break when she is bored.
This is a new season. He decided he wanted to play some more, so he (I should probably say WE) joined the town's summer league. Starting next week, he is going to baseball camp for two weeks during the day, so he'll have six hours of baseball, then games some evenings. If THAT doesn't wear him out, I don't know what will!
The team won again tonight. Liam had two at-bats, saw two pitches and both of them hit him...the first one in the head!

He was completely fine though. On the way out of the game, I said the pitchers (two different ones) must have thought he was a really scary hitter so they hit him instead of pitching to him. He thought that was pretty funny. He was on deck when his team made its last out...I have to say I was a little relieved!

.
If you have a baseball fanatic nothing will wear him out. Debbie could play all year long all day each day and still try to add an extra hour to the 24 we already have. As a Mom, the ball has to scare the sox off of you every time it comes near him if he is a ball magnet
Shoyu Chicken
On the dinner front, grandma stopped by and asked the boys if they wanted to go to Burger King for dinner. So much for staying away from fast food!
Well this is right up my alley. I made one that was similar but had some maple in it. My DH was horrified that I made his chicken taste like pancakes

so this one may terrify him less.
I would not mind if their grandma asked me to go to BK, lately I am eating so much salad that I may turn into a bunny
Dinner tonight is supposed to be Chinese food. A few of the WW girls are going together for pedicures and then maybe having dinner at the Chinese restaurant next door. Kady is joining us for dinner because she usually comes to the meetings. She likes to be part of the clapping crowd
I may need to change plans, Buddy's Aunt is pretty sick. His family has a lot of issues with each other but he is close to this lovely lady and her girls. We had gotten a call from his sister but she generally uses scare tactics and his Mom never told us (I have been emailing her and she responds, she never mentioned that Chris was in the hospital) so we really thought that she exaggerated again. I called his cousin and was told that her Mom has an aggressive form of cancer that is present in her stomach, her lymph nodes, her pancreas and lungs. She was intubated yesterday because she did not have a DNR and today the Dr's are going to run more tests and then reassess.
His cousin called me last night and apologized for not having a chance to call him and that just broke my heart. He is their favorite cousin, and was the one they always count on to keep in touch and to support them when they need him, but this has just overwhelmed. Her Mom was fine up to six weeks ago and then began to vomit some blood. She was treated for ulcers but when she went to her primary Dr, he found the cancer. Her first round of chemo was broken into two segments in order to allow her body to process everything, and the Dr's are not sure if it was still too much for her. She is not in one of our major hospitals so I am worried about that too but at this point there is nothing to be done about that.
I am not sure if he wants to go see her today, I am not even sure if we would be overstepping so I am going to let the girls lead us where we need to go.
They have placed her in His hands and will pray that if she is meant to be better she will be and if not that she will not suffer. Please say a prayer for them and one for Buddy as well. He is a man who internalizes pain and hurt so he is just so sad.

I don't even know what to say, he keeps trying to find reasons why his mother did not create one little message or include any information about his aunt. He cannot believe she would deliberately not tell him something knowing how much he cares about this woman.
I am sorry to keep coming her for prayers, I just know that you all listen so well.
