HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KATHY!

My cleaning takes forever because I get too easily distracted...hmm...what's in this box? Oh...old photos! Maybe I should sort them :rolleyes1

 Oh Laura, that sounds too much like my method. I don't think I'll ever be organized.

And since I've been on here not being able to read nor sleep, it has officialy become Kathy's Birthday!!!

I was wondering what you were doing posting so late. I hope it is because you have an exciting life and not because you weren't feeling well.

The Dr does not know what is happening to my Aunt. So far the tests are all negative but they are going to test her gall bladder and look for a virus lurking around somewhere. She would not eat a thing last night and I don't think she ate lunch either. Pat said that was how she was over the weekend, no appetite. She did try to "donate" her dinner to the lady in the next bed, the poor woman was sick, nauseous and had diarrhea. No she did not want my Auntie's meal.

Prayers for your Aunt. I hope they figure out what the problem is quickly. The not knowing is so very worrisome.

WFD- not sure. I think DS, DM, and I are going to my DgodM for a BBQ and swim. Weather is suppose to be unbearable. Only thing I will be making is a sandwich for DH to take to work, eggplant parm leftovers.

I hope you have a good time in spite of the weather. I'm not much of an outdoors girl in this heat, but I could be convinced if there was a pool involved. I'm sure your son will love his swim.

Kathy--yes, she is doing much better. She financially stable now on her own, and is coming into her own again. She is stronger and healthier. I'm very proud of how far she's come the past 6 months. And having her own place is a huge deal--so I am very happy for her, but at the same time wish my buddy was still just down the hall

Stephanie I'm sure you miss her and the house must seem much more empty (didn't she have children too?), but I know you're glad to see her getting back on her feet, financially and emotionally. From what I remember you telling us about her marriage, it took a lot of strength to leave and I know being with you helped her get back to the person she was before. I hope she continues to do well and finds happiness.

Oh Kathy, I'm so sorry to hear that! I hope it's something simple for her sake and yours. Keep us posted.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for the kind words. I wanted to respond last night, but all I could do as I read everything was cry. You are all really amazing and I cannot believe how fortunate I am so have such wonderful friends. (Even if Buddy thinks we are imaginary ;) )

Happy Birthday to Kathy and also to Glynis' DD!

Glynis, that is so nice that the nurse took that extra time for you. I hope she was able to reassure you and now you can go and enjoy your camping trip!

Gretchen, you are not a bad mom! I cannot even imagine the strength you must have.

Nancy and Maria, I am sorry that you are dealing with health issues for yuor relatives. I hope everything works out OK.

Janice, welcome back!

If I missed anyone, I apologize!

Here are some photos, nothing exciting. Sunday night we ate leftovers and watched a movie:

Monday night it was, yup, more leftovers from the weekend:

Tuesday night I just made panini:

Tonight is going to be another easy night. I am planning on making curried chicken salad from the final dregs of the leftover chicken, and then just heating up a baguette and putting out some olives and cucumbers. It's just too hot to cook!

Becky - Great pics as usual!!

Thanks for all the b'day wishes, y'all are the best! Good news to report on Sammie - she was walking funny early this AM and I immediately thought stroke, turns out she has a "hot spot" in her private area that was hurting her. POOR baby, but I'm so relieved and hopefully she will be relieved soon also when the spray they gave me starts to work.:goodvibes

Hey Y'all,

I was wondering what you were doing posting so late. I hope it is because you have an exciting life and not because you weren't feeling well.

Oh don't I wish! No just couldn't sleep. I borrowed a few paperbacks from my Mom, but just couldn't get into any of them. Every one of them seemed boring, after reading "Water for Elephants".

Kathy, I've only been there for lunch, but it was very good. It is set up just like Parrot Pete's, you place your order at the counter, ( Just in case you didn't know.)

I'm so glad Sammie is okay!! I know you must have been sick with worry. Hopefully now you can have a nice birthday!

Order at counter? I didn't know that.:confused3

By the way, at 9:30 this morning, the nurse from my doctor's office called me. She said, "I've been thinking about you all night long, and came in early to look over your test results again. I found Dr. Smith here, looking at them, too, and she said you are not to worry. The rise in numbers is so slight, that simply being over 40 could put those numbers over the top. I didn't want you to go camping and stress over this. I honestly don't think there's much to worry about at all." What a great lady she is! I love my doctor and her nurses! They really care about their patients. It's great! So, I will patiently (or not so patiently) wait for the ultrasound and just keep a prayer in my heart. Thanks, you guys, for all your positive comments, and prayers. It means so much to me to have you as my sounding board. You all feel like my family!

Thank God for good nurses - they really make the difference. I'm so thankful it's a good report to leave town on.

Don't know if ya'll remember or not, but my dsis was going through a divorce and had moved in with us for an undetermined amount of time. Well, she found a perfect apartment and moved out tonight. I'm really sad b/c now my "buddy" is gone. I really enjoyed having her here when DH works crazy hours (like now). Pretty lonely around here now. Okay, enough of my pity party

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KATHY!

I'm dittoing this - love the clipart!! Happy birthday Kathy!

I'm sitting in an empty and mostly dark dining hall in peace and quiet uploading pics to our blog. I got 3 solid hours of sleep last night, it was awesome. Even made a midnight Sonic run for some food so I wasn't in bed hungry (when I finally made it). I hope to work in a nap later this afternoon if I can figure out a nice way to bail on my counselors. (who are probably asleep right now because it's quiet time).

Last night was brisket, mac and cheese, potato salad, and cornbread. It was actually mighty tasty. Breakfast was sausage links and pancakes. I ate neither but instead just drank more coffee. Lunch was corndogs and beans - gonna love that boys cabin in an hour or so! :scared1:

We're having a fabulous week so far!

I'm glad to hear that she is okay. When you said she was on the way to the vet I worried she was sick. Have a good time tonight!

You should see what my leftovers look like if you think this is nothing special :lmao::lmao:

That sounds so good!

DD has been complaining about ear pain the past day or so-enough to be up 5 times last night! Guess she got something funky from the ocean/pool last week. I guess I"ll be calling the Dr. this morning--lovely, just one more thing to add to my to-do list

I hope that your DD gets over this "funk" soon. Summer ios not a good time to be sick.

I understand how you miss your sister.

Happy Birthday to all celebrating today, hope you have a wonderful day!:cheer2:

I do have an update on my Mom.....she has 5 bulging discs and major nerve involvement. Not good news at all. Yesterday makes it 2 weeks she has been home and besides her having major cabin fever we haven't been told about what to do next. I guess we are in a holding pattern at this point.
I hate to see her in so much pain and feeling "useless", she is very independent and this has not only made her body uncomfortable but her overall state of well being is concerning me.

WFD ~ something with swordfish & a salad.

Kathy -- I am glad Sammie is okay. Have a great birthday dinner!

My menu is similar to Becky's today. I am also making the curried chicken salad with the last of the leftover chicken, and I am having a tomato salad and parmesan breadsticks. We're eating early because Liam has another game tonight. It's in a town I always get lost in, so hopefully we make it!

:rotfl2: Glad to hear that you're eating better and having fun!:thumbsup2

Hopefully you'll find out soon what the best course of treatment will be. Keeping her in my prayers.

I would love to be a regular poster on this thread but I just can't seem to find the time. I do enjoy reading the interactions that you have with one another. Another reason I don't post very often is I dont always feel my dinners are post worthy. Now that summer is here and some of the activities have slowed down we are making a concentrated effort to cut way back on fast food for dinner. Anyway, last night I made a new recipe called Shoyu Chicken. It was so easy and so yummy. The kids loved it As for tonight that has yet to be determined.

Any dinner you may have is post worthy. Sometimes what you think of as normal and ordinary is new and different to someone else. Hang around when you have the time and have fun with us!:goodvibes

Please share your Chicken Shoyu recipe with us!

Don't feel obligated to read everything if you don't want to. Just pop in with your dinners and tell us what you are eating! Heck, sometimes even the folks that post all the time don't go back and read everything. We love to hear about all kinds of food! Tell us about shoyu chicken-it sounds Asian?
