thank you for posting it! i didn't find anything that looked good enough to spend a decent amount of money on. i wish they still had the inbada

Rachael... did they include a price list? In the past AKL IPO has sent the prices too.

Which "pot-thingy" are you talking about? And... we don't know how much any of this costs either!

The African Inspired Truffles. I keep calling them the pot-thingy ever since IPO refered to them by describing the pot first. I did get 2 prices from IPO;

the African Inspired Truffles; $30,-
The Zebra Domes; $20,-

The later does surprise me. $20,- for 3 zebra domes and a chocolate logo, where if you would order one zebra dome through in room dining as a dessert, it would cost you $7,49. The 3 would be cheaper, which doesn't sound very logical.

you only get one ZD with in-room dining?? No one can eat just ONE!

Elin, the ZD-option on the list you just posted contains 3 zebra domes and that logo-thingy. That's option one.

Option two; the one zebra dome is mentioned as a dessert option on the in room dining menu (or that is, the one posted on allears is srom july 2008), so that would be as a dessert to diner or lunch.

See here for that menu of 07/08: http://allears.net/menu/menu_aklin.htm

(see where it mentioned "celebrations and special events", they used to have the Inbada. I guess they replaced that part of the menu with new stuff for " celebrations and special events" being what you posted earlier today??)

Thanks for uploading the pics and prices. That gives me an idea of a few things that I could possibly order.

Kathy

I see that... but I just cannot imagine that they would bring only one and have the audacity to charge $7 + for it!!! they are not that big.

They must be figuring that if people willing to order in room dining, they're willing to pay for it with a 'nice' increased price.

For the ZD, I'm with you though. Just get a box at the Mara and take it to the room. That is, if I can't find them at the CL lounge, haven't got a clue of that yet.

CL Lounge usually has them and if not they are in the refrigerator at Mara for $3.95 for SIX of them!

Now this is why I love the DIS. There is just about nothing somebody on here doesn't know. :goodvibes

Now only to find out if the lemonade at the lounge is regular of light, but I'm going to bug IPO with that later on. Better give them something to do, right? :rotfl:

Do you mean the lemonade in the dispenser?? I would think it would be regular, otherwise they'd label it as Light since it would have aspartame or something in it?? :scared: Please let us know when you find out for sure!

Yes, I do mean the lemonade in the dispenser. I don't think there is any other lemonade around the lounge? Or at least, of the pics I've seen of the fridge, I couldn't detect any lemonade.

Lol, now you are making me wonder. Oh what the heck, I'm going to bother IPO again. :scared:

I thought you might be asking whether there was bottled or canned lemonade in the little fridge and if so, was it regular or light... See? I'm worrying too! :rotfl:

We'll just have to have some patience. I already sent the email asking about what drinks are available (read; don't want to spefically ask about the dispensers and have some info get left out) and if they had lemonade light available. If so, I would suspect that they would indicate where one can find it. Oh well, wait and see.

The answer is in!

Dumela!

During breakfast we have orange juice, mango juice, pineapple juice, apple juice, whole milk, 1% milk, skim milk and chocolate milk. The milk is out all day and the apple juice stays out during the snack period. For the rest of the day we have iced tea, lemonade (not light), african smoothie (our specialty non-alcoholic drink) and Coke products. We offer coke, diet coke, caffeine free diet coke, sprite, Fanta orange and Mr.Pibb. We also have beer and wine out during the appetizers. We offer a shiraz, a merlot, a chardonnay and a rose. The beers we offer are Michelob, Miller Lite, Tusker and Casablanca. the Tusker is a beer from kenya adn the Casablanca is a beer from Morocco. The beer and wine is available upon request when it is not out during the appetizers. During desserts we have cordials and those are Kahlua, Bailey's, Grand Marnier, Courvoisier and Amarula. The Amarula is similar to Bailey's but from Africa and made from the marula fruit. This drink is absolutely delicious and I recommend that you try it. We do not have lemonade light available on property. If you would really like this during your stay we can go buy it from a grocery store the day you arrive for you and place it in your room for you.

Dang. :scared: That leaves me back to the drawing board. I'm used to unlimited lemonade light at CBR. Somehow I don't think my pants will like it if I drink the regular stuff as much as I do the light stuff. (can't get it overhere, so I have to drink enough to last myself another year.)

Pineapple juice is a big big big :thumbsup2 though!!!

Can anybody help this goofball out? What is Mr. Pibb??

wow...I just realized we aren't suppose to post pics on this thread...oops....I guess I never read the beginning of the thread....sorry
does anyone know if there is a thread for AKL to just post pics...if not I guess I will start one

Hmm, I know the name of it. But what it actually is? No clue!

hmmmmmm.... how does one explain such an interesting drink?

From Wikipedia: W.W. Clements, a former CEO and president of the Dr Pepper/7-Up Company, described the taste of Dr Pepper as one-of-a-kind, saying "I've always maintained you can't tell anyone what Dr Pepper tastes like because it's so different. It's not an apple, it's not an orange, it's not a strawberry, it's not a root beer, it's not even a cola. It's a different kind of drink with a unique taste all its own."
