One dd would stand outside the window while we finished getting ready because it was warm out there.

Southern4sure.......you will have a comfortable stay. My dh told me that I couldn't have my house at the temperature those rooms were.

I really did LOVE Pop Century. But, when I do go again, which will be a long time....(probably when my dd's are in their teens)
I will go the week before Thanksgiving or the first week in December!!

After sailing on the MAGIC for a week, I am spoiled. A week at DW is no vacation!! It is a lot of walking and waiting. I loved being pampered on the MAGIC!! Can't wait to sail again!!

Hope

Tyler,

Do you know if there are any plans to put high speed internet in the POP rooms anytime soon?

Thanks for all the info about PC, I just finished reading every single post in this thread. We will be arriving at PC on June 12th. Every question I had was answered in this thread.

Just back from 3 nights at PC and we loved it. Everything is so cute, clean and fun. We didn't check in until 8:30 PM and recieved all room requests I put on reservation and faxed in 4 days prior. We were on the 4th floor,non-smoking room in the 70s B section, building 10. Very close to Classic Hall and parking lot.We had no problems with noise. We had an end room with only 1 shared wall, never heard neighbors. Only heard other toilets flush while in the bathroom. Room temp at 68 degrees was very comfy, actually cold, when came in in the afternoon and it was HOT outside(about 95). Had to raise the thermostsat to 72 so as not to freeze at night. We found out a few days before we left that my 13 year old sons good buddy was going to be at the hotel same time we were,my son had a great surprise,we ended up only a few rooms away. They enjoyed some evening arcade time together and were able to walk back to the room together, too. Some Disney magic,we didn't even request to be near each other! We were able to see fireworks from the balcony one night around midnight, another nice surprise. I had no complaints at all about the Pop and we are very picky.Food court was good, prices reasonable,we always got a table, etc. Got the refillable mugs and thought they were great. Besides coffee and soft drinks we were able to make a nice poolside punch 1 afternoon of our own vodka, their lemonade and sprite! Since my husband and I would have at least 2 drinks during the pool time at about $6.25 per bar drink, that alone more then paid for our mugs. We found housekeeping to be fine, brought extra towels promptly when requested and left us a cute towel duck to hold our toothbrushes! I tipped $4 daily, left an envelope by the sink each morning.
All in all I am a very picky hotel person, especially about cleanliness and my family was amazed I could not find 1 thing to complain about. We loved the Pop Century and would not hesitate to stay there again.

I haven't requested any rooms, have only said on booking form that my aunt will be using a wheelchair. I'm so excited I don't think it'll matter where our room is, lol
I have a daughter of 18 and a daughter of 7.

Pop Rocks!!!
I just got back to NY after a week stay at POP (monday to monday) and it was awesome. We stayed in the 80's building (room 9203). I didnt get to see Tyler though (was never around the front desk during "normal" hours).

Just wondering what room rates are like at Pop, rack, using codes, and APs. It sounds great and I may have to consider it on our next trip!

Thanks!:Pinkbounc

We got back a week ago and LOVED it there! We (me, DH, DS19, and DD12) were in room 3437. It was an end room in the 50's section, great location facing 60's and the lake. My sister and brother-in-law were 2 doors away in room 3439. None of us had any complaints about noise, room temp, etc. We walked out on Generation Gap bridge late one night after returning from the parks. It was so pretty and peaceful. We loved the food court, and my daughter and I were happy to see that they had a veggie burger.

There were some LONG bus lines to get back to POP from the parks, mostly at MK. But, they often had 2 buses at a time filling up! I'd still rather take the bus than worry about driving, parking, tramming, etc. etc. etc.!

My only suggestion would be to put up a sign over the frozen coke/blueberry machine saying something about how it takes a few minutes for it to "harden up". I saw many, many, many people filling their mugs, only to complain it was too watery and dump it out. I did this myself the first time. The second time I got it for my DD, I was walking around to get napkins, my soda, etc., and then noticed that in that time it had set and now was the proper consistency. I told several people this when they went to pour it out, but of course only a few listened!

I'm taking a solo trip (for the half-marathon!) in January, and am most likely going to try to stay at POP again!

Oh yeah! I forgot to mention that we DID get to see Tyler! My DH and I had met him once before (at DIS-Con II), and he was just as nice as we remembered!

I'm sorry to say that we never ran into any of the other DISers that Tyler told us were staying there at the same time.

Tyler,

To put an end to the "which rooms are(n't) smoking" can you post a complete list of room numbers for each ?

Thanks :D

Mark

Babyfatt.........I had a sloppy Joe one evening. I am a really picky person. It was not some thing that I really enjoyed, but it was different and I ate the whole thing. It was on a regular size hamburger bun. I had to eat it with a fork. The CM put so much on the bun that it was running over!

Unfortunetly, I do not have that information available to me at home.

If you wish to smoke in the room, yes. It is against US Federal law to smoke in a non-smoking hotel room.

Just wanting to say how much I have appreciated reading this thread and that.....I'll be there tomorrow:wave:

Maybe I'll see you Tyler:sunny:

The frozen blueberry thing happened to me! I went to get one to actually mix a little Vodka in and spilled it out when I saw how thin it was. My 17 year old daugter told me the scoop and I didn't believe her. Oh well, the lemonade and sprite made a pretty good punch instead.

Yo, Tyler!

Looking at some Pop pictures I had a thought. I know, scary huh.

Anyway, I just posted a thread asking what Pop Warner is. You don't have to answer that part. Someone wil answer that thread... I hope.

My question is: You mentioned that the All Stars resorts are designed for big groups and Pop is not. If I recall Pop has 30 +/- check-in/out stations. That is a lot, how many do the All Stars have or do they deal with large groups a different way?
