Hmm... I could have sworn it was on my first page. Oh well, it is now! :)

Hello Tyler!
First, let me thank you for this thread! It has been very useful!
Question - In the Transportation FAQ you mentioned that this is a "Magic On Demand resort" in Zone 5 - What does this mean?
Thanks,
Ted

It basically means that Zone 5 (Downtown Disney) is the hub responsible for the morning dispatching of the buses. Staging point is POP Cast Services.

Dispatching happens on a demand basis... so if the crowds are heavy, extra buses are sent.

Does anyone know if I can stick 6 people in a room. I personally know many people that have done it. Do they reallly knowthat this is going on and they just let it go or do I have to be very sneaky. I have twin 4 year olds along with my 8 year old and 10 year old and we really can't afford two rooms so if I need 2 rooms then we need to go to a motel outside Disney World. Please some suggestions. I wonder why they are so insensitive to bigger families, they have no economy rooms that can hold more than 4 people. That is why families have to hide kids so everyone can fit into one room and it is only to sleep so what is the big problem with them making some rooms bigger. I know why, greed! Shmora

How embarassing, I started a new thread with this question, no worries, I edited the post :o

Any who, here is my question:

I have a preferred room booked for May 19-29th. I was wondering if we'd be able to see fireworks from any of the rooms in the 60's buildings? I read somewhere that fireworks can be seen from one of the 50's buildings.

Have a super day everyone!

Thanks for the reply Tyler regarding the dry cleaning service. Is there somewhere for me to call that would give me a quote on the steaming of the formal dresses? I am sure they would charge us more than the average item.

Also Thank you for the great work you are doing here.

We arrive on Easter Sunday and I would like to order a cookie bouquet to surprise my family when we arrive.

First, I don't know who to order it from. Secondly, how do I make sure it gets into "our" room??? How does that work?

Thanks for all your help on these boards, Tyler. We're finally all packed and head out in the am for Thunder Bay then fly out on Sunday morning bright and early. Hope to see you at PC to thank you in person!

Hi there,
We're hoping to travel from the UK in Jan 2005 and I'm undecided as to whether to stay at Pop Century or All Stars:confused:
We have a 6 year old daughter who is pretty much impressed by the thought of staying at a WDW hotel  I'd hate to book Pop Century (which I'm pretty sure DH and I would enjoy more :) )
and DD be disappointed :(
It may seem a silly question but are there plenty of Disney type references at Pop Century or would we be better going to All Stars? DD is madly in love with both Minnie and Mickey :p
We're limited to the value resorts as DH had major neuro surgery for a long standing brain tumour in Jan this year so we're on a mission to save up
Any help would be much appreciated.
Alison

I have stayed at the All-Stars several times and was very happy, but am going to try Pop Century because my DS 11yo is excited about the three pools and the pop jet area! I also like the location. It's much more centrally located than the All-Stars (they are only close to AK and BB). We will be close to EPCOT and MGM Studios, with a ride to MK (but not as long as at All-Stars), but also closer to DTD and TL from POP. I like that there are three beverage stations too because the All-Stars only have one in the food court. Another plus for POP is that you can see some of the higher fireworks from Illuminations at EPCOT! When I looked at all of the things I liked at POP and compared it to All-Stars, POP won! I think any place you choose on Disney property will be magical and you will have a wonderful time! I know we always do.

3 beverage stations??? I missed that ~ where are they??

I got that information from somewhere I read about Pop Century and now I can't remember where. I've got 7-8 sites that I read and look at pictures since I'm not going to POP until June and need to have my Disney fix even if it is from pictures and reading TR's. LOL Maybe Tyler can tell if my information source was correct.

I'd be interested in a Hidden Mickey list for POP as well. Has anyone ever put one together? That would be so fun for our family - we are ALWAYS on the lookout for Hidden Mickeys, but we stink (!) so we don't find many........ :)

There's a book called Hidden Mickeys: A Field Guide to Walt Disney World's Best Kept Secrets by Steven M. Barrett that lists all the hidden Mickeys at Disney World, including the ones at the resorts. The book was published in April 2003 so Pop Century isn't in the book. Tyler has a picture of a Pop Century hidden Mickey on his web site . It's in the wall behind the Baloo and Mowgli figures.

I recently made reservations for Pop for Oct 3-9 on the WDW website. I chose the preferred room rate. My question is I want to stay in the 60's building is that the only preferred building? Will I be put there? Do I still need to call the room assigner and request the 60's building?

If you have a preferred room,it will be in the 1960s.The 1960s are the only preferred buildings. There are two buildings,4 and 5,on either side of the Hippy Dippy pool.I stayed in bldg.4 on the side facing Hourglass Lake and could see about half of Spaceship Earth and the Illuminations fireworks.I was on the 4th floor, but 3rd floor had a good view too.If that view interests you,you could request it.Of course, alot of people like to be facing the Hippy Dippy pool.HAVE A GREAT PC TRIP!:earsboy:

There are Disney references in EVERY decade. The 50's have Lady and the Tramp, the 60's have Baloo and Mowgli, the 70's have a giant Mickey phone, the 80's have Roger Rabbit, and the 90's have Disney.com. There are also Disney themed posers, borders, and comforters in the room. Remember, that Pop Century focuses on Pop Icons of the past, and Disney was a MAJOR contributor to those icons. :)

I think your daughter would enjoy Pop Century. We have three fun pools, a Pop Jet area (the first resort to have one) which is mighty popular, and a huge food court. Plus, with only one stop, Transportation is better than the All-Stars.

If you booked a Preferred Building ($10 per room per night extra) then you will be guaranteed the 1960's section. If you did not book a preferred building, then you will not get the 1960's section.

Tyler...I have read about many people bringing their own food and preparing it in toaster/microwave in the resort food court. Is this really okay to do?
