Hello!

I don't know if this has already been asked, but does anyone know which buildings or area is designated as smoking buildings??

My son has severe asthma and I want to make sure we're not put in an area with alot of smoke.

Thanks for the help!
;) :D ,

Hi all, I'm so excited!!! I've almost started packing for the trip. I'm trying to organize everything since the weather is up and down. I was wondering if the Pop Century rooms had the wall dispenser like the other All Stars or do they have the Mickey soaps and shampoos? Also, is there a blow dryer in the room or will I need to bring one? I agree, where could we meet Tyler! He's been so very helpful!

Thanks!!!

I am already packed and ready to go!! We just have some little last minute things to throw in!!

anyway...there are no hairdryers at Pop Century and if I remember correctly, they are giving out the little soaps and shampoo at Pop Century. I don't think they are in the dispenser thing.

Have fun and we'll see ya there!!1

Sorry Everyone for the mis information!!! I didn't think that PC had the hair dryers!! I'll learn to keep my mouth (fingers) quiet in the future!!!

Tyler - two more weeks and we'll be there saying HI to you in person!!!!

Cya There!!!

I can vouch for this. I called housekeeping for a hairdryer when I was there last week, and someone came by in about 15 minutes with a hairdryer. I think this is mentioned in an earlier post on this thread, but I can see how it might have been difficult to find it considering how long this thread is becoming! LOL!!! Thanks again Tyler for all your helpful posts here! You're awesome.

There are no designated smoking or non-smoking buildings.

There ARE however blocks of rooms scattered around the resort that are smoking optional.

:D

We were in Pop in the A building, third floor facing the foose ball court) of the 70's and were told (I have asthma, and we hated that All Stars had smoking on one floor and not another..so I really stressed it) it was a totally smoke free building. While walking around it, we did see some people smoking out on the walkways, but no one inside. I thought we saw the little non smoking circles on the doors..but we also were someplace else, so I may be mixed up.

So that building isn't totally smoke free? I just told someone on another list it was : (

The non-smoking symbols mean that it's a non-smoking room. A guest cannot smoke inside the room. If they are outside, unfortunetly, there is not much we can do.

Of course, that I know..although it would be nice, if people who stayed in non smoking buildings, would go away from the building to smoke! They don't seem to realize, the smoke gets sucked in.

The question was if there were any non smoking buildings..you had answered there were no non smoking buildings..yet, I believe the building we were in was non smoking..the whole A building. At least we were told it was a complete non smoking building, and I believe all the rooms (at least the ones we noticed) had the no smoking symbol on them. So, unless I was told incorrectly on the phone and at the front desk, I believe the OP who asked, would be well off (or best as can be) in that building. Would that be a correct assumption?

Good Morning!

Tyler, does Pop Century transfer bags to the Swan? If I missed this answer somewhere else, just direct me there.

Thanks

Susan

PS. It was because of this thread and bus queue lines that got me to stay here. Can hardly wait!

Thanks everyone:Pinkbounc

What I meant was that we don't say "Building 1 is non-smoking, and building 2 is smoking"... instead, we set aside blocks of rooms (ie: a wing) and designate them as smoking optional. They are scattered around the resort, different buildings and different floors. Unfortunetly, I don't have the list of where they are located, but I think it's at least one block per building. Although, it very well could be that building just doesn't have a smoking block in it.

We sure do! In fact, I transferred some there the other day. Just give us a call the night before, and we'll pick them up and take them over. They will usually be at the Swan no later than 1:30-2:00ish.

With the Swan in particular, please be sure to specify to the cast member when you call if this luggage is for the Disney Cruise Line or if you are staying at the Hotel. (DCL luggage has to be there by 10:00)

I've read that Pop Century has a jogging trail. Is this true?

Yup... we call it Memory Lane. For now, it circles around the 50s, 80s and 90s, and then around Hourglass Lake. Once the Legendary Years open up, it will completely circle around the lake.

Thanks, Tyler:D As always, your response has been very helpful:earsboy:

Thanks so much for the quick response.

Now I need to get on the Swan thread to see if they transfer bags back to the Pop Century!! Don't ask.....family you know.

DMRick, we also stayed in building A on the third floor. We were facing the centercourt also. What room were you in? We had rooms 6370 and 6371. I don't think we could have been closer :) We got moved to the 70's after we were put in the horrible 80/90's section our first night.
