Hello!

I'm trying to get my dinner plans in order before I have to call and make ADR's on the 13th.

Not sure how the Neverland Club works. DH and I are considering it for one night.

Can anyone tell me approximately how much it'll cost.

Do you have to call and let them know at that time how many hours your kids would like to stay? or are you free to pick them up anytime before closing?
:confused3

Hi there. Neverland Club is great. My daughter and her friends and cousins have always loved it there...
Last we used it, the charge was $11/hour per child, with a 2-hour minimum charge. This price includes supper.
They are open from 4:30pm to midnight (I think that's right ). When you call WDW-DINE to book this, they will ask the approximate time you plan to drop off. They will also ask for a credit card to hold the reservation but your mode of payment can be whatever you choose that evening (cash, credit, charge to the room...). In the event that you don't cancel 24 hours in advance or are a no-show, the original cc# will be charged that 2-hour charge.
When you drop them off, you will be asked the approximate pick-up time.

Thank you so much for the info, it was very very helpful.

I can always count on my dis-experts!!:cool1:

Hi guys,

I'm seven months out now and wondering if I should book a room only reservation soon? I wasn't sure when the new rates come out for 2010 and I don't want to risk not being able to get a reservation for the Poly. We'll be traveling the last week of February next trip...should I book it now, or is it better to wait for the rates to come out? Also, if you book a room-only ressie, can you change it later if you get a pin code or if they offer some kind of dining deal or 4/3 deal? I think you can, but just wanted to make sure :) I just can't wait to be able to say "I booked my reservation for February 2010!" Then it will really feel like it's real! It hit me last night that I needed to insure that we would not lose out on a room: My DD and I went to the local fireworks, and about three minutes in, she looks at me and says, "where's the music? why does it take so long between fireworks? I miss the castle and playing in the beach. This isn't like the Poly at all!" :sad2: I vehemently agreed with her and promised she'd be seeing REAL fireworks again very soon! (Now I'm feeling the pressure again of which darn longhouse to request! Fiji was closed last time I was there, so I think I'm going to try again for third floor Fiji. I liked how close it was to the GCH and volcano pool, and the views are great from both sides. Maybe this time, I'll get my request (although Hawaii wasn't too bad either! ;) )

A somewhat off topic question for you guys: I bought DD a Cinderella castle for her birthday while we were there in APril and we play with it all the time. So I ordered her the monorail set with the Epcot Ball playset and some little guys to put on the monorail. On the Disney website, there is a Contemporary playset that goes with the monorail (currently unavailable), and upon some Googling, found there used to be a Polynesian playset also. I would do anything to get my hands on a Polynesian playset...anyone know why they dont' make it anymore and if there are ever any rumors of them bringing it back? I check occasionally on EBAY, but haven't found one yet :(

Can we get hot breakfast at Captain Cooks? how big is Captain Cooks? Are there many tables? do they have the little mickey waffles and other breakfast platters like the other food courts? What about dinner time? Are there "entrees" at dinner? Even just one or two? Can one always get a burger or dog there?

Julie

what kind of deal did you get???

We used the 35% discount...for us that is a great deal and we could justify the stay in Cl (which we normally would not stay in...except during our wedding at the BWI) so I am pretty excited lol!

Hi Everyone!
Our 25th anniversary is on Monday, and our trip is 7 weeks from tomorrow. My Mom, and two DSisters had a family get together today. All five of our kids managed to come , as well as the families of my sisters.

When we got to DSis's house DH and I got lei-ed. :rotfl: And the gifts turned out to be Poly oriented. We got the resort pin, a Poly disc ornament and a tikigod ornament. :) Along with t-shirts with our names in Mickey heads,:thumbsup2 we got Mickey and Minnie wine glasses (I've always eyed those!):drinking1, some kitchen goodies and a Polynesian beach towel for each of us. :cloud9: Family is wonderful!

Yesterday, I put the balance due for our trip on our credit card (and then transferred some money to pay for it in early August....I need the points garnered by putting it on my cc) So. . . it looks like we are definitely getting closer.

Congratulations Debbie- 25 years is a big deal! Ploy is so perfect and romantic. We will be there the same time as you guys! 7 weeks..woohoo!

Hi Mary
We also booked a LVC with the 35% rate. I couldn't pass it up. We had stayed in a garden view room at the Poly a couple of years ago and I have dreamed of coming back and staying in a LVC room:cloud9:

Now that my daughter is 16, I don't know how many more mom/daughter trips I can convince her to go on with me, so I figured I would splurge on something special. We will probably just take things at a slower pace this trip and just soak up the surroundings.

I'd suggest booking as soon as possible, and if possible use a TA.

Once you have a room, you can always alter the or cancel/rebook the reservation. Not sure what the policy on room-only, we've never ended up w/one, but for packages final payment is due 45 days out & I believe at that point you can't change anything.

The beauty of a TA is a good one will stay up on deals, packages & promos coming out. And if they know your plans they can apply the best deals for you. Personally, I'm not the type to get up early & sit on the phone trying to sort out all the $$'s. I prefer to get the occassional e-mail from our TA saying pick X or Y. Or even better the e-mail saying this new thing came out & I just knocked $$ off your trip (or got you free dining like we have this year).

Either way -- book yourself or w/a TA -- you can start w/the room only & then modify right up along until that final payment date.

what time do the boat launches shared with the GF start running in the am and what time do they stop in the pm? Thanks :)

At this point in time, I would just wait to make the reservation until the rates come out, probably early next month. If you do make a room only reservation now and then want to change it to a package, you need to make a whole new reservation, with a new deposit. Then cancel the room only and get your deposit back.
If you have any kind of reservation and a deal comes out that you want to take advantage of, you can always call and see if a room is available and then change your reservation. If you change from one room only deal to another room only deal or one package to another package, they just change the reservation. Changing from room only to package, or the other way around would require a new reservation. If a deal comes out within 45 days of your trip you can still make the change, although you may be charged a fee for doing this. But if the deal is good enough to save you enough money, it could be worth it.

I am trying to get our ADRs together for our first stay at the Poly in Oct. What I was wondering if I make ADRs for the resturants listed and the times will we be able to get there in time using Disney transportation? Here is a list and time of we are thinking of going:

Chef Mickey's @ 8:00am

1900 Park Fare @ 7:30am or 8:00am

Holywood & Vine @ 8:00am

Cinderella's Royle Table @ 7:30am or 8:00am

Akershus @ 8:00am

I know that these times are early but we want to get to the parks as soon as possible because we will be going back to our room for a mid day break. I just hope that the Disney transportation is running this early since we will not have a car.

Thanks for all the help in advance.

The resort monorail begins running at 7am so it will be easy to get to Chef Mickey's, 1900 Park Fare and Cinderella's Royal Table.

I've seen conflicting things about early the Epcot monorail runs these days. I know a few years ago, it started late enough that DS1 almost missed his Segue tour. He sprinted and just made it. The buses to DHS should be running in time.

Are showers/lockers located in the restrooms near the volcano pool? I'm wondering if it's similar to the GF?

My kids like to swim on our arrival and departure days, and having the changing area and lockers really comes in handy.

Just planning WAY ahead for next summer vacation :rotfl:

I don't remember seeing lockers, but there are showers.

I finally managed to catch up after being gone for almost two weeks, with very limited access to the internet.

I hope everyone had a happy and healthy fourth.
