My documents have arrived:cool1:Now I just need to get through the last 2 weeks of school:yay:

Where is the music loudest? Which beach at the Poly or what about the pool area?

We like the area near the bicycle rental in the marina. Typically, you will have the area to yourself and the music is clearly audible. The beach area is iffy since some of the speakers work better than others AND there is a good bit of guest noise.

Someone also mentioned the area in front of Tahiti is nice and very few people wander down there. I have no firsthand knowledge of that beach though.

The pool area near the bar generally has good sound, but a somewhat obstructed view.

Frankly, the quiet pool has the best sound BUT you can't see the fireworks--go figure. . . :confused3

I am excited that I am down to a year and a half before our next trip. We started planning in March and have been watching the days tick by.

For those who are going soon, I am envious and want to hear all about your trips.

I'm so jealous of those of you who are going so sooooon! I booked last AUG to go this December! It's been a long wait and I finally was able to get excited to see my ticker say less than 6 mos left! haha

Question for anyone who's been recently - do you recall seeing any sand toys available to play with in the beach area? I've heard from others (but I think staying at Beach Club maybe) that there are always toys available just laying around on the beach. And that would actually be very nice if it were true. So I'm just wondering if they are available for kids to play with or if we should bring our own from home!! THANKS!! :worship:

I don't remember there being sand toys...at BC they sell the kids meals with a pail and shovel. We have bought one to bring this trip...

I am pretty sure you have to buy sand toys. They sell them together: a pail and shovel.

I just returned 2 days ago, and there were never any sand toys just lying around. I assume you can buy them at the gift shop or bring them with you. Have a great trip!

We bought our sand toys from gardengrocer.com along with other stuff. I just put what I wanted--kids sand buckets with sturdy shovels--in the comments section of the order form. They called me to verify what I wanted and they shopped for it and delivered it along with all our other groceries. It was great.

Our last afternoon at the Poly, we scoped out a family with 4 little kids that had obviously just arrived (looking confused on the beach) and gave them our sand buckets. It was their first afternoon and they were staying for a week. The kids started playing immediately. It is nice to spread the magic a little :wizard:

I will be there in 7 days! This time next week, I plan to be sipping on a drink by the volcano pool :cheer2:

Well I finally read through all the pages here. What alot of information. It is good to hear of so many great experiences. I do have on question though, The only two long houses we will not be able to stay in is Hawaii and tonga right? We recieved a pin code for kids 3-9 free so we started at PORS, then decided for 2 rooms and CSR, but with the hassle we thought we would book Poly and thats where we are at. We are hoping for a better discount for the time we are going Nov 16-24. We know through mousesavers that they have offered discounts at that time. Well I have to go now the kids are yelling for snack. I will be keeping tabs on this thread to see how things go in the next few months. Thanks for all the help:thanks::thanks:

Is the Tonga Toast available without the bananas inside? I used to oder it this way, but I haven't been there since 2003.

if you are staying club level, they hand out buckets and shovels when you check in inside Hawaii. Otherwise they do sell a couple types of shovel/pails sets in the gift shop. They were inexpensive between $1-5. I have seen some abandoned buckets along the beach, but I don't know that you can count on finding some.

Hawaii is all club level.
Tonga houses only suites.

Here is a great site for answering questions and learning even more about the Poly:

As far as that pin, I think kids up to age 17 are ALWAYS free as far as room goes......if you are talking about free tickets and/or meals, too - that's great!
