I think it may be easier to do it in reverse order i.e. book GV CL now and if you do not have the funding drop down to non-cl before your final payment is due. As there are more non-club level rooms than club level rooms it may increase your chances in the event you wish to make a change. Of course this locks you into club level if poly gets sold out at plain GV level:confused3..tough call

That is a thought. I am trying to pay for the trip in full (paying cash) before we the final payment is due. So far I have saved around 2500 and going to put that down as a deposit in August. If I did get stuck with a CL I guess I could put it on my Disney card and pay it off with before 6 months is up for the zero interest.

Thanks for giving me something to consider.

If you are not already doing it, you can make a "payment" of $2,500 to your Disney Visa card and use the Disney Visa for your deposit payment and make $25.00 in Disney dollars for your use on the trip.

That is an idea too. So far we have about $500 in rewards on our disney card. We are planning to use that for spending money while we are there. We are doing the dining plan but we always pay for extras out of pocket, also this will be used towards tips and souveniers.

THAT'S what I was talkin' about in my earlier post! What's in that thing? It rules!:worship::worship::worship::worship:

I haven't had one for a couple years but the adult grilled cheese had three cheeses in it last I knew. One was blue cheese which contributes a great deal to the unique taste IMO.

Puglsy, ouch! Hope you're feeling better and have a wonderful vacation!:cool1:

I want to know if anyone has ever taken the Monirail from the Poly to Epcot and then walked to the World Showcase gate to get to the Boardwalk? The reason I ask is my wife wants to avoid using the buses. It seems that she has a strong disliking for the buses.

I told her that her plan sounded very time consuming and alot of extra walking. specially with two small kids (2 and 4). I suggested going to the MK and taking a bus to the Boardwalk.

So if anyone has done the monirail-epcot-boardwalk trip how long did it take? Or if anyone has done the monirail-epcot-boat to DS how did that take?

Thanks,

I finally did it!!! I booked 2 nights at the POLY GV!!! I am sooo excited!!:banana: This will be our first time at the POLY!!! We will be doing 4 nights at teh CBR preffered and 2 nights at the POLY. Come on July... I want a Lapu Lapu!!

I have not had the adult grilled cheese, but that sounds amazing.
taylor3297, we're planning to go to the poly in early December 2010 as well. 18 months seems like forever, though. I think we're going to start out booked at CL and take it from there - even if we don't get any deal between the time we book and the time we travel, we'll probably stick with CL. Our kids are young enough (by then, they'll be 7, 6 and almost 3) that we'd be back at the resorts early and make the club offerings dinner. So far I have about 1/3 of the cost of our trip saved and earning interest in our savings account - I plan to use the disney visa, though, to pay for it, so I earn the disney dollars but pay the total off at once.
Pugsly - my cheek is having sympathy pains, I think. Ouch! But as others have posted, you couldn't be recuperating in a more beautiful location.
koho - I don't have an answer to your question, but I really despise the buses. My kids would probably prefer a longer ride by boat or monorail over a ride on the bus.

I LOVE the Adult Grilled Cheese (could do without the sprouts though and always forget to tell them that but oh well). AND I love the chips that come with that .. they are soooo good.

Congrats!:cool1: I hope you LOVE the Poly -- it's such a relaxing place!:)

And I agree -- July needs to hurry up already!:rotfl:

I have a garden view booked and only asked to be close to the pool/GCH area. Should I have asked for something else? I wanted to be close to both because I am taking my 79 yo mother with me.

It comes with sprouts?! :scared1: Do you know what kind? I've been dying to try this, but have a few very bad reactions to bean sprouts. I don't want to be dying because I tried it  (not literally, just dying from wicked stomach cramps and hives).

If you want a balcony or a patio, make sure to request one. Many 2nd floor rooms don't have one. You may want to ask to be on the first floor so you don't have to deal with walking to the elevator, etc. with your DM, but that's a personal choice. Asking to be close to the pool & GCH sounds good to me.:)

Congragulations and have a great time. :thumbsup2

I, too, avoid the buses any time I can. When we hit Boardwalk, we travel to EPCOT by monorail and walk through the International Gateway. I would guess you will have a stroller since you have two little ones and taking it on the monorail is a lot easier than a bus.

If you figure the monorail takes around 15 minutes and another 15-20 to walk through EPCOT, then maybe another 10 to the Boardwalk, you have approximately 40-50 minutes.

By bus, you have to monorail (or boat) to MK from the Polynesian (around 15 minutes) and if you are lucky to catch a bus at the stop--you could get there quicker (20-25 minutes). If you just missed a bus and have to wait, add a minimum of 20 minutes to the time.

Either way, the time is pretty close. I, like your wife, prefer the monorail and leisurely stroll through EPCOT route to the slow, bumpy, potentially crowded bus AND the stops it will make en route to the Boardwalk (depending upon which resort(s) are sharing the bus).

In any event, whichever way you choose to go--you will arrive at some point. :thumbsup2

I think they are alfalfa (I am sure I spelled that wrong) ones - the green ones that make you think you are eating grass. I am sure you could ask for them not to be on there.

I'd just take a taxi. They're always around and only cost $10-12 most times. That way you save yourselves the extra walking.

But doing that both going and coming could get pricey!!

So is it the same in reverse - going home? We want to try dinner at Cape May (Beach Club) and were wondering how to get back and forth. To come home, we'd have to take a bus to MK and then boat or monorail back to Poly??

Another question - when you arrive via monorail or boat to MK and then transwer to a bus to another resort - how far do you have to walk from monorail or boat dock to get to the busses??

Woo Hoo! I'm at the airport awaiting my flight to Orlando!! I'll be staying with a friend this weekend then check into the Poly on Monday!!! :woohoo:
